THE AWARD WINNING 1955 "SILVERBACK"! JUST COMPLETED A TWO YEAR PROFESSIONAL RESTORATION! LESS THAN 50 MILES!
105+ PHOTOS & VIDEO LOCATED BELOW! ENJOY!
If you're a Chevy guy (or gal) then you're going to enjoy our 55. If you're a Tri-Five guy (or gal), well
you're about to mess up all of your priorities by putting this thing at the top of your "want list". For that,
I apologize. If you're neither of the two, well chances are you're a Prius guy and if that's the case, I think
they've got reruns of Friends running on the Oprah network for all of April.
One of my good buddies just finished building this 55. He took it all the way down and brought it all
the way up. It just took 2nd place at World of Wheels (couple months ago). The paint and body work on the car is
great. It was done in a two stage base coat clear coat and was done by a very talented & experienced auto artist
by the name of Larry Liles. He owns Fine Line Customs out of Tightward, Missouri. The black and silver with the
combination of the staggered black rims, really give the 55 it's own mean appearance. Like a true Silverback, it
is hunched and ready to tear the street apart. All of the chrome & stainless has either been redone or replaced
with new pieces. The majority of it being refurbished. All of the glass through out the 55 has been replaced with
new smoked glass. It's got new body bushings as well as a new idler arm. He put all new emblems through out and
went ahead with the "Belair" upgrade.
The 350 motor within this 55 has been rebuilt and is in excellent mechanical order. The 600 Edelbrock
provides the perfect balance between having a nice cruiser but with enough power that if you want to get around
someone then there is more then plenty to work with. Want to just roast the tires to burn off some steam? She'll
do that and then some. It is fed by a new Holley Blue electric fuel pump. To keep her cool he installed a new
aluminum radiator. The 350 Turbo transmission was also rebuilt and functions flawlessly. She shifts through gears
with ease. He also bought and installed a brand new Ron Francis wiring harness. She does have four wheel disc
brakes all the way around. All of which work exceptionally well. The Ford 9' rear end also works flawlessly. He
also bought a new power steering setup for it which also works flawlessly.
The interior was completely tore down with the rest of the car at the beginning of the build. So all of it
was reupholstered. From the carpet to the headliner, it is all new. The tilt steering column along with the
brand new wood grain steering wheel, all new. When you first climb in, you immediately smell just how new it is.
It is quite comforting.

Chevy Volt owners log half a billion electric miles, 2015 production starts
Thu, Jun 19 2014As General Motors gets ready to start 2015 Volt production Monday, Chevrolet is looking back at some of the numbers that got the car to where it is today. The headline number is that Volt owners have collectively put more than a half-billion electric miles on their cars. The unsurprising upshot is that, if you went out and bought a Volt, you're pretty keen on getting as many electric miles out of it as possible. 90 percent of all Volt trips are done purely on electric power. The typical Volt driver goes 970 miles between fill-ups, GM says, and that means that 63 percent of all miles are done on battery power. General Motors executive director Larry Nitz gave AutoblogGreen a few more details on the usage habits of Volt drivers, including that 81 percent of commuting miles are electric. Two-thirds of US Volt drivers charge their vehicle 1.4 times a day, a clear indicator of drivers trying to maximize electric miles through opportunity charging. In fact, Nitz said, 90 percent of all Volt trips are done purely on electric power. GM also says that the Volt's official 35 miles of electric range is still doable for many owners who have had their car for more than 30 months. Looking ahead, we know that one upgrade for the 2015 Volt will be 4G LTE connectivity that can turn the car, like others in the GM family, into a mobile wifi hotspot. We're of course much more interested in when GM is finally going to start production of the next-gen Volt, but GM officials would only tell us that they're very excited about the still-secret vehicle, promising we'll be learning more "soon." Nitz did confirm that today's Volt drivers are most interested in three things from the next-gen model: more range, a lower price and a fifth seat. He did not say whether or not GM will be able to deliver on those requests. Chevrolet Volt Owners Surpass Half a Billion Electric Miles After 30 months of use, a sampling of Volts shows consistent all-electric range 2014-06-19 DETROIT – Since its launch in late 2010, Chevrolet Volt owners have accumulated more than half a billion all-electric miles. Additionally, based on a General Motors' study of more than 300 Volts in service in California for more than 30 months, many owners are exceeding the EPA-rated label of 35 miles of EV range per full charge, with about 15 percent surpassing 40 miles of range.
OnStar to offer 90-day driving assessment, possible insurance discount
Wed, Jan 7 2015General Motors has announced a brace of new features for OnStar, two of which could help you save money assuming you're willing to sign over some (more) personal details. The first is a driving assessment program in which OnStar takes note of certain driving parameters for 90 days, then provides the driver feedback on their driving, both individually and when compared to other drivers in the program, as well as driving tips. Think of it as OnStar's ICE version of the Nissan Leaf's CARWING feature that compares how efficient your electric driving is compared to other BEV drivers. In this case, though, certain drivers will have the chance to share their assessment with Progressive Insurance, and if the numbers are right they might get a "driving-based" discount from the insurance company. The assessment program is voluntary, and requires opting in. It will be available this summer on all new GM cars and some GM vehicles back to 2013. In case this sounds like Big Brother, let's not forget that Big Brother is already here and moved in so long ago that he's a member of the Kiwanis club and is hosting neighborhood block parties. Progressive already has a million enrollees in a program called Snapshot that tracks OBD II data to offer usage-based insurance to provide annual pricing based on how much you drive your car, with discounts of up to 30 percent. The OnStar effort is just another way to do that. The second feature is proximity offers through AtYourService, which notifies drivers to deals and information on their driving route and provides coupons from RetailMeNot and Entertainment Book. Beyond that, a deal with Priceline will let OnStar agents book hotels for you starting this year, there's a tie-in with Dunkin' Donuts, too, but we're fuzzy on those benefits, and third new feature lets Chevrolet owners know when certain parts need replacing. Just the right Camaro can change your life
Thu, Jan 22 2015Not many people can say that their car directly motivated them into a career, but that's exactly the case for Adam Martin and his 1968 Chevrolet Camaro that he calls Lucy. Martin bought the pony car in primer when he was just 16, and it helped foster his profession in restoring classic cars. Beyond just being a very cool ride for a teenager, every change to Lucy was an opportunity to hone a new automotive skill for Martin. Whether figuring out how to paint a car or building the 454-cubic-inch (7.4-liter) big block V8, the Camaro offered a platform for experimentation. This latest episode of Petrolicious gets personal about the bond between man and machine for this 18-year ongoing project. And even if the story doesn't immediately grab you, Lucy has a great voice and can do a mean burnout.
