1971 Chevrolet 1/2 ton longbed C10 2WD truck from the dry Central CA valley, Bakersfield.
This truck must go because I offically now have too much going on.
January 11 - Preemie twin boys were born 5 weeks early and stayed in the ICU for a week
January 31 - Threw a rod in my 1970 C10 project truck, now need to replace the 350.
February 4 - My father was admitted for issues with his heart, will have open heart surgery next week.
I have absolutely no time to spend on this 1971 C10. I looked long and hard for a clean and all original Cheyenne. If I were to hold onto this truck, it does need a couple of small things. Driver's glass needs to have the track glued on and installed. Glass is good, but is wedged in the track with a piece of fuel line. Original owner was a little creative on the wiring. Instead of using the key, there is now a butterfly switch with a push button start. Lights and turn signals do not work, but speedo, temp, and oil pressure do work. If the truck sits for a few days it does drip 4 or 5 times some automatic transmission fluid. Exhaust is shorter glasspacks, a little on the louder side. Emergency brake cable is not currently connected.
Tires are absolutely brand new. Maybe 500 miles on them. 235/75/15 all the way around, 15x7's in the front with 15x8's in the rear. Original Camaro COPO dogdish center caps. It has the original GM radio, with a CB mount on the dash. CB in the glovebox. Also has the original brake controller under the dash.
Rare truck to find in this condition, from the original owner. I don't need the cash, just have way too much going on. So if this doesn't sell for what I think it's worth, I'll store it until I can complete the '70.
Please call or text me at 925 979.8161 with individual picture requests.
If you need this shipped, please create a move auction on USHIP. Free to sign up, and you'd be surprised how affordable shipping rates are. I had this transported from Bakersfield to Walnut Creek, CA 94596 for $280.
THIS TRUCK IS BEING SOLD AS IS, NO WARRANTY IMPLIED.
On Feb-10-13 at 16:40:08 PST, seller added the following information:
*2/10 EDIT - it looks like the passenger rocker will need some attention. Not from the inside of the cab, but the bottom of the outside. There are 4 or 5 holes, about the size of a pencil. Also, the previous owner pulled the A/C guts out and plugged it at the line at the box on the firewall.

China's rise, global restructuring wither GM's Korea division
Wed, Jan 7 2015An article in the Daily Kanban suggests the sun is setting on GM Korea, and it could already be well into dusk. GM Korea came about when General Motors, along with co-investors SAIC and Suzuki, bought Daewoo Motors from parent company Daewoo Group in 2001; it had a previous tie-up with GM, a joint venture that ended in 1992, although Daewoo cars were based on GM cars until 1996. Over the decade following the purchase, it became such an important part of operations that it was renamed GM Korea in 2011, "to reflect its heightened status in [the] global operations of GM." Just two years later, the printed rumors were that the subsidiary responsible for a fifth of Chevrolet's global production could be shutting down. The division's sales were down almost 21 percent through November of last year, counting domestic South Korean sales, exports, and CKD – Complete Knock Down – products. That makes the labor strife, already an issue for four years, even more acute, reports say the subsidiary will lose $36 million a year if it can't get the job and wage cuts it wants, and government concessions can't make up for the losses. And it gets worse, so head over to Daily Kanban to read the rest of the story.
GM recalls select Tahoes, Yukons, Escalades for rear driveshaft issue
Mon, Feb 7 2022GM is recalling a number of its full-size SUVs due to an issue with the rear driveshaft assembly that could ultimately result in driveshaft failure. The actual number of total vehicles involved in the recall is small at just 1,789, but it’s spread out across the entire 2021 model year full-size GM vehicle lineup. That means a small number of every model is being recalled, including the Chevrolet Tahoe, Suburban, GMC Yukon, Yukon XL and the Cadillac Escalade and Escalade ESV. GM traced the issue back to certain driveshaft assemblies with ball bearings that were not properly heat treated. If theyÂ’re not properly heat treated, GM says that the balls may deform over time, causing noise and vibration. Continue to drive in this condition, and GM says the affected joint in the driveshaft assembly could seize, causing loss of drive power. However, the problem wonÂ’t present itself all at once, as GM says there will be a gradual increase of noises and vibrations before total failure. For those few owners with affected vehicles, GM says that it will replace the left and right rear driveshaft assemblies with properly-built units. Per usual with recalls, this will be done at your local dealership at no cost to the owner. If you have one of the recalled SUVs, expect to be notified mid-March. Related video:
2016 Chevy Volt to make auto show debut this season
Wed, Jul 30 2014Ever since we saw that spy shots of the 2016 Chevy Volt, we've been hungering for more information on the next-gen version of GM's green halo car. It appears we might not have long to wait, at least for an official tease. An inside source that wishes to remain anonymous told AutoblogGreen that GM will make two announcements regarding the second-gen Volt at the CAR Management Briefing Seminars in Traverse City, MI next week. The first, and most intriguing, is that that we will get our first glimpse of the new Volt at some point during the upcoming auto show season. That means either Los Angeles later this year or else Detroit, Chicago or New York in early 2015. The second bit of news is that GM will be moving production of the electric motors from Mexico to Michigan. Details and official confirmation are, of course, missing and Chevrolet declined comment to AutoblogGreen. We should know more next week.
