This car was sold to the original owner by Jordan Chevrolet in 1972, located, at that time, in Timmonsville, SC. The dealership is no longer in business. The original owner had bought the car while living in Darlington, SC. She passed away without heirs or a will and her entire estate went up for auction in February 2005. I went to the auction in hopes that this car would worthy of bidding on, and I was right. I bought the car at the auction as the highest bidder. I drove the car home without any problems. It showed 10K miles on the odometer, and I'm sure it had turned over one time. But, I bought the car because it was in fantastic condition, had no signs of rust or having ever been wrecked, and it was whole and all there. As soon as I got the car home, I began a 2 year restoration. Since I've owned it, I've driven it 30K miles. So, it currently shows 40K miles, which is more than likely 140K miles. I started a restoration on the car begining with the drive train and running gear. The engine was professionally rebuilt by one of the top engine building machine shops in South Carolina. The dished 8.5 compression pistons were replaced with forged flat top 9.5 pistons, the cylinders were cleaned up, and all new bearings were replaced on the bottom end. The heads were freshened up with all new stainless steel valves, new springs, and, I've installed a Competition 270 Magnum Camshaft. It idles with a nice lope and it is crisp and responsive without hesitation or stumbling. The TurboHydramatic Three speed was professionally rebuilt and a new torque converter was installed. The entire front and rear suspension was rebuilt. A new 2 1/4 inch aluminized true dual exhaust system was installed with factory style low restriction high flow mufflers and factory chrome tips. The car rides on 15X8 inch Corvette Rallys and P235/60R15 BF Goodrich Radial Tires. The engine breathes through a GM Performance Parts cast iron Z/28 high rise intake and a 1970 Corvette 350 C.I. 350 HP Quardajet 4 barrel carburetor. It has a Pertronix electronic ignition unit in the factory distributor and the engine puts out a true 300 horsepower at the flywheel. The interior was redone in factory style and the carpeting was replaced. The factory installed AM radio is still in the dash and still works. All front sheet metal was replaced including new inner and outer fenders, a new domed hood, and a new trunk lid was installed. Both front and rear bumpers are new and most trim and molding has been replaced. All that is left to be done to the car should I keep it is to replace the sweep dash with an SS style dash, install a new sound system, and repair the factory air conditioning system. It is a numbers matching car and was repainted the factory color - Mojave Gold. I am selling the car because I feel I have reached the point with the money invested that I will not be able to get it back should in spend any more, and would like to take on a new investment. It rides very nicely and has won numerous awards at car shows. It gets a lot of attention and has been a joy to own. It runs on pump gas and sound very powerful. I have a true $25,000 in the car with what I paid for it and will negotiate a price close to that amount. Contact me @ 706-231-6380 to arrange viewing and bidding on the car.

Chevrolet Silverado reportedly getting the GMC Sierra's MultiPro tailgate

Mon, Aug 17 2020

GMC reinvented the pickup tailgate when it added a six-way option named MultiPro to the current-generation Sierra it introduced in 2019. It kept this clever feature to itself as a way to differentiate the Sierra from the Chevrolet Silverado, but a recent report claims it will begin sharing it in the not-too-distant future. Enthusiast website GM Authority learned from anonymous sources familiar with Chevrolet's product plans that the Silverado will soon receive its own version of the MultiPro tailgate. It will be called either MultiFlex or Multi-Flex, a name Chevrolet has already trademarked, and it was initially scheduled to make its debut for the 2021 model year. Its arrival might be delayed until the 2022 model year due to the coronavirus pandemic, however. Chevrolet's Silverado and GMC's Sierra are nearly identical under the sheet metal, so adding the latter's six-way tailgate to the former will be a relatively straightforward and cost-effective process. Interestingly, GM Authority wrote engineers could add a seventh function to the tailgate, though it didn't reveal what they have in store. It's also not sure whether both trucks will get the new feature, or if it will exclusively be offered on the Chevrolet. 2022 will bring major updates to the Silverado and the Sierra, potentially including — as we've previously reported — an independent rear suspension. Interior upgrades will allegedly be part of the mid-cycle changes, too, but we still don't know if the Silverado will receive the tough carbon fiber cargo box available in the Sierra. In the meantime, motorists in the market for a Sierra will temporarily have fewer options to choose from. GMC has asked its dealers to stop taking orders for the regular- and double-cab variants of the truck, according to a separate report from GM Authority. Putting the slower-selling regular- and double-cab trucks on hiatus will allow dealers to build up their inventory of crew-cabs, which sell far better and are in relatively short supply. These restrictions will remain in effect until the 2021 model year, which starts on September 14 for double- and crew-cab models and on September 21 for regular-cab trucks. All three body styles will be available in 2021. Related Video:

2016 Chevy Colorado Duramax gets 31 mpg highway

Mon, Nov 9 2015

The 2016 Chevrolet Colorado Duramax and its similarly diesel-powered GMC Canyon sibling are the most fuel-efficient new trucks on the market in America. The Environmental Protection Agency estimates 31 miles per gallon highway, 22 mpg city, and 25 mpg combined for two-wheel-drive Colorado and Canyon diesels. That's just good enough to take the pickup fuel-economy title from the Ram 1500 EcoDiesel HFE, which carries EPA estimates of 29 mpg highway, 21 mpg city, and 24 mpg combined. Four-wheel-drive models offer slightly lower economy figures of 29/20/23, respectively. Drivers can cover quite some distance, too – the GM twins' 21-gallon tanks mean a maximum range of 651 miles.
Your browser does not support iframes.
Diesel's reputation may be somewhat tarnished in the US after Volkswagen's emissions scandal, but Chevy wants to assure potential customers that there are no tricks with the Colorado's figures. The pickup's engine features NOx-reducing tech like exhaust gas recirculation, and the EPA and California Air Resources Board recently chose the truck to take the additional step of real-world emissions tests. The 2.8-liter Duramax four-cylinder with 181 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque had no problems with the more stringent evaluation, and "the agency expressed no issues or concerns," according to the company's statement. The diesel Colorado goes on sale this fall, and the Duramax costs $3,730 over a similarly equipped V6 model. We've gone ahead and included dueling press releases from both Chevy and GMC below for your reading pleasure. The EPA-estimated highway fuel economy for 2016 Colorado four-wheel drive diesel is 29 mpg. The EPA has issued a Certificate of Conformity for the Chevrolet Colorado Duramax diesel. The agency expressed no issues or concerns following its recent extensive testing and evaluation of the emission control system on the Colorado Duramax diesel.
