The LEGENDARY 1989 IROC-Z Camaro is one of Americas most memorable cars. High Torque, great styling and exciting performance are what make this car a classic.
Since I purchased the car last year I have invested over $2,000 dollars into it, since the car had been sitting in a storage unit for quite a while. New Radiator (not Chinese!!) because these cars are notorious for overheating (luckily I haven't overheated since I bought it and a new thermostat), Complete Engine Tune up, Magnaflow Performance Catalytic Converter, Brakes Service, California Emissions tuning etc. I love, LOVE, LOVE This car. Unfortunately it is time for me to focus on my 1967 Camaro and departing with this car is part of the process. It's clich? to say that my loss is your gain, but that is exactly the case here. I am losing money on the sale of this car but I would much rather see it go to someone who will take care of it. Third generation Camaro's represent a time when cool guys didn't look at explosions as they walked away, Tony Montana was Florida's kingpin, and Arnold Coined the words, "I'll be back". This car is definitely a time piece of the 80's, my favorite era. Though I wasn't born in that time period, I was able to enjoy the company of those who did, growing up. I'm sure you'll enjoy the hell out of this car. What a weird car description.. alright lets get down to it;

This is a 1989 IROC-Z28 Convertible, all original with only 71478 miles.

I have personally put 2000 miles into the car since I have legally been able to operate it in 14 November, 2013.

The good:
Clean California Title
Engine received tuning 500 miles ago
New Performance Magnaflow catalytic converter
New Radiator
New Thermostat
New Brake Master & Slave Cylinder
Great automatic transmission!
EXCELLENT 5.0l V8 TPI
Great convertible Top (clear rear plastic)
passed California Smog check with flying colors
Decent gas mileage (if you don't have a lead food)
Power windows
Power locks
Power Drivers seat
Hasn't leaked one bit since I purchased it! No oil, Tranny, Brake fluid, zip!

The bad:
Exterior paint-job needs slight touch ups
Interior needs some work (seats & horn button)
speedometer/Odometer is Inop (I have personally put 2k miles on it since I have been able to legally operate it in November 14, 2013)
Driver Door Hinge Pin needs to be replaced
Very light surface rust on the underbody, Chassis is structurally sound!
Starter motor is acting up

All in all this car is worth it. The thrill. The power. This is a true American Muscle Car.

Here are some videos of the car, its a virtual tour! Exterior, Interior, Drive.

GM will make Chevy Volt production announcement tomorrow

Mon, Apr 7 2014

Thing are apparently happening to get the next-generation Chevy Volt ready for public consumption. The most obvious proof is in a preview of an announcement (possibly coming tomorrow) that the two main places where General Motors gets the Volt ready -the Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly Plant and the Brownstown Township battery assembly facility - will be getting big money upgrades and lots of new positions. The Hamtramck plant builds the Volt and its fancier cousin, the Cadillac ELR, as well as the global versions of the Volt. The Detroit News reports that GM will add 1,400 jobs and spend roughly $450 million at the two locations in order to build the redesigned Volt. What's less clear is exactly what the updates will bring us. We've heard that the new volt will be a 2016 model and come on a new chassis. Speculation in The Detroit News about tomorrow's announcement runs the gamut from a new compact PHEV with less electric range and a lower price (which makes sense) to an updated Volt with more electric range (heard it before) to a new all-electric vehicle (the moon shot). If there's any hints to be gleaned in the international Volts, there are also reports coming in that the Opel brand will get an all-electric vehicle that is cheaper than the Ampera. Read into that what you will. We pestered GM's Kevin Kelly on the new Volt (again) and he said (again) that he couldn't give out any more detail other than what's been reported. He just told AutoblogGreen that there will be an announcement tomorrow and that it will be about the Hamtramck and Brownstown facilities and involve the Volt. So, stay tuned.

Why Cadillac thinks it needs to succeed in Europe to sell cars elsewhere

Tue, 26 Feb 2013

Ward's Auto has taken an interesting look at the renewed focus General Motors is showing towards Cadillac in Europe. Susan Docherty, president and managing director of Chevrolet and Cadillac in Europe (pictured), says in order for the luxury brand to thrive in China, it first needs to succeed in the old country. The reason? Chinese buyers look to Europe for cues as to what's deemed worthy of the term "luxury." There are hurdles to the plan, however. In addition to the fact that the EU is flooded with high-end nameplates, GM doesn't necessarily have the distribution network in place to put buyers behind the wheel.
Combine that with persistent economic woes and Cadillac's checkered past marred by a lack of diesel engine options and a bankrupt distributor, and the road ahead for the brand looks like less of an uphill climb and more like a straight-up cliff face. But Docherty is optimistic and says she has a plan for the brand. We recommend heading over to Ward's for a closer look at the full read.

Former Fisker CEO has some advice for Tesla Motors

Wed, Oct 22 2014

Former Fisker Automotive CEO and ex-Chevrolet Volt vehicle-line director Tony Posawatz has some words of caution for Tesla Motors. The long-time automaker executive questions the California automaker's long-term viability – and gives some praise – in a talk with Benzinga, which you can listen to below. While the all-wheel-drive D that Tesla unveiled earlier this month in Southern California wowed a packed crowd, Posawatz (starting at around minute 4:45 in the interview) says Tesla would've been better off taking the resources it expended toward that Model S upgrade and directed them towards speeding up the development of a more affordable plug-in. Perhaps a number of investors agreed, since the company's stock fell the day after the D was announced. Posawatz says Tesla has been over-reliant on the sale of ZEV credits. Posawatz also says that Tesla has been over-reliant on the sale of zero-emissions vehicle credits in California for its earnings and questions whether the automaker will ever work at a large enough scale to sufficiently drive down costs and make consistent profits. Tesla CEO Elon Musk would take issue with this characterization. Posawatz first made his mark in the plug-in vehicle world when he was the vehicle-line director at General Motors for the Volt extended-range plug-in from 2006 to 2012. Later that year, he joined extended-range plug-in maker Fisker Automotive as its CEO, though quit that job during the summer of 2013 as the company was descending into insolvency. He joined the Electrification Coalition this past March. News Source: Benzinga Green Chevrolet Fisker Tesla Electric PHEV Tony Posawatz
