Up for sales is a very clean, custom, 1987 Chevrolet SIlverado V1500 short bed 4x4.
There are 57,780 original miles on the truck.
The Black paint is original and in great shape except for rock chips on the lower portion. See the pictures. The truck is straight as an arrow though. There is no heavy rust anywhere on the truck, in fact the only surface rust I can see is where the rock chips are. The truck had been undercoated front to back at one point, although it has started to flake in the front wheel wells. Not the paint, just the coating. It did its job of protecting everything, where it is peeling looks brand new underneath.
The bed has a do it yourself bed liner as well as a rubber mat.
The second owner of the truck switched the interior from Tan to Black using mostly GM products.
The interior is in great shape.
-- The carpet is very clean.
--The tilt column is still nice and tight
-- No tears or seams splitting on the seat.
--The dash has no cracks and is still soft.
--The door panels and arm rest are like new.
-- it has been garaged when not being drove its whole life.
It has a kenwood cd player.
He also had the sunroof installed. The sunroof does not leak..
The heat and air conditioning work great. The fan blows on all speeds, the mode selector works great. The heat will heat you out in the winter and the A/c blows ice cold. The refrigerant has been converted to 134a
All gauges and warning lights work as they should.
All exterior lights and signals work properly
The only thing that does not work is the cruise control.
The truck has power windows and power locks which work great. The windows roll up and down as they should, not slow and sticky like a lot of GMs of that era. The locks also function properly.
The first owner of the truck had the truck lifted and 3/4 ton running gear installed, The running gear was installed by Power-Train of Indianapolis. The rear axle is a Corporate14 bolt. It has the bigger 13 inch brakes, 4.10 gears, and gov-lok limited slip. The front axle is the "Big Hub" dana 44, open differential, 4.10 gears. It has disc brakes and Warn Premium lockouts.
The lift consist of suspension and body. The front springs are 6 inch lift springs. The rear uses 5 inch block. It also has a 1 inch body lift.
The truck rides on 315/75/16 (35x12.5) Firestone Destination M/T's that only have a few hundred miles on them. They are mounted on 16x10 Ion Aluminum wheels
The fuel injected 5.7 (350) engine has not been modified. It starts easy and runs great. There are no leaks currently
The 700r4 automatic transmission shifts great and does not leak.
The transfer case is the NP208 (chain drive, aluminum housing). It shifts through all ranges fine and has no leaks.
I wouldnt hesitate for a second to hop in and drive this anywhere.
Feel free to email or call with questions, for more pictures, or even offers.
The truck does have a clear Kansas title.
Clean Autocheck . 3 owners, rated 55 out of 53. I can foward a copy if ebay does not link up to the report to those interested

How Chevy Silverado, GMC Sierra will take on the Ford F-150 profit machine
Fri, Aug 10 2018FORT WAYNE, Ind. — When General Motors engineers were developing the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra pickup trucks, some of them joined public tours of Ford's Dearborn, Mich., factory to watch aluminum-bodied F-Series trucks go down the assembly line. The redesign of the Ford F-Series trucks, launched in 2014, set a new standard for fuel economy and lightweight vehicle construction. But armed with stopwatches and trained eyes, the GM engineers believed they saw problems. "They had a real hard time getting those doors to fit," Tim Herrick, the executive chief engineer for GM truck programs, told Reuters. His team did more intelligence gathering. They bought and tore apart Ford F-Series doors sold as repair parts. Their conclusion: GM could cut weight in its trucks for a lower cost using doors made of a combination of aluminum and high-strength steel that could be thinner than standard steel, shaving off kilograms in the process. These pounds-and-pennies decisions will have major implications in the highest-stakes game going in Detroit: dominance in the world's most profitable vehicle market, the gasoline-fueled large pickup segment. What's more, GM is banking on strong sales of overhauled 2019 Silverados and GMC Sierras to fund its push into automated and electric vehicles — a business many investors see as the auto industry's long-term future. The risks are high given the hits automakers have taken from U.S. President Donald Trump's trade policies. Rising aluminum prices spurred by Trump's tariffs are driving up costs on the Ford's F-Series, while rising steel and aluminum prices likewise drag on GM results. GM also has a significant risk should the United States, Mexico and Canada fail to agree on a new NAFTA trade deal, given GM trucks built at its Silao, Mexico, factory could face a 25 percent tariff if NAFTA collapses. Major profit per truck Interviews with GM executives and a tour at its factory here in northwest Indiana provide a detailed look inside GM's plan for the most important vehicles in its global lineup. These big pickups are everything Tesla's Model 3 or Chevy's Bolt electric car is not. The mostly steel body is bolted to the truck's steel frame, rather than the one-piece body and frame electric vehicles. The majority of trucks will have a V-8 gasoline engine powering the rear wheels — like the classic GM cars of the 1950s. Some Silverados will have new four-cylinder engines, but there is no electric or hybrid offering as of now.
