This is a NO RESERVE auction. Only bid if you have the money. I have over $10,000.00 into this truck not counting any labor. Must sacrifice to pay loans and medical bills.
This is a very nice running truck. Starts up everytime hot or cold or sitting for a week. Goes down the road nice too. Everything around the motor and tranny have been replaced with new parts. Very rare with all these options. This is a Chevy Custom Cab. Big widow, Short bed Fleet side. Factory in dash Air Conditioning. Deluxe heater, Full gauges. Arm rest on both doors. V-8 with automatic (low hump cab). Original aluminum grill and chrome front bumper. Has later style rear chrome bumper that looks very nice and is a lot stronger than original. Original black and yellow plates. Currently registered and insured in my name. You can drive this anywhere and not worry about a thing. I am a mechanic and have owned my own shop since 1989. I did the following work on it over the past year. 1992 305 with 700R4 automatic. I replaced every gasket and seal. I also installed all new motor mounts and transmission mounts. New water pump. New alternator. New starter. Rebuilt HEI distributor with new Plug wires and AC Delco plugs. New Edelbrock aluminum intake. Rochester carburator. New chrome valve covers and Air cleaner. New temperature sending unit. New heater hoses. New radiator hoses. New electric fuel pump. New electric radiator fan with temp relay. All new wiring with seperate fuses. All the gauges work like they should. The bed. It is super straight and rust free. Still has the original wood. The guy before me installed extra gas tanks under the body and did a very nice job. He frenched in the gas tank caps into the bed and did a clean job on that too. I am not using them. I installed a new sending unit in the original gas tank and cleaned it out before installing it behind the seat like it was from the factory. The drive train has New 90wt rear end oil and gasket. New drive shaft with new u-joints balanced. New tranny pan gasket and filter and fluid. New torq converter lock up kit with relay. The Brakes have all new rubber hoses related. New master brake cylinder. New fluid. They work great. Steering. New power steering pump. New p/s hoses. New Fluid. New front end alignment. Steering wheel sits straight the truck goes down the road nice. Even the turn signals turn off after turns like it should. The motor and tranny only have about 110,000 miles on them. It starts up every time hot or cold. Has never leaked a drop of anything since I installed them about 3000 miles ago. This truck is not a show truck. But great for a cruise or parade. It really gets a lot of attention. And I have used it in 3 parades and always get thumbs up. It has had one paint job on it and that was done about 25 years ago. It Shines very nice. This has all the original floor panels in it. NO Major rust issues. It had small amounts of rust on the floor in the usual places. The worst is a 2 inch hole at the bottom of the cab corner and one at the pass side floor. so I put P.O.R.15 on the areas that needed it. The floor is the original metal and paint from factory. The under side has most of its original under coating on it. I have over 60 pics if your serious call me at 916-521-8943. Truck is located in Lincoln, California. 95648. GM slashes prices in China as sales falter
Thu, May 14 2015Buying a vehicle from General Motors' stable of brands might be a lot cheaper in the near future – at least for customers in China. The effort comes as GM hopes to keep sales there growing, and the decision alludes to yet another sign that the Asian country no longer has the booming auto market of past years. GM and its Chinese joint venture partner SAIC are slashing prices by as much as the equivalent to $8,700 on 40 models from Buick, Chevrolet, and Cadillac, according to The Detroit News. Across all of automaker's nameplates, the overall sales dipped in China in April by 0.4 percent to 258,484 vehicles. Among the drops, Buick was down 8.5 percent, and Chevy shrunk 5.6 percent. Caddy's numbers increased 4.6 percent for the month, though. Buick remains a popular brand in the minds of Chinese consumers, but according to The Detroit News domestic automakers there are starting to eat into the dominance of foreign companies in the market. The country remains important for GM, though. Late last year, it outlined a future strategy that included China as a major pillar, including a $14 billion investment to build five new factories and boost sales. Mustang, Camaro, Challenger gallop onto USPS pony car postage stamp set
