Up for auction is my 1957 Belair with one re-paint of Canyon Coral w/India Ivory White Top. The motor is a 283 with a 4 barrel and is automatic transmission. My paperwork says that in Nov. 201l a new fuel pump and carburetor kit, 8 spark plugs, plug wires were installed. It has a new battery replaced this year. Also I had installed a new gasoline tank and all new lines up to the carburetor. I have alittle bit of information that was in the the glove box: the original Owner's Service Policy, first owner's name was Ralph Hubbs of Wilson City, KS. The engine number is VC57K147355. Key number is #8594 (we still have the original key with 8594 stamped on the key). The car was bought by him at Ulrich Chevrolet Co. Lucas, KS in l957. I also have automobile registration receipt l957 and l958 issued to Ralph Hubbs. Have the original 1957 Guide To Your New Chevrolet pamphlet .
Let's talk about my 1957 Chevy.... I bought this car in June from a close friend here in Hutchinson, KS. He had bought it from a Hutchinson doctor in 2003. The doctor bought it in the 90's from Larry Frisbie in Lyons, KS. We believe that Larry bought the car from the Hubbs family. The car starts up nice but wants to hesitate when you put the pedal down. I think the timing may be a bit off or the carburetor set to rich? It could also just need to be drive awhile on the highway ...which I have not had the time to do since our Paint Company business is in full swing right now!
The interior is the original Black & Silver and is very nice. The only flaws being a small gap on the seam along the front seat and also one on the back seat seam (as shown in the pictures).. This can be an easy fix for an upholstery guy. The carpet appears to be the original & is pretty decent. The gauges all work except for the left blinker. This car shows 68,887 on the odometer. The paint of the car is in "Driver Quality" condition. Some scratches and cracks in the paint. Inside the trunk is the spare tire (which is flat but on the orig. wheel) and the car bumper jack. I found a very small amount of rust on both of the back door passengers bottom door frame by the chrome. It is about 1" long. Chrome trim is decent for it's age. The bumpers are original. The back bumper where the gas cap opening (by the fin) has been oxidized over the year and is dull. This car is factory radio delete. The back seat window shelf has shag carpet that is not glued on. Underneath the shag carpet the surface is very nice and is not faded or water stained.
All in all this car would make a very nice driver or kick it up a notch and restore it up to the level that you want!! SO, Don't Monkey Around & Get Beat Off The Line By 2 Drag Racing Car Crazy MONKEY'S!!
It is sold without warranty. I reserve the right to end the auction at anytime. I highly recommend asking questions on EBay's "ask the buyer" option or inspecting the 57' in person prior to bidding. Shipping or pickup is to be arranged & paid for by the buyer. A $l,000 non-refundable deposit can be made thru PayPal but final payment will not be accepted thru PayPal. A Certified Cashier Check from a bank is required.

These are 2014's best-selling cars and trucks
Tue, Jan 6 2015Now that 2014 is no more than a set of numbers on spreadsheets, at last, the grist mill gets its first real load to chew on. The number one selling vehicle in America last year was the Ford F-Series, a fact that should surprise you only if your family name is Van Winkle and your naps tend to last 38 years, which is how long the Ford pickup has ruled our buying landscape. Even though series sales were down 1.3 percent, it still racked up 753,851 units. That's 2,065.3 sales per day, every day, all year. The Chevrolet Silverado, up 10.3 percent for the year, was still a daylight second at 529,755 units. The cab-and-bed love continued into third place with the Ram 1500-3500 trucks, gaining 23.6-percent year-on-year to clock 439,789 units. The robust turnout at The Bighorn and Jeep helped Fiat-Chrysler increase its sales by 16 percent, past the two-million mark. Our number one car? The Toyota Camry, staying in first place with a 4.9-percent sales boost to 428,606 sales, trailed again by the Honda Accord at number five with 388,374 sales. Accord sales rose six percent, and if it's any consolation to Honda for coming in second - not that it needs one - it is the only manufacturer to have three vehicles in the top ten. The rest of the list: the Nissan Altima with 335,644 sales (+4.7%), the Honda CR-V with 355,019 (+10.2%), the Toyota Corolla/Matrix combo with 339,498 (+5.9%), the Honda Civic with 325,981 (-3.1%), and the Ford Fusion with 306,860 sales (+2.9%). Total sales for the year were up six percent to 16.5 million vehicles, a volume not seen since 2006, aided by a strong December that was up by 11 percent year-on-year. Ford was the top selling brand overall but sales didn't really budge from 2013, while Subaru rocketed up 21 percent to finish with 513,693 sales. At the precious end, BMW, Audi, Porsche and Land Rover all had record years, and Kelley Blue Book thinks we could be looking at 17 million sales for the next two or three years. Looks like it's time to start making hay again... Here's the 2016 Chevy Camaro Convertible
Mon, Jun 22 2015Chevrolet is planning to reveal the 2016 Camaro Convertible on Wednesday, June 24. But here it is ahead of time, thanks to some leaked images found by the folks at Camaro6.com. These photos were apparently posted to Chevy's website and then immediately taken down. But they clearly show the new droptop Camaro from a number of angles, with the top both up and down. Not surprisingly, the Camaro's design hasn't changed for the convertible body style, and it looks pretty good. Have a look at the low-res images in the gallery above. We'll have the full details later this week.
Junkyard Gem: 1986 Chevrolet Sprint Plus
Fri, Jun 16 2023General Motors sold second- and third-generation Suzuki Cultuses with Geo or Chevrolet Metro badging in the United States from 1989 through 2001 model years, and we've all seen plenty of those cars on the street over the years. The first-generation Cultus was sold here as well, with Chevrolet Sprint badges, and I've found a rare example of the Sprint five-door hatchback in a Northern California car graveyard. The Chevy Sprint first appeared on the West Coast as a 1985 model, then became available everywhere in the United States for the 1986 through 1988 model years (in Canada, it was sold as the Pontiac Firefly). It was available here as a hatchback with three or five doors; for 1986 only, the five-door was badged as the Sprint Plus. Soon enough, The General would be selling many more Asian-built cars with Detroit badges here. Isuzu I-Marks were sold as Chevrolet/Geo Spectrums starting in the 1986 model year, while Daewoo provided the Pontiac LeMans two years later. Under the hood, a 1.0-liter three-cylinder rated at 48 horsepower. The five-door Sprint cost $5,580 in 1986, which was $200 more than the three-door (those prices would be $15,445 and $14,891 in 2023 dollars). I've documented seven discarded Sprints prior to this one (including an extremely rare Turbo Sprint), and all of them were three-doors; we can assume that price was the most important factor for Sprint buyers. Gasoline prices were crashing hard during the middle 1980s, but memories of gas lines and odd-even-day fuel rationing from 1979 remained strong. What cars competed with the '86 Sprint on sticker price? Well, there was no way to undercut the hilariously affordable (and terrible) Yugo GV, which cost $3,990. The much bigger (but still pretty bad) Hyundai Excel listed at $4,995, while Toyota would sell you a sturdy (but zero-fun) Tercel starting at $5,448. Even the wretched Chevy Chevette — yes, it was still available in 1986 — cost $5,645. The original buyer of this car was willing to shell out an extra $395 to get an automatic instead of the base five-speed manual. That's about $1,093 in today's money. This car must have been slow. By the end, the doors were held shut with duct tape, but it still stayed alive until age 37. 53 miles per gallon on the highway! It does everything. The camels of the highway.
