Up for bid is a 1980 Camaro Z28. It is in excellent condition for its age.It runs , drives and stops just as should. Its a very nice driving car. It is a Van Nuys built car and was delivered to Gibson Company in Mesasha ,WI. 54952.It is a true Z28, with the CC1 option Hatch roof with the factory bags. (T-Tops !).It has all the Z 28 options such as Power brakes and power steering, Spoilers, Tilt Steering,Space Saver tire, Custom interior, tach in the dash, F-41 Performance suspension.Etc. I do have a copy of the build sheet as well as the original manual and pamphlets that came with the car.

BODY:
The body is in excellent condition with all original body panels, trunk and floors. The car was Ziebarted heavily when it was new and this kept the car nice and solid for the last 35 years. It did receive a paint job at sometime in the past and is not the best paint job by todays standards of paint jobs people put on muscle cars now.It has paint chips that have been touched up,and some dings here and there. It is far from perfect but it is a very honest car.No smoke and mirrors. It presents itself very well and a person could take great pride in driving it into any cruise in or car show.

Interior:
The interior is in very good condition. It is the custom cloth interior and not the standard vinyl. It is called Carmine red.No rips stains or fading. All the lights work, Dome light,Glove box light.original AM/FM radio is still in the car and working fine.Brake lights, turn signals,Tilt wheel, wipers etc. all work , even the seat belt lights! The headliner is nice and the T-Tops do not leak. The console cover closes but does not latch closed. The arm rest on the left door is a little loose and cracked at the top.Not very noticeable if your not looking for it.I would replace it since the rest of the interior is so nice.Ihave not found a good enough original one yet though.New reproductions are available though.

Engine:
The Z28 Proudly retains its original drive line. It has a LM1 350 4-Bbl engine that is bone stock and rated at 190 H.P.. Original Automatic transmission and 3.42 rear end. The Z28 also came standard with Power disc brakes. The Air Induction system is all in place and works great. When you put the pedal down the flaps on the back of the hood scoop open to bring in cold air.Very cool to see when your driving the car.

Misc:
The car has new duel exhaust and sounds very mellow. The tires are Cooper Cobra Radial G/T`s that are like new. The trunk lid will not stay open, there is a rod off it but it is there to be put back on.

Please feel free to ask any questions you may have.I have many more pictures of the car and would be happy to take pictures of any specific area. You may call or text (937)658-2717 for more information.I work 3rd shift so It may be the afternoon before i get back to you.The car is sold as is , where is.Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer but i will help work with shippers.I do require a $300 deposit thru paypal at auction end with the balance due within 5 days.I will store the car in my garage for 2 weeks until pick up.It should be picked up by 2 weeks of auction close.
Thanks for bidding and GOOD LUCK !!

15 vehicles most likely to surpass 200,000 miles

Tue, Mar 8 2022

Americans drive a lot. Collectively, we put, on average, more than 13,000 miles on our cars each year according to the U.S. Department of Transportation. Because of this, a vehicle's ability to travel long distances without major problems is a huge consideration when it comes time to purchase a new one. It's also worth remembering that keeping an older car on the road instead of trashing it and buying new can be considered an eco-friendly decision. After all, it takes a lot of resources to build a car. iSeeCars.com, a website that aggregates used car listings from all around the country, recently ran through the numbers on millions of vehicles that are currently on the road to determine which last the longest. Alternatively, you could choose to look at this list as vehicles likely to be driven by owners who travel long distances. Either way, we've laid out the top 15 vehicles most likely to hit or even surpass the 200,000-mile mark. It's important to note that while these are the vehicles that have stood the test of time up until today, we can't guarantee future results if you decide to opt for one of these from a current model year. That said, unless we specifically say so in the text below, we've used pictures of current models for illustrative purposes. Now, with all of that out of the way, scroll on down for the top 15 vehicles most likely to crest 200,000 miles. 15: Toyota Sienna 14: Honda Odyssey The 15th spot and 14th spot on the list of the top 15 vehicles most likely to surpass 200,000 miles are both minivans. Spoiler alert: They will be the only two minivans on the list. According to iSeeCars, 3.2% of both of these family haulers crest the 200,000-mile mark, making them the best bets for families looking to put a ton of miles on their machines. 13: Honda Ridgeline 12: GMC Yukon The next spot on the list is occupied by the Honda Ridgeline pickup truck with 3.7% lasting past 200,000 miles. Unlike any of the other midsize trucks it competes with, the Ridgeline is based on a unibody chassis. Opting for this more car-like structure — as opposed to a traditional body-on-frame layout — allows Honda's hauler to ride and drive more like a car. Up next is the GMC Yukon, also with 3.7% past the 200K mark, and the first, but very much not the last, big traditional SUV you'll see on the list. In fact, get ready to see a whole bunch of 'em, including several from GMC parent General Motors.