Tue, Jul 19 2022Some of America's most iconic cars are about to be immortalized on postage stamps. A new set by the U.S. Postal Service will celebrate the the golden era of pony cars, featuring five classic examples of Detroit iron. Each one is beautifully illustrated in oil-on-canvas style, with subjects in motion and sunlight glinting off the chrome, and would add a nice touch to any first-class letter. The pony car segment was all about (relatively) small, sporty alternatives to the full-size land yachts of the 1960s. They typically came equipped with 6-cylinder engines or small-block V8s. The category was named after the Ford Mustang, hence the name. Some, though, argue that the Plymouth Barracuda, which was launched a couple of weeks before the Mustang, is the first. Luckily, the Falcon-based Mustang's distinct styling generated a sales sensation, or we might be calling them fish cars. Appropriately, one of the featured cars is a Mustang. But it's not just any Mustang. The 1969 Boss 302, seen here resplendent in Bright Yellow, was created for the hotly-contested SCCA Trans-Am racing series. One of its main rivals would have been the 1969 Chevy Camaro Z/28, also created specifically for the series, and is included in the set in Fathom Green. Representing Auburn Hills in the set is a 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T in Plum Crazy, while Southfield's American Motors gets a nod with an AMC Javelin in Big Bad Orange. The Mustang's platform cousin, a 1967 Mercury Cougar XR-7, is portrayed in a gorgeous Burgundy Poly that almost looks incomplete without Neko Case on the hood. It's not the first time the USPS has honored America's rich car culture on its stamps. In 2013, it issues a series of muscle car stamps with the help of Richard Petty. That set featured a 1966 Pontiac GTO, 1967 Shelby GT-500, 1970 Chevelle SS, 1970 Plymouth Hemi ’Cuda and, of course, a 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona. Another set in 2016 featured classic pickup trucks. Going further back, a 2008 release had chroed and finned automobiles of the 1950s and a 2005 release featured sporty American cars of the same era. The pony car stamps will debut on August 25 at the Great American Stamp Show in Sacramento, California in partnership with the American Philatelic Society. The public is free to attend the dedication ceremony, but you must RSVP first. After that, they will be available at local post offices and on line at the USPS store.
These are the 10 longest-lasting vehicles on the road today
Tue, Nov 29 2022Buying a car has started feeling pretty bad. It’s hard to find what you want, and when you do, thereÂ’s a great chance itÂ’s not selling for the price you thought it would be. The least stressful way of coping with the situation is not to buy a new car, but how can you know how long your current ride will last? A recent study from iSeeCars found that some vehicles are prone to deliver many more miles of usable driving than others. iSeeCars looked at more than 2 million cars. The mileage over which the top 1% of cars within each model obtained was calculated and used to rank models, and the study required that a vehicle be sold for at least 10 of the past 20 years to be included. Unsurprisingly, Toyota dominated the top-10 list, but most of the other models come from General Motors with one Honda thrown into the mix. Ranked by mileage, the top-ten longest-lasting vehicles include: Toyota Highlander Hybrid: 244,94 miles Toyota Avalon: 245,710 miles Honda Ridgeline: 248,669 miles Chevrolet Tahoe: 250,338 miles Toyota Prius: 250,601 miles GMC Yukon XL: 252,360 miles Toyota Tundra: 256,022 miles Chevrolet Suburban: 265,732 miles Toyota Land Cruiser: 280,236 miles Toyota Sequoia: 295,509 miles The iSeeCars study found that SUVs and trucks occupy 75 percent of the top 20 vehicles with the potential to last the longest, and Toyota alone accounts for half of the top 20. Interestingly, the Prius and Highlander Hybrid made the list, suggesting that automakers are getting better at making batteries last a long time. "What we see is a list of highly-durable vehicles, capable of more than a quarter-million miles of use if properly maintained," said iSeeCars Executive Analyst Karl Brauer. "And to be clear, this study isnÂ’t reporting the maximum lifespan of these vehicles. This is simply a measure of current odometer readings. Most of these cars are still in use and going strong." Of course, the longevity of a vehicle has a lot to do with how itÂ’s treated and maintained over its lifetime. ItÂ’s easy to find stories of people nursing Toyota Tundras and other vehicles past a million miles, and thereÂ’s a 1960s Volvo with more than 3 million miles. Some vehicle types, particularly the largest SUVs, are often used as road-trip vehicles by large families, which means they tend to rack up big mileage. In most cases, buying and owning a higher-mileage car can be a risk, so itÂ’s essential to get a pre-purchase inspection or regular maintenance if you already own one.
