Chevrolet Blazer M1009 Cucv on 2040-cars
Wetumpka, Alabama, United States
I just started the auction over because I accidentally ended the previous auction by mistake while I was trying to upload additional photos and add more description. I apologize for that inconvenience but the good news is it’s still available. I received numerous messages for guys who wanted more pictures and a “buy it now” price. You are welcome to call me at 334-467-1773 for a test drive. I bought this Blazer one year ago. I drove it from Orlando to Birmingham (about 600 mi) to get home. Its geared low so I drove about 55-60 mph most of the way. My plans were to ship it to South America for a film project but when I contacted the shipping company I learned that you can’t ship US Military surplus out of the country without special permission from the government. During the preparation process I sent the vehicle to a mechanic shop for a complete checkup. Everything was serviced, all belts, fluids, brake shoes, shocks and filters. The mechanic found some clutch wear in transmission fluid so I had the transmission completely rebuilt. The four wheel drive was checked closely and has no bearing, gear or joint issues. All lights and signals work great. No leaks. I had the windows professionally tinted and a professionally installed rough country lift kit. Not the spacers but new springs. The Blazer has been parked in my barn for about nine months. Yesterday it started right up and I drove it around and washed it. I can’t guarantee anything but I believe it’s ready to go anywhere, anytime. You should not buy this Blazer for a daily driver because it doesn’t have stereo, AC or airbags. It will make a great hunting truck. I’ve invested a lot of money in the vehicle with an open checkbook for whatever was needed. To the best of my knowledge it has never been wrecked. Its 30 years old and built for the military so don’t expect it to be comfortable. My guess is the tires have about 60% tread life remaining. |

2020 Chevy and GMC HD truck spy shots reveal LED lighting
Mon, Aug 20 2018With Chevy and GMC's 1500 series pickups just starting to roll into dealerships, our attention naturally turns to the Heavy Duty 2500 and 3500 series trucks. We've seen these HD trucks testing already, but thes latest spy photos give us our first good glimpse of the two HD trucks' headlights through some translucent camouflage, and their designs appear very interesting and quite different from each other. The 2020 Chevrolet Silverado HD looks to be getting a striking set of LED lights that flank the grille. A previously released teaser image of the truck shows that the front lighting elements are split by a bulky wing that branches out from a big, upright chrome face, and both top and bottom units seem to incorporate LED slashes. If you look closely at the images, you can easily make out the Chevrolet script cut into the grille's top edge. Amidst a bevy of Chevy test trucks was one lone GMC model in a dually configuration, and the Sierra HD also appears to have some LED accent lighting up front. Unlike the boomerang-shaped Chevy LEDs, GMC's version sports a shoulder-like right angle of light bars. Assuming these are production-level lighting units, it seems the Sierra HD will stick pretty close to the face of GMC's latest light-duty pickup truck. We're still waiting for confirmation on what range of powertrains will be available in GM's next-gen HD trucks, but we're sure there will be both gasoline- and diesel-burning engines on the ordering sheet. We expect to hear official details on the trucks sometime soon. Super Bowl MVP Tom Brady gives Chevy Colorado to Malcolm Butler [w/poll]
Tue, Feb 3 2015Winning the Super Bowl, we'd imagine, is pretty sweet. Winning the MVP award at the Super Bowl, even more so – for many reasons, among them that you get a brand new Chevy Colorado, packed full of, you know... technology and stuff. Of course this year's Most Valuable Player was none other than Tom Brady, the New England Patriots quaterback who was crowned Super Bowl MVP for the third time and lead the Pats to win the Super Bowl for the fourth time. He makes tens of millions every season, and Mrs. Brady (a.k.a. Gisele Bundchen) probably makes an extraordinarily pretty penny herself. So what does one of the most successful and wealthy players in NFL history need with a new pickup truck? Not a whole lot, apparently: the Boston Business Journal reports that he gave the truck to Malcolm Butler, the rookie cornerback who intercepted Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson's pass on the Patriots' one-yard line with only twenty seconds to go and sealed the victory for New England. Which strikes us as a fitting gesture, even if Brady did keep the MVP trophy for himself. Very first Chevy Camaro found and restored
Thu, Feb 26 2015Restoring an important classic car can lead people down rabbit hole upon rabbit hole of discovered history in a process that's essentially automotive genealogy. Take the recent rejuvenation of the very first Chevrolet Camaro as an example. The owners started with a strong hunch that the vehicle might be something special and spent years researching to figure it all out before the mechanical work even began. Fisher Body kicked off work on the first Camaro on May 17, 1966, and it was delivered to General Motors just a few days later for final assembly. While the model has earned a place as an American performance icon since then, the original was built more to develop the production process and boasted just a 230-cubic-inch (3.8-liter) inline six and 3-speed transmission. After spending its first few months appearing in promotions, a Chevy dealer in Oklahoma got the gold car in December of '66. It was touted on the sales floor there for years, and the first private owner didn't come until 1969. This short documentary goes into astonishingly comprehensive detail about every bit of the first Camaro's history. If you just want to hear the story of the latest owners and their work to get the vehicle restored since 2010, skip about 11 minutes into the video. Or, of course, you could just enjoy the whole thing. News Source: PilotCarRegistry via YouTube, Camaro NewsTip: Chris P.
