2002 - Chevrolet Camaro on 2040-cars
Bonita Springs, Florida, United States
2002 Chevrolet Camaro Convertible Z28 SS SLP 35th Anniversary Edition. There are many 2002 Camaros out there for sale, however few, you will find, are actual anniversary editions. This car is one of only 1398 convertibles that were produced in this model. Chevy made sure that when they produced what was thought to be the end of Camaros, that they would never be forgotten. This pristine automobile is surely an eye catcher and a great addition to any collection. The exterior of this car has beautiful, bright Rallye Red paint with wide dual stripes that fade from solid silver into a checkered flag and run from the front fascia, over the hood and onto the rear deck lid and spoiler. To commemorate the Camaros 35th birthday Chevy added special embroidered headrests on the deeply bolstered black leather bucket seats, special SS floor mats, and a dash plaque, just in case you didn't notice all of the other badges strategically placed throughout the car. This special anniversary edition only came one way, fully loaded. So AC, power windows and door locks, power drivers' seat, cruise control and a powerful Monsoon premium sound system were all included. There is no wear on the carpets, no fading on the dash and all the instruments spring to life when you turn the key. There's a power convertible top. GM splurged and gave this model a beautiful canvas covering that is usually reserved for more expensive vehicles. This car also comes with all original paperwork and books as well as 2 sets of keys and key fobs. This 35th Anniversary Edition SS has a 5.7-liter LS1 V8 engine with an output of 325-horsepower at 5,200 RPM. This rear-wheel drive vehicle has a top speed of 160 mph, 340 ft lbs torque and can go from 0-60 in 5.19 seconds. This Camaro also has a 4-speed automatic transmission and 345 HP Center exhaust performance package. The big disc brakes, at all four corners, live behind 17 inch alloys that are unique to this car as well as a set of Goodyear performance radials. As with all limited-edition models, this one will inevitably find its way on to many collectors' wish lists. This Convertible Camaro is in amazing, like new, condition. Always garage kept and never a daily driver. Please feel free to give me a call with any questions or concerns. Subprime financing on the rise in new car sales, leasing too
Fri, 07 Dec 2012We all remember the financial crisis that began several years back. At its core was a splurge of subprime lending for housing loans. The housing bubble burst, triggering a collapse of the mortgage-backed securities market. Apparently, those types of loans still exist in the automotive industry, and the market share for these types of "nonprime, subprime, and deep subprime," loans has grown 13.6 percent compared to the third quarter a year ago.
According to an Automotive News report, high-risk lending expanded to 24.8 percent of total loans in Q3, up from 21.9 percent for this time last year. As this level increased, average credit scores of borrowers dropped to 755, down from 763 a year ago. In that time, the average financing amount increased $90 per vehicle, to $25,963.
At 818, Volvo maintains the highest per-owner credit score, while Mitsubishi has the lowest, at 694. The highest rate of borrowers was at Toyota, with 14 percent of the market, followed by Ford with 13.1 percent and Chevrolet at 11.1.
Recharge Wrap-up: Chevy Volt CarPlay video, Tesla Supercharger importance
Fri, Feb 5 2016A video demonstrates Apple CarPlay on the touch display in the next-generation Chevrolet Volt. The Volt's eight-inch (bigger than an iPad Mini) capacitive display is capable of putting Siri and your iPhone apps and right at your fingertips. It's "the best CarPlay display I've seen," says the user in the video. In case you're not in the market for a new Volt, 9to5Mac offers some of its favorite aftermarket CarPlay screens. See the video above, and read more at 9to5Mac. A single Supercharger can make a big difference in the life of a Tesla owner. Teslarati's Electric Jen talks about purchasing a Model S, being assured by both Tesla employees and the map of planned Supercharger sites that one would be built along an important route for her. With the construction being pushed back, it made visiting family tricky. "As if owning such a grand car isn't embarrassing enough, asking for a ride to drop off and pick up said car because you can't make it home without charging really made me feel awkward," she says. "You see, one single charging location can mean the world to some people," Jen adds. Read the whole article at Teslarati. Tesla once had considered creating mobile range extender trailers for the Model S. Elon Musk touched upon the abandoned idea during his visit to Paris. While Tesla ultimately dismissed the concept, Nomadic Power has taken the opportunity to hitch their product onto the Tesla brand. "We are delighted, that Tesla Motors' CEO Elon Musk is thinking about a concept like ours for even more extending the range of the Tesla models," says Nomadic Power's CEO Manfred Baumgaertner. He adds, "This confirms our approach to build a long distance mobility provider for all electric vehicles on the market." If you say so, Baumgaertner. When the batteries have degraded to the point that they're no longer suitable for use on the road, they still have a significant capacity that can be used for other purposes. Still useful for stationary storage, they can be used to support charging sites in order to allow for faster charging. The stationary batteries can charge slowly at the site, but then offer up the juice in a hurry when it's needed for a vehicle. Read more from Renault.
