Camaro SS Pro Street. 396 Engine. Absolutely amazing and one of a kind 1968 Camaro SS "SHOW CAR"

International buyers are welcome to bid and buy but have to arrange for shipping themselves. I will assist.

Reserve price is set extremely low (less than 1/2 the value) for quick sale. Please do not ask about the reserve amount. Just want to be fare to everyone bidding.

Vehicle was appraised by NHRA s announcer that was hired by AAA insurance company two years ago for insurance purpose (30% less than market value) for $50K. Today, the value would be over $70K
He called the car as flawless and drop dead gorgeous.

This car is a Barrett-Jackson quality show car and is absolutely flawless and beautiful. Paint job alone is worth over $15K

This car is not your average 1968 Camaro you see on Ebay or anywhere else. I have only seen two Camaros in this condition and they were priced and sold for $80,000.00-$100,000
Fully restored to perfection and to the maximum level. No short cuts were made anywhere. Has less than 500 miles on the car after completion. Paint job alone is worth $15K and is absolutely flawless.
The vehicle was restored from ground,up and the roll bar was built within the chassis of the vehicle. High quality racing leather seats with heavy duty shoulder and base harness/seat belt.
Push button start. Stereo system with LCD display and remote. Front disc brake system. Way too much to list. Basically, like a brand new car from the ground up. Estimated way over 550HP on this puppy(not dyno tested).
Vehicle was built for a 1/4 mile, but was never raced. I enjoy showing and driving the car on the street. It recieves lots of attention on the show ground and lots of thumbs up on the street.

So, why am I selling it? I just got hired and need a high end car for my work. Otherwise, I would never sell it. This is an amazing investment that will only gain in value.
No reasonable offer will be turned down.

Would consider trading with: 2010 and newer Mercedes Benz S or CL class or better, 2005-2006 Bentley Continental (2 or 4 door), 2008 and newer Porsche (4S or Turbo).

For any questions please call Tony (818)288-4101

PS! Absolutely NO joy rides on this car.

PS!  I think there is a mistake on the engine size listed. I want to thank those who brought it to my attention. So, the way it looks like we have a small block instead of big block. Possibly a 350 engine. Either way, its extremely powerful.
I apologize for any misunderstanding or inconvenience this mistake may have caused you. It was not intentional.

Chevy, Kid Rock in Confederate flag row with civil rights group

Mon, Jul 13 2015

Two of Detroit's own are ensnared in controversy today. In an interview with Fox News' Megyn Kelly, mulleted musician Kid Rock told those protesting the Confederate Battle Flag to "kiss my ass." Now, Chevrolet, which is sponsoring Rock's summer concert tour, is under fire for its support. "We are committed to our sponsorship of Kid Rock's summer tour and are confident that he will provide his fans, many of whom are proud Chevrolet owners, with a spectacular concert experience that celebrates American Freedom," a Chevy spokesperson told The Detroit Free Press last week. The company also uses the Kid Rock anthem Born Free in its pickup truck advertising. The company's position is not sitting well with the Detroit chapter of the National Action Network, though, which has called on GM to pull its support for the embattled artist. "It's obvious to us that, by supporting [Rock], while he's making inflammatory statements, General Motors becomes an accomplice if they allow him their support to stand behind his statements," the Rev. Charles Williams II, NAN's Detroit chapter director, told the Freep. As controversial as Rock's comments are, it's not entirely clear when the last time he actually waved that flag was. The Freep reports that several concertgoers don't recall seeing the flag during his most recent tour, or even over the last few years of concerts. In a 2002 interview with the paper, Rock, real name Robert Ritchie, said that the flag had been used as a symbol of southern rock and a rebel spirit, saying: "It's not about hatred or being a racist. I like Southern rock music, and a lot of people died under that flag for beliefs they had, right or wrong. But it stands for rebel, and my love of Southern rock." Related Video:

