This 1986 Camaro IROC-Z is excellent for its age and has the desirable red on red combo that is very hot! with factory louvers and T-Top and you have a very rare optioned Camaro which is insured by hagerty ins as a collector car. Only 5,000 1986 Camaros (not all were Iroc-Z's!) had the factory louvers which are black powder coated metal. The red interior is one of the higher level cloth interiors offered, the dash has the 145 speedo(which was later discontinued in the 86 model) and has no cracks, only the drivers seat is missing an inch of piping by the buckle, and the seat belts didnt get replaced by the previous owner during a recall by chevrolt so the plastic is cracking on the tab recieving part of the seat belt buckle, I am still looking for new seat belts in red and the next owner will have to address this issue if I am still out of luck. The body is all original but the paint is fading, no rust on the body, some door dings and a small dent in hood. All power options work but power window and door lock motors are weak. The power antenna works but the factory radio keeps cutting off havent had a chance to figure it out because it worked fine the first few times i drove it. The T-Tops have the "mandatory leak" and could be fixed with a new seal. The 305 tuned port motor is all original as far as I was told by second owner "yes an old lady" which makes me the 3rd owner. The heads need a valve job and was going to check compression to see if it was worth doing just a valve job but havent gotten to it. There have been many new parts replaced on this: water pump, muffler, ball joints, alternator, belts, hoses, brakes, rotors, air filter, sparkplugs, wheel bearings, tires and others i may have missed. Aftermarket adjustable strut plates are installed, this was due to alinement issues that turned out to be bad"new tires" which have been replaced so I left the plates on, the originals may or may not be in the trunk so they may or may not be included. The A/C has been changed over to R-134 and have discoved new o rings need to be installed and that should stop the leakage. The mileage is over 120,000 i think. Car is in storage and I dont recall the exact miles. Reason its up for auction is I got the opportunity to retire and had such short notice and subsequently took the offer and now im moving. I have three vehicle projects and this one I have decided to part with. Its currently in off site storage for the winter, winner will need to make arrangements to pick it up and/or pay storage fees of $120 a month till they do get it.To bid you must have PayPal account. On Ebay you must have 10 possitive feedbacks, no negative feedback, and a $500 transaction completed to be able to bid on this car. Winner will be required to pay $500 thru PayPal at end of auction and full payment thru PayPal in 7 days of auction end or cashiers check from major bank in 5 days and will hold car/title till it clears my bank (usually 15 business days). Please ask any questions before bidding, I have no other pictures, and if you dont have the money don't bid. Thank you and good luck!

Peter Max staring down $1M lawsuit over Corvette collection sale
Wed, Dec 17 2014Pop artist Peter Max recently sold off his collection of 36 vintage Chevrolet Corvettes – one each from 1953 to 1989 – for an undisclosed amount. The new owners have already announced plans to restore some of them and auction the models off sometime soon. Up until then, the sports cars had been languishing in various garages around New York City for decades and were caked in dust and grime. However, Max's end of the transaction has just become more complicated, because two men are suing the artist claiming he employed them to complete the deal first. The men allege that Max hired them to broker the sale of the 36 Corvettes in exchange for a 10-percent commission, according to the New York Post. They claim to have emails and text messages proving the existence of the deal, and are taking Max to court for $1 million over the squabble. The collection of Corvettes was amassed in 1989 as part of a prize package from the television network VH1, and Max bought the cars from the winner intending on using them for an art project. He never got around to it, though, and parked the sports cars around New York, until he finally sold them over the summer.
