Wind Gap, Pennsylvania, United States
CONTACT JEFF AT 570 977 0741. Up for sale and your consideration is a very cool 1968 Chevy C-10 Hot Rod Shop Truck with a chopped top, 350 V8 engine and a Muncie 4-speed car transmission. Please take the time to look over all 24 photos that I have listed here on this auction. You can also click on any photo to supersize and zoom in on all photos. This truck was originally a Virginia truck. It came to Pennsylvania in 1993 and has had the same owner for the last 20 years. It was customized and owner restored to his liking, and well maintained ever since. He had a small motorcycle shop and this truck was used as the shop truck to transport the bikes. It runs, drives, and stops great and can be enjoyed immediately on the day of purchase. It is however a northeast truck and shows some evidence of some rust issues that were addressed over the years. The body work is not 100% and is showing some age upon close inspection. This truck has great curb appeal and is a head turner with it's 4" chopped top, 5" dropped front spindles, 4" rear blocks and air shocks. It's also equipped with power steering and power disc brakes so it's a breeze to drive.
ENGINE: Engine is a chevy 350 cubic inch small block with a casting # 3970010 which was used from 1969-1979 in both truck and high performance applications. Most of these blocks had 4-bolt mains, but since the oil pan wasn't removed I can't make that claim. Heads are casting # 3782461 which is also a high performance item. As you can see in the picture showing the cylinder head casting # the engine is extremely clean inside. Engine is topped with an Edelbrock aluminum intake and modern 4106 Edelbrock carburetor. It is also equipped with headers and reliable HEI ignition. It runs well with no noises or smoke. TRANSMISSION: The transmission is a Muncy 4-Speed with casting # 3885010. These were used in passenger cars from 1965-1967. The shifter is a Hurst Indy unit with a tall truck style handle. DIFFERENTIAL: Owner stated that the rear is the original non-posi unit that came with the truck. BODY: As you can see in the photos, this truck has it's own unique look and is chopped and lowered. All glass was professionally cut and is tinted. No plexiglass was used. Owner stated that the rear cab mounts and cab corners were replaced. Inside of the bed is coated with a Spray-On Bedliner, and is equipped with two front mounted heavy duty eyelets to tie down motorcycles or whatever you would like to haul and secure. Rolled pans were installed front and rear and custom front bumpers were installed to complete the custom look. Motorcycle turn signals were used as front turn signals and hot rod mirrors are installed on the top of the doors. There is some pitting on the door handles as they appear to be original units. All emblems were shaved. INTERIOR: Original bench seat was replaced with two wide seats with armrests, and a combination console/storage compartment in between. Bottom of driver's seat was just re-upholstered and also a new carpet was installed. An aftermarket stereo was installed to supply the tunes. The two switches that you see near the instrument cluster are for back-up and interior lights. Inside of the roof shows the extensive work that went into the chopping of the top. There is no headliner in the truck. It is black painted metal. Gas pedal, brake and clutch pedal pads were replaced as well as a new padded dash cover. The emergency brake does not hold and will need some attention. TAX ADVANTAGE: Since this is a commercial vehicle there are advertising tax advantages. Check with your accountant. TERMS OF SALE: Again this is a northeast truck, and did not spend most of it's life in the Arizona Desert. It is not a #1 truck at a #3 price. It is not a vehicle that you would take to one of the EGO-RAMA auctions in January and sell for stupid money. It is however priced reasonably for what it is so A REAL CAR PERSON CAN AFFORD OWN AND ENJOY IT. Please check my 100% positive feedback and buy with confidence. After reading the entire description and checking out all 24 photos here on the auction feel free to ask any questions on the truck. I have accurately and honestly described this truck to the best of my knowledge based on a complete physical inspection, driving, and servicing the truck and also based on conversation with the previous owner. If any prospective buyer has any further questions as to the integrity or condition of this vehicle then I welcome and encourage you to call me and make an appointment to come see the truck in person to satisfy any questions you may have. This truck is sold in AS-IS condition with no actual, implied, or expressed warranty or guarantee of any kind. The day you buy the truck it is your truck. That is why I provide a complete and thorough description with complete and thorough pictures and welcome any buyer to come see the truck in person. There will be an Ebay required $300.00 paypal non-refundable deposit to be paid buy the winning buyer using either the buy it now option or the winning buyer at the end of the auction. The most accepted, preferred and encouraged method of payment is funds in hand and a local pickup of the truck. Any other method will need to be discussed with me first and approved before proceeding with the sale. Shipping will be the financial responsibility of the buyer. I will be happy to recommend previously used shippers. I will also be happy to reasonably assist in the appointment set-up, pick-up and loading of the truck. My contact # is at the top and bottom of this ad to make it very easy for any prospective buyer to reach me at. So lastly any questions at all on this truck please don't hesitate to CONTACT JEFF AT 570 977 0741. Thanks and good luck ! |

