1972 Chevelle with SS trim. It can pass for an SS from the outside. Nice paint. It has 2 minor door nicks on the front of the drivers door where it rubbed. I just bought 1 pint of Dupont paint and thinner for the touch up. It cost over $110.00 just for the pint. It has new chrome all around, bumpers, mirrors , door handles exhaust tips. New exhaust from headers back with Flowmaster 50's . New 355 gears with limited slip rear end ( 12 bolt rear ). beautiful paint that cost over $3200.00 for the repaint 3 years ago. New wheels and tires. Air shocks on rear. Nice valve covers and air cleaner. Engine has a radical cam. I did mount an aftermarket vacuum pump made specifically for wild cams . I bought it last year as a car to show and there are only 3 shows in the area. the car just sits and I have no garage space. I Have too many toys and something has to go. The Chevelle is the chosen one. the engine sounds great with the Flowmasters. It has a nice intake and Elderbrock 4 bbl carb. After it sits for a while I get a puff of smoke on starting. It acts like leaking valve seals ? I am not sure . The trans has a shift kit and it has a high stall torque converter. It is column shift and bench seat. the interior is beautiful. There is a crappy repair job done under where the trunk lid rests. You cannot really see it till you raise the trunk. I also bought the repair panel to fix it and I also bought a 3 piece trunk floor repair panel kit because there is a small hole there. Other then that the rest looked decent. It is an eastern car . The headliner on the drivers side needs the seam sewed. It is loose. I bought it in Baltimore a year ago and haven't driven it much. I did drive it back from there. NOTE : The prior owner was over age 60 and I am 62 . It hasn't been driven hard any time lately . . I just changed to synthetic oil. I am not sure how that will be : But it hasn't leaked yet . I have receipts for the paint and a lot of the other parts like rear gears and cam and paint job and others. Original owner had a bundle invested. It is a Clone and not a real SS. It is being sold " AS-IS WITH NO WARRANTY " due to it's age and it is a used car and I an not a dealer. Cash only or certified cashiers check . No money orders accepted. car must be picked up within 7 days of sale. It is inspected till Sept. 2013 in Pennsylvania. It is a nice car for local shows. You have a chance to get a very nice car that looks like a real SS for about 1/2 the regular price of a REAL one in the same condition.

First-edition Detroit muscle raises millions for charity at Barrett-Jackson
Mon, Jan 19 2015Amidst all the classic metal crossing the auction block each year in Scottsdale, AZ, Detroit automakers have a tradition of donating the first examples of their most enticing new muscle cars, with the proceeds of their sales going towards worthwhile charities. This year, Barrett-Jackson handled three noteworthy examples. The highest price among them was the first Ford Shelby GT350R Mustang with the VIN #001, which raised $1 million for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. General Motors donated the first new Chevy Corvette Z06 Convertible, the first retail example of the droptop supercar garnering $800,000 for the United Way. Along with the Z06, GM also donated the first new 2016 Cadillac CTS-V sedan, which brought in $170,000 for Detroit's College for Creative Studies. Although these were the headline Motown muscle machines furnished by the automakers themselves, they weren't the only vehicles auctioned off for worthy causes. A 1950 GM Futurliner bus donated by collector Ron Pratte led the charge when it brought in $4.65 million for the Armed Forces Foundation. Other lots included a custom Jeep Wrangler donated by SEMA ($85k), a new M5 donated by BMW ($800k), a '79 Oldsmobile Cutlass Hurst ($140k), '39 Cadillac LaSalle C-Hawk ($410k), Jeff Gordon's 1999 NASCAR-spec Chevy Monte Carlo ($500k) and a Victory Cross Country 8-Ball motorcycle ($180k). All told, the charity lots raised over $8.7 million for local and national charities. Here are all the cars GM is axing as part of its restructuring
Tue, Nov 27 2018GM plans to kill off a couple of great and a few meh cars as part of its restructuring. Here's a rundown of all the cars being phased out of production. None of the vehicles GM axed were SUVs or crossovers. Instead, it was an action reminiscent of what Ford recently decided to do by discontinuing U.S. sales every Blue Oval sedan. GM just didn't explicitly say, "We're killing our cars," like Ford did — probably a smart move by GM. Keep scrolling down to see the full list of deceased GM models. Chevrolet Volt This one was the most surprising of all the cars GM decided to can, primarily because cars with plugs are supposed to be our future. However, maybe consumer demand just isn't quite there yet for a plug-in like the Volt. We came up with all sorts of ideas for what was to blame for the untimely demise of the Volt, so go check that out for a full breakdown of the situation. Cadillac CT6 Here's another car we'll be sad to see go. Cadillac's flagship sedan was such a joy to drive, and it served as the conduit to deliver GM's semi-autonomous Super Cruise system, which still hasn't been surpassed by any other company's technology in our books, even Tesla's Autopilot. That being said, GM does plan to produce the CT6 until March, with the last cars coming off the line set to be twin-turbo V8 V-Series models. If it's going to go, this seems like a pretty great way to make an exit. We'll be patiently awaiting the next flagship Cadillac once this one finally fades away. Chevrolet Impala The Impala is actually a pretty good car. It doesn't sell terribly, and we think it's a completely satisfactory car to drive. However, people would rather have a Traverse or Equinox these days, making the Impala one of the vehicles to find itself on this list. Chevrolet is keeping its smaller brother, the Malibu, but a big, full-size sedan just isn't what people are ordering up these days. It's unfortunate to see it go, but we won't be broken up over it. Chevrolet Cruze We wouldn't rank the Cruze at the top of the compact car class, but if you were looking for a small, cheap American car, it was either this or the Focus. The Cruze had the potential to be a true small performance car if Chevy had ever wanted to make it into one. But sadly, we're seeing it bow out before Chevy ever tried to slot a hot engine and suspension in there to make it competitive with other hot hatches. A Cruze SS would have made enthusiasts take notice.
GM recalling over 40,000 Chevy, Pontiac and Saturn models over fuel pump woes
Mon, 01 Oct 2012The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued a recall for a number of General Motors cars and crossovers bought or currently registered in the hot-climate states of Arkansas, Arizona, California, Nevada, Oklahoma and Texas. As many as 40,859 units consisting of the 2007 Chevrolet Equinox, Pontiac Torrent and Saturn Ion and the 2007-2009 Chevrolet Cobalt (shown) and its Pontiac G5 twin are being recalled for potential fuel leaks.
This recall is being issued due to potentially faulty fuel pump components that can crack and cause gasoline to leak from the return or supply ports and possibly cause a fire. NHTSA has not indicated how many fuel leaks or vehicle fires have been reported. As a fix, GM will replace the fuel pump modules on all affected vehicles free of charge. Since Pontiac and Saturn have been shuttered, owners will be able to go to another GM-brand dealership to have their vehicles repaired.
While the list of affected cars and crossovers varies by state and model year, if you own any of these models and live in Arizona, California, Florida, Nevada, Oklahoma or Texas, be sure to check the official notice below for more details.
