1991 Chevrolet Caprice Wagon (heavenly Clean) on 2040-cars
Elkins Park, Pennsylvania, United States
|
Quick Overview
1991 Caprice Wagon with 190,834 miles 5.0 V8 with 4L60 trans...17" official impala rims I brought the wagon 7/12 with 180,450. As of this month 5/14...I put less then 11k miles on in 22 months. Why I'm selling it My reason for selling...was going to put a LS7 in it, but throw it in a 96 pala instead. The Interior The wagon is heavenly clean inside. It is a non-smoker with great condition cloth seats. The carpet is also in great condition. Third row looks as the factory just put it in. All of the the interior buttons are working as it should including cruise control, except for the horn. Seats work as they should as well. The dash is in great condition. The Exterior The exterior is in great shape as well, original paint as held its own in local car shows. The front bumper does have some fading and hood has some minor dings. Their are two dents both are minor and wasn't worth fixing to me. One is on the rear of the driver side near the bottom on the car...I driver had tapped the car in a parking light. The other dent is on the passenger door on the bottom. Rear door works in all directions...outwards and down. The rear window opens and the wipers work. Overall the body is great...a good car wash and some polish makes heads turn. Engine bay It is a 5.0 with a 4L60 trans...it is completely stock and runs like a champ. Just did a partial tuneup. Has new wires, dc cap/icm, and fuel filter. Just also replace the battery. New front brakes and master cylinder as well. Wheel & Tires I have 255/50/17 wrapped on the 17" Impala rims all around. The tires are in good shape. The rims all in good shape, but up close on the front rims, you can see some discoloring with the heavy salting this past winter. People are always asking to buy them off me..the rims really give the wagon a nice look. The Imperfections 1. The horn doesn't work 2. The two dents that are mentioned in the exterior section. 3. Ac might need a recharging depending on your location...blows air but not ice cold. 4. Brake Warning Light goes on and off...the brakes works and stops 100%. The car as past PA inspection and emission test with flying colors. Inspector said the brake warning sensor is going faculty, doesn't affect braking system. I have driven the car with these imperfections from PA to SC multiple times. Overall I would rate the car 8/10 stars. The cars turns head, gets excellent gas mileage, cheap insurance, and the ride is just plain amazing with the thick impala rims. Can Fernando Alonso win Indy? Here's why and why maybe not
Sat, May 27 2017SPEEDWAY, IN – The month of May has been a joy ride for Fernando Alonso at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The two-time Formula 1 champion came to Indy having never turned left in a race car without also turning right. But he acquired such a feel for Indy's 2 1/2 -mile rectangle during a month of practice and qualifying that he's considered a strong contender to win the 101st Indianapolis 500 on Sunday, rookie or not. "You're not trying to bring somebody on who has very little experience driving very high-performance cars," said 2003 Indy 500 winner Gil deFerran, who this month has helped Alonso learn the nuances that make the speedway such a tough place to conquer. "I suppose it would be a little bit different if you were dealing with a younger, much less experienced person." Driving a McLaren Honda from the potent Andretti Autosport team, Alonso was consistently near the top of the speed charts in practice, he qualified fifth fastest at 231.300 mph, and he handled runs in heavy traffic like a driver who'd done it many times before. But those were the prelims. The race is another creature. "The car felt the best (it has) in the last two weeks. I was making some moves, taking some different lines. I am extremely happy." Other drivers say the speedway looks different on race day when the crowd, expected to top 300,000, fills the grandstands and makes an already narrow track seem even tighter. The three-wide rolling start is something Alonso has never experienced, and he will see the green flag from the middle of the second row between Takuma Sato and J.R. Hildebrand. And the space he'll be given by his competitors in the first 180 laps may disappear In the last 20 when it's every driver for themselves. Can a rookie like Alonso win this race? Absolutely, as Andretti driver Alexander Rossi showed last year when his team used a fuel-mileage strategy to win in his first taste of Indy. We're talking about Fernando Alonso here, who easily could show his rookie stripes to the rest of the field most of the day. His best lap in Friday's final practice, 226.608, was fifth fastest in the field and, more important, he said the car felt comfortable in heavy traffic. "The car felt the best (it has) in the last two weeks," Alonso said. "I was making some moves, taking some different lines.
NHTSA approves hybrid rearview mirror display in Cadillac CT6, Bolt EV
Tue, Feb 23 2016The Chevy Bolt EV prototype doesn't just have a fancy new all-electric powertrain. Just outside the driver's line of sight is a newfangled rearview mirror, one that can turn into a screen that shows a moving image from the rear-facing camera. Speaking to NPR's Robert Siegel yesterday, Department of Transportation secretary Anthony Foxx said that NHTSA has now approved this type of mirror/screen for use in vehicles. According to a letter from NHTSA to General Motors, GM will likely use this Full Display Mirror first in the 2016 Cadillac CT6 before coming to the Bolt. In its letter to GM, NHTSA said that the Full Display Mirror will only qualify as a standard rearview mirror as long as there are normal side mirrors in place. In other words, don't expect to see cameras and screens replacing all the mirrors in a motor vehicle just yet. @AutoblogGreen @NPR - #NHTSA has OK'd GM rear-view system that can switch between mirror & camera views. pic.twitter.com/6CBeIit10v — Anthony Foxx (@SecretaryFoxx) February 22, 2016 The Full Display Mirror was developed by Gentex, which has long worked with GM. The FDM debuted in 2014 and some people hoped it would also make its way into the Tesla Model X. Gentex, which also makes auto-dimming mirrors, says that it has "set out to develop the technologies and core competencies necessary to manage this evolution of the rearview mirror." The Chevy Bolt EV will start at $37,500, before incentives. The 200-mile EV will go into production late this year for likely sale in early 2017. Related Video:
Sunday Drive: Trucks and SUVs of all shapes and sizes
Sun, Nov 5 2017The American automotive marketplace is dominated by trucks and SUVs, and so was the last week of coverage on Autoblog. By far, the most popular story of the week was our First Drive of the 2018 Lincoln Navigator. It may look like an old-school lumberer, but in reality Lincoln's flagship is a thoroughly modern, turbocharged-V6-powered, three-row, luxury people mover. The Jeep Wrangler is the world's most recognizable vehicle. So it's no surprise that the next version looks a whole heck of a lot like the last one, and the one before. It's all in the details, which is why we were so excited when Jeep decided to unleash a trio of images showing both two- and four-door Wranglers for us to dissect ahead of the SUV's official debut at the L.A. Auto Show later this year. Past that, spy photos of the next Chevy Silverado and Ram 1500 were predictably popular. See both of those below, and the cap it all off, check out the entire week's worth of SEMA coverage – including the bonkers Hennessey VelociRaptor 6x6 – in our mega image gallery at the bottom of this post. Enjoy! As always, tune in to Autoblog next week for a front-row seat to all the happenings worth following in the automotive industry. 2018 Lincoln Navigator First Drive | From black sheep to flagship 2018 Jeep Wrangler revealed: First photos released before L.A.