Ford also working on 200-mile EV to compete with Bolt, Model 3
Fri, Mar 6 2015The Chevrolet Bolt is on a lot of people's radars. You may have even noticed friends and colleagues who harbor very little interest in the automotive world, or anything labeled as "green," who have taken notice of a 200-mile electric vehicle coming out of Detroit. Mass appeal is the idea, after all. You can include Ford in the list of interested parties, in this case with the intention of taking direct aim at the Bolt – and, by proxy, the Tesla Model 3 – with an affordable, long-range EV of its own. Ford will unveil its own long-range EV, positioned to compete with Chevrolet, later this year, according to Automobile. Details are very scarce about Ford's plans, but we do know that the Bolt (or whatever the Chevy all-electric hatchback will end up being called) is expected to offer over 200 miles of driving between charges, with a sticker price around $30,000. The other major player, of course, is Tesla's smaller, more affordable sibling to the Model S. The Model 3, also slated to go on sale in 2017, should cost less than $40,000. While Tesla has established itself in the EV world, another long-range EV out of Detroit would win some customers from the California-based startup. For now, though, we'll just have to wait, as Ford remains tight-lipped about its plans for the car. Automobile predicts a possible unveiling at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November, what with California's EV mandate being a driver of strategy for various automakers. Most can agree, though, that a larger field of options – while not ideal for backers of the Bolt or Model 3 – will only benefit the car-buying public. Hot Wheels' Twitter-enabled vending machine coughs up free Camaro diecasts
Wed, 27 Feb 2013There are still plenty of companies that haven't gotten the whole social media thing down pat yet, but Hot Wheels isn't one of them. During the recent Canadian International Auto Show in Toronto, Hot Wheels created a lot of buzz for itself by using a vending machine filled with Chevrolet Camaro models, but instead of money to get the cars, show attendees just had to use Twitter.
To get the free car, people were asked to send a tweet to Hot Wheels Canada saying what they liked about the new Hot Wheels Edition Camaro, and including the #ChevyCIAS hashtag. This seemed to be a popular marketing tool, too, as AdWeek reports that the @HotWheelsCanada account more than tripled in followers during the course of the 10-day show. Looking ahead, this could open up even more innovative marketing possibilities using social media.
Check out the video posted below to watch how it works, and while the auto show has ended and the free-car giveaway has too, we're almost certain that some of the 1,500 freebies will make their way onto eBay.
GM isn't liable for punitive damages in ignition switch cases
Wed, Nov 20 2019NEW YORK — A federal appeals court said General Motors is not liable for punitive damages over accidents that occurred after its 2009 bankruptcy and involved vehicles it produced earlier, including vehicles with faulty ignition switches. The 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Manhattan said on Tuesday that the automaker did not agree to contractually assume liability for punitive damages as part of its federally-backed Chapter 11 reorganization. GM filed for bankruptcy in June 2009, and its best assets were transferred to a new Detroit-based company with the same name. The other assets and many liabilities stayed with "Old GM," which is also known as Motors Liquidation Co. Tuesday's 3-0 decision may help GM reduce its ultimate exposure in nationwide litigation over defective ignition switches in several Chevrolet, Pontiac and Saturn models. It is also a defeat for drivers involved in post-bankruptcy accidents, including those who collided with older GM vehicles driven by others, as well as their law firms. The ignition switch defect could cause engine stalls and keep airbags from deploying, and has been linked to 124 deaths. A lawyer for the drivers and their law firms did not immediately respond to requests for comment. GM had no comment. Circuit Judge Dennis Jacobs said GM's agreement to acquire assets "free and clear" of most liabilities excused it from punitive damages claims for Old GM's conduct. He also noted that the judge who oversaw the bankruptcy concluded that the new company could not be liable for claims that the "deeply insolvent" Old GM would never have paid. The decision upheld a May 2018 ruling by U.S. District Judge Jesse Furman in Manhattan, who oversees the ignition switch litigation. Drivers have sought a variety of damages in that litigation, including for declining resale values. GM has recalled more than 2.6 million vehicles since 2014 over ignition switch problems. It has also paid more than $2.6 billion in related penalties and settlements, including $900 million to settle a U.S. Department of Justice criminal case. The case is In re: Motors Liquidation Co, 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, No. 18-1940. Government/Legal Chevrolet Pontiac Saturn Safety gm ignition switch