Recharge Wrap-up: meet the Luka EV project, VisibleTesla allows Model S hacking

Tue, May 12 2015

Select Registry is partnering with Tesla to install chargers at many of its lodgings. More than 170 hotels, inns and bed & breakfasts will install Tesla High Power Wall Connectors for their guests to use. So far, 63 properties have installed the chargers. Eventually, Select Registry members in 34 states as well as Nova Scotia will offer charging on-site. Tesla's wall charger provides the Model S with 58 miles of range per hour. The hotels will rent you a room for the full night, as well. Read more in the press release below. Tesla Model S owners can hack their car with the VisibleTesla app. The free, open source app allows users to check on and control the status of the car and its subsystems, similar to Tesla's official apps. VisibleTesla can also be used to schedule certain automated commands. For example, its creator, Joe Pasqua, has his car send him a text message reminding him to bring his bags with him when he enters the grocery store parking lot. Other users have the car remind them if the car is not charging at a certain time, or schedule the car to turn on the heat before departure. Read more at TechWorm, or learn more at the VisibleTesla website. Georgia Power has added 32 Chevrolet Volts to its fleet. Employees, particularly the utility's energy efficiency experts, will use the cars to travel to customers' homes and businesses to conduct energy audits. "We are leading by example and demonstrating to our customers, and other Georgia businesses, that electric transportation works for all drivers," says Georgia Power Chairman, President & CEO Paul Bowers. Georgia Power also offers charger rebates and special rates for EV customers. Read more at Domestic Fuel. The Luka EV is a project to build an affordable, lightweight, retro-looking, road-legal electric car in one year. The team wants to get the car certified for use on EU roads by September 2015. They have goals of achieving a driving range of 300 kilometers (about 186 miles), keeping the cost under ˆ20,000 (about $22,280 US at current rates) and the weight under 750 kilograms (about 1,650 pounds). The builders recently completed their first range test of the working vehicle, which uses in-hub motors for propulsion. Learn more at the Luka EV project page on Hackaday. Autoblog In Cuba: 1957 Chevy Bel Air Review

Mon, Oct 5 2015

If you've been following the Autoblog In Cuba series, you may remember that my efforts to rent a car in the country were ultimately unsuccessful. Misinformation, bad planning, and a lack of rental car inventory conspired to disrupt my hoped-for driving adventure. I discovered in my week of exploration, however, that the terrific thing about Havana is that there's always another adventure to be found – if you're willing to look. A car I could drive myself might have been impossible to come by, but a ride to remember was not. After all, even when reviewing a new car, I've found that impressions about the car and the route can be credibly formed from the right seat. Starting from the parking lot of the grand Hotel Nacional, finding an interesting car for hire is as simple as walking up and down the block. Scads of classic American iron wait just outside the hotel gates, in a riot of colors and conditions befitting the tropical climate. Fords from the 1940s are plentiful – more sedans than coupes – and the glory days of General Motors are represented by enough Pontiacs and Cadillacs to fill a Bruce Springsteen B-sides album. But the Chevy Bel Air is the king of the road here, by some margin. View 30 Photos I settled on a burnt orange 1957 Chevy Bel Air convertible, in tourist-appropriate condition. I was looking for a hardtop at the request of my crew's audio/video needs, but settled on a burnt orange 1957 Chevy Bel Air convertible, in tourist-appropriate condition. This car might look good as a prop in the background on your vacation photos – hair blowing in the breeze with the ocean at your back, parked in front of Che's face in Revolution Square, etc. – but was far from pristine on a closer inspection. A perfect representative of the Cuban average. At least the price was right: $50 for two hours to make it 12 miles to Hemingway's house, and back. My driver was a kid named Daniel who looked to be about 20 years old. The Chevy doesn't belong to him, he co-drives it with the owner, but he was able to give me the basic mechanical rundown. The eight- or six-cylinder engine that Chevy shipped this convertible with was long gone. No surprise there, as nearly every American-made car I'd ridden in so far was powered by some belching Mercedes diesel. Despite it's clattering note, Daniel said the lump under the hood of the '57 drinks gas: a four-cylinder of Russian origins, pulled out of a GAZ Volga as best I can understand.
