1992 Chevrolet C3500 Silverado Standard Cab Pickup 2-Door 7.4L NO RUST dump bed

up for sale is a 92 chevy truck 4x2 auto 88,000 miles orginal. this truck is heavier then a one ton.its like a ton and a half, it has the 10 bolt rear wheels with the 19.5 in diameter virgin tires. 19.5 are al whole lot heavy duty tire then a 16 or 17 in diameter pick up tire... these 19.5 are like mini semi truck tires, very heavy duty. if you have a load to haul, this truck is the deal.  has no rust. has a new side fuel tank. has a super heavy duty recevier rear hitch. the rear tail lights and back up light are brand new l.e.d. lights, very bight. the tailight boxes are brand new too. the truck has 7 flat style plug in end hook up on it also new. engine is a 454 and runs strong. this thing runs and drives good, but it isnot a cadilac, it is extremly heavy duty. the suspension is very strong, so it rides rough, with out weight in the truck, but thats how the truck was built and how it is designed to be. the body on this great is very nice, no rust. it has never been driven in the winter. the was used by a local sign shop. it has a job box on it with a man lift on it. those items were removed as the sign company put them on there new truck. the truck frame was shortened about 2 feet (rear axle was not removed or altered). the box with sissor hosit with cyld were just installed, all very heavy duty. the sides are removable. the wood is all 2 in hardwood. there is a cut out in the bed floor for a 2 5/16 goose neck ball hitch set up. the only thing that this truck needs is a pump set up to operate the dump bed. we had a unit that we were going to install on this truck, but didnt get around to it and wont be able to. i am selling this for my freind who has left it in my care as he moved to AK the last frontier. he was building this truck like he was going to keep it for ever and taking care to do it right, but due to the move to ak it just is not cost effective to move it there. the truck is located 15 miles north of medford, wi 54490 and going to be sold. i am leaving out of town march 1-2 to sikeston, mo. there is a good possiblity that we can work out some hauling if its along this route we meet or deliver. contact me on my cell anytime for more info on this truck and i will try and help out to the best of my ability 715-490-0921 you wont be disapointed with this truck.

GM puts e-commerce shopping in car dashboards

Tue, Dec 5 2017

DETROIT — General Motors on Tuesday said it will equip newer cars with in-dash e-commerce technology, betting it can profit as drivers order food, find fuel or reserve hotel rooms by tapping icons on the dashboard screen, instead of using smartphones while driving. GM's Marketplace technology, developed with IBM, will be uploaded automatically to about 1.9 million model-year 2017 and later vehicles starting immediately, with about 4 million vehicles across the Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac brands equipped with the capability in the United States by the end of 2018, GM said. GM will get an undisclosed amount of revenue from merchants featured on its in-dash Marketplace, Santiago Chamorro, GM vice president for global connected customer experience, said during a briefing for reporters. Customers will not be charged for using the service or the data transmitted to and from the car while making transactions, he said. "This platform is financed by the merchants," Chamorro said. GM will get paid for placing a merchant's application on its screens, and "there's some level of revenue sharing" based on each transaction, he said. It is too soon to say how much revenue GM could realize from the Marketplace system, he said. The GM Marketplace will compete for customer clicks and revenue with hand-held smartphones, which offer a far richer array of applications than the GM system will at the outset. Amazon.com is partnering with other automakers, including Ford, to offer in-car e-commerce capability through Amazon's Alexa personal assistant system. For example, GM will launch Marketplace with just Shell and Exxon Mobil icons in the fuel category. The only restaurant available for in-car table reservations at launch is the chain TGI Fridays, GM said. In addition, there will be apps for parking, and ordering ahead at coffee shops and restaurants such as Starbucks, Dunkin' Donuts and Applebee's. "We will be adding more vendors," with some coming in the first quarter of 2018, Chamorro said. In addition, he said GM plans to expand integration into its vehicles of music, news and other information services. GM also hopes to use its in-car Marketplace connections to expand purchases of products and services, such as additional access to in-car wifi, from its own replacement parts business and dealer network. Customers can "expect to see more service promotions coming through the platform," Chamorro said. Reporting by Joe WhiteRelated Video:

Auto sales in March and first quarter down nearly across the board

Wed, Apr 3 2019

Nearly every major automaker reported weak U.S. sales for March and the first quarter of 2019, citing a rough start to the year, but said a robust economy and strong labor market should encourage consumers to buy more vehicles as 2019 rolls on. GM, which no longer releases monthly sales figures, saw first-quarter sales fall 7 percent, with declines across all brands. Sales of Silverado pickup trucks fell nearly 16 percent and the high-margin Chevy Suburban large SUV dropped 25 percent. Ford also no longer releases monthly sales numbers, but is due to release its first-quarter sales figures on Thursday. According to industry data, Ford's sales fell 2 percent in the quarter and 5 percent in March. Ford representatives did not immediately respond to requests for comment. FCA reported a 7 percent fall in U.S. sales in March and a 3 percent drop for the first quarter. All of FCA's brands dropped in March, except for Ram, which saw a 15 percent increase in pickup truck sales. "The industry had a tough first quarter, but with spring finally starting to show its face and continued strong economic indicators ... we are confident that new vehicle sales demand will strengthen going forward," FCA's U.S. head of sales, Reid Bigland, said in a statement. Toyota reported a 3.5 percent fall in U.S. sales in March and 5 percent for the first quarter, hurt by declining demand for its Corolla sedans and Camry vehicles. "While some of our competitors are abandoning sedans, we remain optimistic about the future of the segment," Toyota said in a statement. Nissan posted a 5.3 percent drop in sales in March, and its first-quarter sales were down 11.6 percent. Honda and Hyundai bucked the trend. Honda's U.S. sales rose 4.3 percent in March and 2 percent in the quarter, while Hyundai's were up 1.7 percent and 2.1 percent, respectively. Passenger-car sales suffered throughout the January-March quarter compared with the same period in 2018 as Americans continued to abandon them in favor of larger, more comfortable pickup trucks and SUVs, which are far more profitable for automakers. The battle for market share in the particularly lucrative large-pickup truck market intensified in the quarter, as Fiat Chrysler Automobiles' Ram brand outsold the U.S.' No. 1 automaker General Motors' Chevrolet-brand trucks. The two automakers have both launched redesigned pickup trucks.

Question of the Day: Worst year of the Malaise Era?

Thu, Jun 23 2016

The Malaise Era for cars in the United States spanned the 1973 through 1983 model years, and featured such abominations as a Corvette with just 205 horsepower (from the optional engine!) and MGBs with suspensions jacked way up to meet new headlight-height requirements. There were many low points throughout this gloomy period, of course. The horrifyingly low power and fuel-economy numbers for big V8s during the middle years of the Malaise Era make a strong case for 1974 or 1975— the years of Nixon's resignation and the Fall of Saigon, respectively— as the most Malaisey years. But then the GM-pummeling debacles of the Chevy Citation and Cadillac Cimarron could make an early-1980s year the low point. 1979, the year of the ignominious Chrysler bailout? You choose!