Jay Leno gets pulled over while roaring in a Corvette Z06 convertible

Tue, Jan 6 2015

No one is above the law, even if that person is a certain silver-haired auto enthusiast with a popular weekly video series about the cars in his garage. This week, Jay Leno experiences the 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Z06, but he also gets to have a meeting with some of California's Finest immediately after a high-speed blast. As opposed to the full-bore Z06 coupe with the seven-speed manual, Leno gets behind the wheel of the slightly heavier convertible version with the eight-speed auto. Being a droptop doesn't bother him too much, but Leno makes it obvious he wishes that he could be shifting for himself. Even if the auto is technically quicker, Leno says that swapping gears gives him something to do while driving. Of course, one of the major advantages of the convertible is the ability to listen to the Z06's thumping V8 unimpeded. With 650 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque from 6.2-liters of supercharged muscle, it already puts down impressive numbers, but the sound might just be the best part of all. Around town, the 'Vette is quiet enough to easily blend in with the rest of traffic. However, tip the throttle down and the valves in the exhaust open up to turn the engine into roaring monster. Be careful where you make this thing howl, though, because it's pretty easy for the police to take notice. The host finds that out the hard way in this week's episode of Jay Leno's Garage. 5 reasons why GM is cutting jobs, closing plants in a healthy economy

Tue, Nov 27 2018

DETROIT — Even though unemployment is low, the economy is growing and U.S. auto sales are near historic highs, General Motors is cutting thousands of jobs in a major restructuring aimed at generating cash to spend on innovation. It's the new reality for automakers that are faced with the present cost of designing gas-powered cars and trucks that appeal to buyers now while at the same time preparing for a future world of electric and autonomous vehicles. GM announced Monday that it will cut as many as 14,000 workers in North America and put five plants up for possible closure as it abandons many of its car models and restructures to focus more on autonomous and electric vehicles. The reductions could amount to as much as 8 percent of GM's global workforce of 180,000 employees. The cuts mark GM's first major downsizing since shedding thousands of jobs in the Great Recession. The company also said it will stop operating two additional factories outside North America by the end of next year. The move to make GM get leaner before the next downturn likely will be followed by Ford Motor Co., which also has struggled to keep one foot in the present and another in an ambiguous future of new mobility. Ford has been slower to react, but says it will lay off an unspecified number of white-collar workers as it exits much of the car market in favor of trucks and SUVs, some of them powered by batteries. Here's a rundown of the reasons behind the cuts: Coding, not combustion CEO Mary Barra said as cars and trucks become more complex, GM will need more computer coders but fewer engineers who work on internal combustion engines. "The vehicle has become much more software-oriented" with millions of lines of code, she said. "We still need many technical resources in the company." Shedding sedans The restructuring also reflects changing North American auto markets as manufacturers continue to shift away from cars toward SUVs and trucks. In October, almost 65 percent of new vehicles sold in the U.S. were trucks or SUVs. That figure was about 50 percent cars just five years ago. GM is shedding cars largely because it doesn't make money on them, Citi analyst Itay Michaeli wrote in a note to investors. "We estimate sedans operate at a significant loss, hence the need for classic restructuring," he wrote. The reduction includes about 8,000 white-collar employees, or 15 percent of GM's North American white-collar workforce. Some will take buyouts while others will be laid off.