GM recalling 135,000 SUVs with plastic jacks that can break
Sat, Jun 19 2021General Motors is recalling 135,400 compact crossovers because their emergency jack can break under load. The problem occurs when the jack — which is plastic — isn't positioned correctly as detailed in the owner's manual. This can cause the jack to fracture. If the jack breaks and the vehicle collapses, there's a risk of injury or death, according to an NHTSA recall alert. The recall involves the 2020-22 Buick Encore GX and 2021-22 Chevrolet Trailblazer. A GM test driver discovered the problem when he broke a jack during a durability test on a Trailblazer. GM started investigating in April and found 21 claims of jack failures, including one reported injury. "This jack design may not be sufficiently robust against fractures if improperly or incorrectly positioned on the vehicle frame by the user," a NHTSA safety report said. GM will start notifying vehicle owners July 26. It will provide free replacement jacks that are made of metal.  Featured Gallery 2021 Buick Encore GX View 21 Photos Recalls Buick Chevrolet GM
Bring back the Bronco! Trademarks we hope are actually (someday) future car names
Tue, Mar 17 2015Trademark filings are the tea leaves of the auto industry. Read them carefully – and interpret them correctly – and you might be previewing an automaker's future product plans. Yes, they're routinely filed to maintain the rights to an iconic name. And sometimes they're only for toys and clothing. But not always. Sometimes, the truth is right in front of us. The trademark is required because a company actually wants to use the name on a new car. With that in mind, here's a list of intriguing trademark filings we want to see go from paperwork to production reality. Trademark: Bronco Company: Ford Previous Use: The Bronco was a long-running SUV that lived from 1966-1996. It's one of America's original SUVs and was responsible for the increased popularity of the segment. Still, it's best known as O.J. Simpson's would-be getaway car. We think: The Bronco was an icon. Everyone seems to want a Wrangler-fighter – Ford used to have a good one. Enough time has passed that the O.J. police chase isn't the immediate image conjured by the Bronco anymore. Even if we're doing a wish list in no particular order, the Bronco still finds its way to the top. For now (unfortunately), it's just federal paperwork. Rumors on this one can get especially heated. The official word from a Ford spokesman is: "Companies renew trademark filings to maintain ownership and control of the mark, even if it is not currently used. Ford values the iconic Bronco name and history." Trademarks: Aviator, AV8R Company: Ford Previous Use: The Aviator was one of the shortest-run Lincolns ever, lasting for the 2003-2005 model years. It never found the sales success of the Ford Explorer, with which it shared a platform. We Think: The Aviator name no longer fits with Lincoln's naming nomenclature. Too bad, it's better than any other name Lincoln currently uses, save for its former big brother, the Navigator. Perhaps we're barking up the wrong tree, though. Ford has made several customized, aviation themed-Mustangs in the past, including one called the Mustang AV8R in 2008, which had cues from the US Air Force's F-22 Raptor fighter jet. It sold for $500,000 at auction, and the glass roof – which is reminiscent of a fighter jet cockpit – helped Ford popularize the feature. Trademark: EcoBeast Company: Ford Previous Use: None by major carmakers.
