62 Chevy C-10 Patina, Rat Rod Pickup No Reserve!! on 2040-cars
Jamestown, New York, United States
Up for auction NO RESERVE is my super cool 1962 Chevy c-10 pickup patina, rat rod! The engine is a very power full 377 c.i Chevy small block with edelbrock aluminum heads. I purchased the truck lowered and painted about a year ago and really enjoyed the attention it gets everywhere you go! The floor pans were replaced by previous owner and were layed over the original pans and truck bed undercoated (they did a great job)! Truck was lowered in rear by heating original springs and front springs were replaced to lower the front. I installed dual exhaust so this rig really sounds mean! All the lights work as they should, runs, stops, and drives awesome! This is a very nice driver just as it is! Get in and drive with no major repairs needed. Brakes hoses and wheel cylinders were replace by previous owner and I replaced left lower ball joint, I believe the idler arm was also recently replaced. The only part of the body that is really rusted is both front fender bottoms, they weren't replaced because it really went with the look of the truck. I have new fender bottoms which I will include to the winning bidder. Remember this is a rat rod and not a perfect show truck, as most of these old c-10 trucks the inside of the cab near the windshield is rusted and has holes. The rust dosen't go threw to the outside, again it really goes with the look of the truck. Several places inside and out you will find custom pin stripping that really looks cool! Frame is super solid! Please ask question prior to bidding, the truck is for sale locally so I reserve the right to end auction early although id love to see the bidding reach its reserve! I encourage anyone interested to come see the truck, im not trying to hide anything and truthfully I don't want to sell my toy but family comes first! Bid to win!! |

Seventies super-salesman challenges new car-sales record
Wed, Feb 21 2018Some of the fondest memories from my youth were the Sunday afternoons spent walking between rows of new and used cars. This preceded the advent of widely available internet, so the cars didn't sell themselves online: A tentative buyer had to come see the cars in the metal, with old-school salesmen taking well-earned smoke breaks after putting someone behind the wheel of a new Saab 900. All-inclusive subscription services were unheard of. If you open a Guinness records book and look up car salesmen, you'll find Joe Girard. The definitely old-school Detroit salesman regularly sold over 1,000 new cars per year, with a particular high point of 1,425 cars in 1973 guaranteeing him a mention in the Guinness book. To reach that kind of sales figure, you had to be a pretty special salesman, and Girard was. He didn't take breaks unless absolutely necessary, and even his lunch hours were dedicated to selling more cars instead of shooting the breeze with other sales persons. By 1977 he was worn through, having sold over 13,000 cars in his career, and his physique couldn't take it anymore. He's been a motivational speaker since. Now, 44 years later, a Dearborn, Mich., Cadillac and Chevrolet salesman named Ali Reda has reportedly broken Girard's record. The books at Les Stanford Chevrolet Cadillac say Reda sold 1,530 new cars and 52 used cars in 2017, averaging 130 vehicles per month. But after Girard, 89, heard of the sales record, he called his attorney, not letting his record be broken without a fight — or at least an audit. The Dearborn dealer isn't too concerned about Girard's doubts, at least according to Gary Stanford, whose father founded the dealership. "It's very official, trust me," said Stanford to the Detroit Free Press. "Ali is the hardest worker I've ever seen. And if someone doesn't believe the data, well, they're more than welcome to consult with GM. It's all there in black and white." What Girard doesn't get is that Reda was honoring him with the accomplishment. "I read his book, 'How to Sell Anything to Anybody,' and it said it would teach you how to become the best," said Reda, who at age 44 was a newborn when Girard hit his peak. "He's an absolute legend in the industry. Your whole career, you're chasing his name.
Watch a 2015 Corvette Z06 run the quarter in 11.7 seconds
Sun, Dec 28 2014We're not writing about this because it's an amazing run, we're writing about it because it appears to be the first run. Someone took a 2015 Corvette Z06 to Royal Purple Raceway in Baytown, Texas and blasted it down through the quarter mile. It's still wearing the dealer number in wax pen on the windshield and dealer plates, so this example is fresh from the mold. It's also a seven-speed manual. General Motors said the row-your-own Z06 can do the 'strip in 11.2 seconds, and they undoubtedly had a professional driver and more than one run to set that time. To have Just Some Guy show up at the raceway and do an 11.7 at 120.54 mph on his first run means we expect good things to come as Z06s get delivered to their owners. Check out the run in the video.
General Motors Recalls Nearly 780,000 Cars To Fix Deadly Problem
Thu, Feb 13 2014General Motors is recalling nearly 780,000 compact cars in North America because the engines can shut down unexpectedly and cause crashes. The company says six people have been killed in crashes related to the problem. The recall affects Chevrolet Cobalts and Pontiac G5s from the 2005 through 2007 model years. U.S. safety regulators say the weight of the key ring and rough roads can move the ignition switch out of the run position, cutting the engine and electricity. If that happens, air bags may not work. GM says there have been 22 crashes from the problem. All happened at high speeds. Dealers will replace the ignition switch for free. GM says owners should remove nonessential items from key rings until the problem is fixed.
