1987 Chevrolet silverado k30 Up for auction is my fully restored 1987 big block Chevrolet truck. This truck is my pride and joy and I swore I would never sell it but I have reached a point where I no longer ever drive it or get out and enjoy it. Since I purchased the truck I have only put about 400 miles on the truck so that gives you a little idea of how little this truck gets driven. The main reason I have decided to sell it though is I am looking to purchase a new bass boat for the upcoming 2015 tournament season and I could use the money from the sale of my truck for a down payment on the new boat so here it is. This truck is a absolute beast and looks great doing it at the same time. Not 1 penny was spared on the build. I purchased the truck 3 years ago from the original owner of the truck. He bought the truck new in 1987 and after letting it sit for 12 years do to a bad trans, he decided to restore it about 5 years ago. He did a full cab off build and the results speak for themselves. There was 11k spent on the body work and paint job alone. The only thing that was not replaced was all the original interior was reinstalled. The interior is still in good shape but I have all new interior for The truck that just needs to be installed. All of the new interior is black in color except for the seats and center console which are a tan leather. Please see the attached pictures but you will see I have a full room of brand new in the box interior for the truck, about $4200.00 worth of new interior to be exact. I have new dash, carpet, bucket seats and center console, rubber headliner with built in speakers, door panels, a/c control panel, blower motor, and I even have a brand new in the box 1 piece window kit with new regulators. This kit alone was $850.00 and it's all new in the box. Trucks also comes with a brand new complete set of auto meter gauges that were installed when I bought the truck and custom dash bezel. Drive train wise this truck is built right and bullet proof. Truck has a professionally built 468 big block from W.C performance here in Sarasota, fl in it, motor was dyno' d on a stand before being installed in the truck at the time of the build. The motor made 661 hp on cam 2 on the stand. The truck runs good on 93 but is a different beast on cam 2 which is all I run in it. Dana 60 front and corporate 14 bolt in the rear, 4.88 gears front and rear with a spool in the rear and eaton locker in the front. Trans wise the truck has a turbo 400 with 2200 stall and Kevlar clutches. 205 t case and custom traction bars. The truck has disc brakes all the way around. I'm sure there is a lot of things I missed and if you have any questions please feel free to ask. You can message me or call me on my cell at 941 809 5105. If I mis your call just leave a message and I will get back to you as soon as I can. I would be willing to trade for a 2006 or newer bass boat ( ranger, skeeter, nitro or stratos. I am not interested in any other makes so please don't ask) with at least a 200 on it, if the boat is in great shape I will be willing to work with you, other than this I will not except any other trades so please do not waste my time or yours. Please make sure all funds are available before bidding. I payed 15k for the truck 3 years ago. I have since put the brand new 40 inch boggers and 16.5 x 14 wheels on the truck at the tune of $4000.00 dollars, the auto Meter gauges at $1100.00 and I also have another $4200.00 dollars worth of interior that will come with the truck. Now obviously I do not expect to get all my money out of the truck but please don't insult me with low ball offers. I am starting the bidding at $12,500 with no reserve but I will not except a penny less. The good thing is I don't need the money so if it doesn't sell it doesn't matter. Also keep in mind I have the truck for sale locally and I reserve the right to cancel the auction at any time if truck sells locally. Please see attached photos for the few flaws the truck has. There is a baseball sized spider web in the paint and clear on the drivers door where a dent was removed several years ago by a paint less dent guy and the paint and clear seperated unfortunatly. There is also a spot on the passenger door where the clear coat is burned from trying to buff off 2 sided tape from a old rain guard. Other than these 2 minor spots this truck is cosmetically flawless and 100% rust free. Both cab corners, floor board in the cab, both doors and hood were replaced with new panels from lmc before truck was painted so truck would be 100% rust free. Thank you for looking and good luck bidding. *please keep in mind there will be a $2000.00 non refundable deposit due via pay pal within 48 hours of auction close. If full payment is not received via cash in person or wire transfer from bank within 7 days of auction end the $2000.00 deposit will be forfeited and truck will be relisted. Please make sure you have the full amount available before bidding to avoid this happening. Thank you in advance for your understanding on this. |

Danica Patrick hands over keys to first 2016 Chevy Camaro
Mon, Nov 9 2015Alican "Turk" Boyacioglu got more than he expected this weekend when he picked up his new 2016 Chevy Camaro, the very first sixth-gen Camaro to be delivered to a private customer. That's because racer Danica Patrick was on hand for the delivery. The handing over of the keys took place at Texas Motor Speedway – a stop along the brand's Find New Roads trip. The journey is being conducted to introduce America to five new Chevy models: the Camaro and also the new Malibu, Cruze, Volt, and Spark. The road trip kicked off on October 19 and will conclude next week on November 14. Boyacioglu ordered up a red Camaro SS from Huffines Chevrolet in Lewisville, TX, north of Dallas. When he headed from Kansas to northern Texas to take delivery, he was pleasantly surprised to see Danica climb out of the car to hand him the keys. Though she may have raced under Honda power during her IndyCar days, Danica's NASCAR stock cars have always been powered by Chevrolet. She even drove a Camaro in the Nationwide Series. The smile on Turk's face ought to last him the nearly five-hour drive home to Wichita. For everyone else, deliveries are set to commence in earnest in the middle of this month. The first models to be delivered will be V6 coupes. Convertibles and turbo-four models will start shipping early in the new year. Customers will be able to choose between six powertrain combinations, made up of the 2.0-liter turbo four, the 3.6-liter V6, and the 6.2-liter V8, each available with a six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic. Pricing starts at $26,695 for the base 1LT trim and extends up to $37,295 for the 1SS. DANICA PATRICK SURPRISES CUSTOMER WITH 2016 CAMARO Huffines Chevrolet delivers first 2016 Camaro to Alican 'Turk' Boyacioglu DALLAS – Racecar driver Danica Patrick helped the team at Huffines Chevrolet deliver the first sixth-generation Camaro to a customer from Wichita, Kan., at the Texas Motor Speedway stop of Chevrolet's Find New Roads Trip today. Alican "Turk" Boyacioglu had been eagerly tracking the build of his 2016 Camaro SS and could not contain his excitement when Patrick emerged from the car and handed him the keys. "This whole experience was surreal," Boyacioglu said.
