1973 Chevrolet Cheyenne C-10 Stepside Pick Up, One Owner 350 Automatic on 2040-cars

Regretfully, I am selling my 1973 Chevrolet Cheyenne C-10 Stepside pick up. I bought this truck from the estate of the original owner after he passed away. It was his "baby" for over 40 years and always garage kept. I intended to use it as an all-around truck, but after driving it for about 100 miles, I decided this SUPER original stepside deserved something better. This really is the perfect starting point for a show truck or street rod. Everything on this truck screams original. The bed has all its original wood planks, and I was told it is the original paint covering them. The original owner had the dealership install a genuine Leer, all aluminum, bed cap the day he bought it (which I am told is an extremely rare and valuable retro / nostalgia item for collectors in this condition). This cap stayed on the truck for the entire 41 years of its life, along with a protective carpet covering the bed, which preserved the wood in remarkable condition. The entire truck was protected with ZIEBART from day one. From what I can tell, the truck is extremely solid with very little rust. The body is very straight and has no big dings or dents Most of the paint appears to be original, with some touch up work done. The paint looks decent, but it definitely isn't show quality. Don't get me wrong, it still turns a lot of heads, it just isn't perfect. The chrome is fantastic all around the truck. The original grill is in perfect shape with no cracks. The interior is very original and still retains its original carpet which is in fantastic condition. The dash is gorgeous with no cracks. The gauges look like new. The seat has a couple of small splits, but the foam is all in tact, and the small splits can easily be repaired. I was actually surprised by the condition of the seats when I lifted the cover. The 350 V8 engine runs very good but has not been tuned up in who knows how long. The transmission shifts very smoothly, and the front suspension is extremely tight. When I bought this truck, I drove it home for nearly three straight hours and had no problems. I was actually extremely surprised with how tight the steering felt for a truck of this age. Very few rattles, noises, etc. I cannot verify this, but I was told even the spare tire is the factory original. This truck is certainly not perfect, but it is in amazing condition for its age. Trucks this original are extremely rare, and this one will make a fantastic restoration or simply drive it as it is. I encourage anyone interested in the truck to come see it in person and inspect it before the auction ends. After that, high bidder owns it. |

Kid Rock's Chevy Silverado is a working-class hero [w/video]
Thu, Nov 5 2015Rock stars are known for their swagger, and Kid Rock brings a mountain of that confidence to his design for this chrome-festooned 2016 Silverado 3500HD at the SEMA show. Inspired by his song Born Free and a visit to the pickup factory in Flint, MI, the styling is meant to celebrate the folks that build these trucks everyday. The Silverado sparkles like a beacon under the lights at the SEMA Show thanks to its black metallic-flecked paint and acres of chrome. The shiny stuff covers the custom grille, exhaust stacks, 22-inch wheels, and side steps. In a patriotic nod, silver Stars and Stripes run down the side to offer a little contrast to the dark body. Further emphasizing the pickup's huge size, a trailer carries a pair of Gibbs Sports Quadskis that are decorated to match the truck. Kid Rock takes inspiration from – get this – acid-wash jeans for the interior by combining Sky Cool Gray leather seats with metallic-looking inserts. Appropriate for a musician, there's also a custom Kicker stereo in there, and Made in Detroit logos adorn the door sills and glovebox. The truck was introduced today at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas, where it joined other personalized Chevy truck concepts designed to showcase the depth and breadth of the brand's pickup truck lineup. Michigan-born Kid Rock visited the Silverado HD assembly plant in Flint, Mich., to meet with the members of UAW Local 598, who built the truck, before driving it to Chevrolet's design studio to share his ideas for its customization. "The Flint plant – and everyone on the line – is the backbone of America," said Kid Rock. "I wanted the design for the truck to be bold, but with features and elements that wouldn't be out of reach for working-class guys." As a result, his Silverado features several enhancements, including a custom chrome grille with the Born Free logo and an enlarged Chevy Bowtie emblem, chrome exhaust stacks and patriotic graphics that flow across the body sides. A unique execution of the patriotic motif was an idea he expressed at the start of the project.
Watch this week's Top Gear America used-car challenge
Sat, Sep 9 2017Top Gear America is back for the penultimate episode of the first season. Used car challenges were some of the highlights of the original UK edition. In our exclusive clip, Tom Ford, Antron Brown and William Fichtner run their $7,000 sports cars in a drag race. As expected, the trio chose very different cars for the challenge. Watch the video to see if a Subaru WRX's all-wheel drive can overcome a power deficit to beat a Ford Mustang and a Chevy Corvette. Brown and Fichtner also spend some time relaxing with an old Jeep Wagoneer. Like them, we're really hoping Jeep will bring back the Wagoneer nameplate. Brown also drives a Maserati Levante, proving that not all family cars need be boring. This week's guest star is actor, rapper and former host of Pimp My Ride, Xzibit. Top Gear America airs Sundays at 8 p.m. Eastern on BBC America. Related Video: Celebrities TV/Movies Chevrolet Ford Subaru Top Gear exclusive top gear america
Next-generation Chevrolet Colorado breaks cover in new spy photos
Tue, May 25 2021The next-generation Chevrolet Colorado broke cover in this fresh set of spy photos this week, giving us a glimpse of what to expect when GM's compact trucks are replaced in what is expected to be either 2023 or 2024. Thanks to its still-extensive camouflage, this prototype doesn't give away a ton about the new Colorado's styling, but in profile, it appears as though the swoopy, upswept rear cab line might become a thing of the past. We wouldn't be surprised to see the new Colorado adopt a more angular, squared-off look more akin to that of its big brother, the half-ton Silverado. The Silverado is also expected to donate what may be the new Colorado's only powertrain. Taking a cue from Ford, Chevy is expected to offer the next-gen Colorado with just a turbocharged four-cylinder engine — the new corporate 2.7T in this instance. The large, 310-horsepower four-pot can easily take over for the 3.6L V6 currently available in the GM twins and one-up the 270-hp Ranger to boot. This would mark the end of both a V6 and diesel option being offered in GM's midsize trucks, and tracks with the company's slow, silent effort to eliminate lower-margin models. We say "trucks" because, well, whatever happens with Chevy is likely to translate to GMC. The Canyon will be due for replacement at the same time, and will likely carry on as a re-skin of Chevy's offering. We're not yet certain exactly when Chevrolet will start selling the next-gen Colorado, but given the reasonably complete state of this prototype, we expect it won't be long now. Rumors suggest it could hit the market in 2023 as a 2024 model. Related Video: The Best Midsize Pickup: Ranger vs Gladiator vs Tacoma vs Colorado
