This a very rare car, being only 2500 with the 454 big block engine were produced in 1973. Very clean!!! Complete frame off restoration done on car; a lot of the original parts were used after they were refinished; also replaced some parts with NOS and a few aftermarket parts; car is not a numbers matching, but it is a true SS; (engine ID# 14C144549); VIN# listed in description; exterior body parts were used from two different cars, but both 1973 Chevelles. Interior includes new carpet, headliner; dash pad and rear speaker shelf; owners manual included. Exterior has new vinyl top and paint job.  There are only 1100 miles on rebuilt motor and transmission. New BF Goodrich Radial TA tires (235 x15); chrome Craiger 5 spoke wheels (15" x 8"). AM/FM cassette player, power steering and brakes (front disc brakes and rear drum brakes). Emergency brake cable needs to be adjusted; being it is an automatic, I never used it; it is there if you want to work with it. Factory air; converted to 134A coolant; blower only works on high and low speed (may need a new relay switch); just recharged AC after fixing a leak around the coolant line connectors. The gas gauge works, but not accurate; it will only read to about half full. Dual exhaust; mild cam added when engine rebuilt (valve lift .520) - sounds really good. Car has been garage kept and never been out in the rain; driven only on clear, sunny days.
Car is show ready; I've entered it in three car shows with an award in each - One Top Ten Cars, One Top Three Cars and One First Place.  A $500 deposit is due within 48 hours of end of auction (PayPal only); remainder of payment due within 7 days of auction end; payment by certified bank check ; must clear bank before vehicle is released to buyer. Seller reserves the right to end auction early, as vehicle is also for sale locally. Buyer is responsible for pick up or shipping and all shipping charges. I will assist anyway I can. Please ask all questions before bidding.

5 reasons why GM is cutting jobs, closing plants in a healthy economy

Tue, Nov 27 2018

DETROIT — Even though unemployment is low, the economy is growing and U.S. auto sales are near historic highs, General Motors is cutting thousands of jobs in a major restructuring aimed at generating cash to spend on innovation. It's the new reality for automakers that are faced with the present cost of designing gas-powered cars and trucks that appeal to buyers now while at the same time preparing for a future world of electric and autonomous vehicles. GM announced Monday that it will cut as many as 14,000 workers in North America and put five plants up for possible closure as it abandons many of its car models and restructures to focus more on autonomous and electric vehicles. The reductions could amount to as much as 8 percent of GM's global workforce of 180,000 employees. The cuts mark GM's first major downsizing since shedding thousands of jobs in the Great Recession. The company also said it will stop operating two additional factories outside North America by the end of next year. The move to make GM get leaner before the next downturn likely will be followed by Ford Motor Co., which also has struggled to keep one foot in the present and another in an ambiguous future of new mobility. Ford has been slower to react, but says it will lay off an unspecified number of white-collar workers as it exits much of the car market in favor of trucks and SUVs, some of them powered by batteries. Here's a rundown of the reasons behind the cuts: Coding, not combustion CEO Mary Barra said as cars and trucks become more complex, GM will need more computer coders but fewer engineers who work on internal combustion engines. "The vehicle has become much more software-oriented" with millions of lines of code, she said. "We still need many technical resources in the company." Shedding sedans The restructuring also reflects changing North American auto markets as manufacturers continue to shift away from cars toward SUVs and trucks. In October, almost 65 percent of new vehicles sold in the U.S. were trucks or SUVs. That figure was about 50 percent cars just five years ago. GM is shedding cars largely because it doesn't make money on them, Citi analyst Itay Michaeli wrote in a note to investors. "We estimate sedans operate at a significant loss, hence the need for classic restructuring," he wrote. The reduction includes about 8,000 white-collar employees, or 15 percent of GM's North American white-collar workforce. Some will take buyouts while others will be laid off.

Watch Evo pick its 2015 Car of the Year in this epic video

Mon, Dec 7 2015

With just a few days left in 2015, it's the perfect time to check out Evo's annual Car of the Year test to determine the greatest performance vehicle of the last 12 months. The writers' picks for the 11 finalists spanned a breadth of engaging models and included: Peugeot 208 GTi by Peugeot Sport, Lamborghini Aventador SV, Seat Leon Cupra Sub8, McLaren 675LT, Porsche 991 GT3 RS, Porsche Cayman GT4, Honda Civic Type R, Ferrari 488 GTB, Chevrolet Camaro Z/28, Lotus Evora 400, and Mercedes-AMG GT S. For the venue to test the mettle of these performance machines, Evo stuck close to home this year and visited the twisting roads at the beautiful north coast of Scotland. Racing brothers Marino and Dario Franchitti also came along for the ride to provide two more voices in the competitive challenge to determine a winner. Evo's video explains why each model deserves to be among such rarified company but doesn't gloss over their faults either. There can be only one winner, though. We don't want to spoil it, so check out the clip for magnificent views of these performance machines through the Scottish countryside.