Nissan Leaf has outsold Chevy Volt by 50% so far in 2015
Tue, Sep 1 2015We know, we know. The Chevy Volt and Nissan Leaf sales numbers for mid- to late-2015 aren't all that meaningful because of the impending arrival of the next-gen Volt and the expected but not-yet-totally-confirmed debut of the second version of the Leaf. Nonetheless, tracking the sales of the first two major plug-in vehicles is something that remains interesting to us, if for nothing else that the all-electric Leaf remains slightly more popular than the plug-in hybrid Volt after all this time. If we just look at August, the numbers were basically tied in the US. Chevy sold 1,380 Volts while Nissan moved 1,393 Leafs. But when we take a 10,000-foot view, the differences starts to appear. So far in 2015, GM has sold 8,315 Chevy Volts while Nissan has sold 12,383 Leafs. That means that the Nissan has outsold the Chevy by around 50 percent (to be specific, it's 48.92 percent). Since the two vehicles went on sale in the US at roughly the same time at the end of 2010, 81,672 Volts have been sold, compared to 84,705 Leafs. That's a difference of only 3,033 vehicles, so proponents of both powertrains can hold their heads high. Looking just at last month, Volt sales were 45 percent lower compared to August 2014. So far this year, Volt sales are down 36.7 percent. The Leaf didn't fare any better. Month-to-month, Leaf sales were down 43.7 percent in August, while year-to-date, Leaf sales are down 65.3 percent. Those second-gen models can't come soon enough. As always, we'll have our broader wrap-up of monthly green car sales for August up soon. Stay tuned. Green Chevrolet Nissan Electric Hybrid ev sales
'Killing a Duramax' Gale Banks YouTube series methodically tunes a diesel to death
Thu, Feb 27 2020Learning or perfecting a skill by watching YouTube videos is known as attending YouTube University. GM Authority picked up on one of the video site's more fascinating courses, hosted by Gale Banks; in a fair world, he should be referred to as Professor Banks when it comes to diesel engines and truck tuning. A few months after GM introduced the updated L5P 6.6-liter Duramax diesel V8 in the 2020 Chevrolet Silverado HD and GMC Sierra HD that ships with 454 horsepower and 910 pound-feet of torque, Banks decided he wanted to methodically tune the engine to death. The purpose of the resulting series, called "Killing a Duramax," is to push more power out of the engine in order to discover which parts break and when — or, as Banks puts it, force-feed the Duramax "until the crank hits the street and the heads hit the hood." With that knowledge, Banks can figure out all the weak points on his way to building what he calls a "Superturbo," that being a supercharged, twin-turbo race engine with more than 1,000 hp. What makes the series fascinating is Banks' knowledge, paired with the company's comprehensive iDash engine monitoring system that keeps tabs on a glut of parameters every step of the way. So for instance, you get Banks explaining the differences between inches of mercury and barometric pressure, how those are different from the water content of the air measured in grains, then showing those readouts on the iDash, then explaining in detail how they affect the air density in the Duramax system. The stock Borg-Warner variable turbo gets a lot of airtime — Banks accuses it of being "out to lunch" because he feels it's the weakest link on the engine. That turns into a turbo teardown and a deep explanation of performance pitfalls, such as when air pressure on the turbine begins to diverge from the boost pressure coming from the compressor. Banks says he can keep close tabs on where power's coming from, because the iDash monitors the horsepower contribution provided by the ambient air, the turbo, and the intercooler separately. The major changes so far are a stouter Precision 7675 turbo and TurboSmart wastegate (episode 5), a twin intake (episode 6), a custom liquid-cooled intercooler from a marine engine, a new GM oil cooler and synthetic oil (episode 10), and new injectors (episode 11).