Here's how Detroit is selling more luxury vehicles than Germany and Japan
Sun, Dec 14 2014Now there's an attention-grabbing headline, eh? Although the answer to the riddle - pickup trucks and SUVs - might be somehow deflating, the numbers involved deserve a going over. According to TrueCar's figures (click on the table to enlarge), six of the year's ten best-selling vehicles in the US that sell for a transaction price above $50,000 are body-on-frame, and the Mercedes-Benz E-Class is the only foreigner to crack the top five. Every enthusiast knows that pickup trucks are 'Murica's most popular vehicle by a colossal margin, and there have been plenty of reports about the popularity of luxuriously appointed trucks and SUVs, but compare these figures from TrueCar: 70 percent of Chevrolet Tahoe sales have a transaction price above $50K, and The Bowtie is expected to make $3.9 billion in revenue on 66,945 predicted high-dollar sales; 95.1 percent of E-Class sales break $50K, so the German company will make $4.0 billion on 67,006 predicted sales in that pricing sphere. It's about the only time you'll see the Tahoe ranked right next to Mercedes' bread-and-butter sedan. Ram is ahead of those two with $4.2B coming from $50K-plus sales. The Ford F-Series does almost as much revenue as the next three combined, with an expected $10.8 billion coming from sales of trucks over $50K - more than a quarter of the model's total sales, when a base F-150 can be had for about $26,000. Yes, the Germans make a lot more money on fewer sales, but considering the comparison, the bottom line isn't too troubled by such facts. Weighing like-for-like, the full-size Ford walks it in every category; elsewhere, the Chevrolet Silverado outsells the Ram, but the Ram outsells the Chevy by 6.7 percent above $50K. And for all the flak GMC takes over swapping out grilles, the Sierra also outsells the Chevy in the well-appointed segment, 16.1 percent of sales versus 11 percent – the Professional Grade brand is a huge profit center for The General. You'll find more info in the TrueCar press release below. TrueCar finds pickup trucks far outsell premium brands among top 10 vehicles over $50,000 Ford F-Series pickup sales over $50,000 surpass combined BMW 3, 5, 7 Series luxury car sales SANTA MONICA, Calif. (December 10, 2014) - TrueCar, Inc., the negotiation-free car buying and selling platform, finds mainstream pickup trucks and sport-utility vehicles dominate U.S.
The real costs of keeping a Chevy Volt on the road
Wed, Sep 2 2015The release of the new, 2016 Chevy Volt is sure to bring a surge of used electric vehicles to the market as early adopters trade their older models in. Many of these cars are selling for a fraction of their original price, thanks in part to federal and state incentives that lowered the initial cost to the first owner, which opens these cars up to a whole new class of consumers. While the prices are getting attractive, potential buyers are still hesitant to buy a used EV due to uncertainty about service and repair costs, but there may be some good news on the horizon. The Chevy Volt comes with a battery warranty that is good for at least 8 years and 100,000 miles, but many of the Volts popping up on the market have passed that 100,000-mile mark. The threat of needing a new battery can be a deterrent, especially with some dealers quoting prices as high as $34,000 for a full "drive motor battery replacement." That sum is more than the MSRP of a 2016 model. Some of the fear of EV maintenance and repair comes from the mystery of the individual pieces that make up the drivetrain and charging system. If we take a look at the Volt in terms of analogs to a traditional internal-combustion vehicle, the outlook becomes a little more friendly. The Volt battery pack consists of three lithium-ion modules in a T-shaped arrangement, each of which can be serviced individually. Module 1 is made up of 90 cells and corresponds to GM part number 22954462, which retails for $3,258.33; module 2 is made up of 72 cells and corresponds to GM part number 22954463, which retails for $2,930.00; lastly, module 3 is made up of 125 cells and corresponds to GM part number 22954464, and retails for $4,933.33. These part numbers have been added to the dealer order systems but have not shown up in the distribution centers at this time. Although all three of the modules add up to a fairly large $11,121.66 total and are still on hold for dealer ordering, the good news is that in most cases these battery cell modules do not need to be replaced. There are many other individual pieces mounted on the battery pack that are serviceable, such as the Battery Energy Control Modules (BECM) and the Battery Interface Control Modules (BICM). These modules control and monitor the battery packs and charging system and have been known to fail while the lithium-ion battery cells are not at fault. Some have been replaced under warranty, but if you are stuck buying one they run about $255 a piece for the part.
