Up for bid is my 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air Hot Rod.It has a Chevrolet small block 350, 4 speed transmission and a 12 bolt rear end. This car is an old Hot Rod that with a straight axle, tilt fiberglass front end and radiuses wheel wells. The body and paint are very nice.I believe this paint to be over twenty years old and still shines nice. The interior is all black, the seats are out of a 1967 Camaro with rare steel seat backs. The headliner, carpet, door panels are all nice. It has a pistol grip shifter to run you thru the gears. all the glass is very nice and all four windows roll up and down as you would expect. All the stainless and chrome is in good shape. The car runs strong and shifts smooth. It has four wheel drum brakes and no power steering so this is definately not like driving a new car.It has the motor set back, so that you do lose a little leg room but its not to bad for me and I`m about 5'9" tall.I consider it a local round town bare knuckle Hot Rod, and not something I would want to drive cross country, but Im not saying it would or would not do it.All the lights, wipers , signals, horn all work.I dont think the speedo is working though. The trunk is very nice as you cab see and the floors and frame is also nice and solid. There is minor rust issues with body braces which is typical on these cars and I'm told a relatively easy repair. The car was born as a Norwood built Bel Air 2 door sedan with a V8 motor. The car was originally India Ivory / Regal Turquoise with Turquoise and Ivory interior. This is a great old Hot Rod that is a blast to drive and turns allot of heads. If your wanting a `55 Chevy Gasser style Hot Rod this is your chance to own the real deal that has lived as this for decades! Please feel free to call or Text ( 937 ) 658-2717 with any questions you may have, Email works fine too. I reserve the right to end the auction at any time. I will require a three hundred dollar deposit immediately at the close of the auction. The car needs to be paid in full with in five days and picked up with in two weeks. Thanks for looking and good Luck!

GM's Fairfax, Kansas, plant closed through mid-August due to chip shortage
Tue, Jun 29 2021General Motors is further extending downtime at its Fairfax Assembly facility in Kansas City, Kan., due to ongoing microchip supply issues, the company confirmed late Monday. The plant will now remain idled through at least Aug. 16, Automotive News reports. The facility, which produces the Cadillac XT4 and (for now, anyway) the Chevrolet Malibu, was already slated to be on standby until after the upcoming July 4th holiday weekend, but GM was forced to extend the outage again – this time by more than an another month – due to the continued lack of electronic component supply. While microchip production has begun to catch up to existing production demand, it could take months (perhaps even more than a year) for customers to see relief from the shortage. Related video:
Chevy's Android Auto update will reach cars in March
Fri, Sep 25 2015Buying a new Chevy with the hopes of using Android Auto during your daily commute? You'll have to sit tight for a while before that dream becomes reality. The carmaker announced that an Android Auto software update will only reach its 2016 model-year vehicles next March, starting with those that have 8-inch MyLink touchscreen systems. That's going to be a long half-year wait if you're eager to get Google Maps directions through the center stack. The good news? Chevy is promising that all vehicles with 7- and 8-inch MyLink displays (ranging from the Spark to the Corvette) will eventually have Android Auto, so you won't have to drive one of the brand's swankier machines to get a smartphone-powered infotainment deck. This article by Jon Fingas originally ran on Engadget, the definitive guide to this connected life. Related Video:
Junkyard Gem: 1988 Chevrolet Spectrum Sport Coupe
Wed, Aug 23 2023Before General Motors created the Geo brand for cars built or designed by its overseas partners, the Chevrolet Division put its badges on U.S.-market versions of the Toyota Corolla Sprinter, the Suzuki Cultus and the Isuzu Gemini. Those cars were known as the Nova, the Sprint and the Spectrum, and all became Geos starting with the 1989 model year. Today's Junkyard Gem is one of the last Chevy Spectrums ever sold, found in a Denver self-service yard a few months ago. Midway through 1988, the Chevrolet Spectrum abruptly became the Geo Spectrum and was assigned to the 1989 model year. This car was built in May 1988, making it one of the very last of the pre-Geo Spectrums. The Chevrolet/Geo Spectrum was available as a four-door sedan and as a three-door hatchback, from the 1985 through 1989 model years. For 1988 only, a Spectrum Sport Coupe package, featuring some trim upgrades and these rad decals, could be had on the hatchback. This car was essentially identical to its Isuzu-badged counterpart, the I-Mark. In 1988, the MSRP for the cheapest possible Chevy Spectrum hatchback (the stripped-down Spectrum Express) was $6,495, while its somewhat better-equipped I-Mark twin started at $7,439 (that's $17,128 and $19,617 in 2023 dollars). Meanwhile, the base Hyundai Excel hatchback listed at $5,295 and the Yugo GV cost a hilarious $4,199 ($13,963 and $10,941 in today's money). Power came from this 1.5-liter SOHC four-cylinder, rated at 70 horsepower. A turbocharged version with 110 horsepower was available as well. You could get an automatic transmission in the Spectrum, but this car has the base five-speed manual. This car didn't get the optional air conditioning, but at least it has the traditional Isuzu HVAC control icons featuring blow-dried hair and high-heeled dominatrix boots. Just over 170,000 miles on the odometer. Someone installed a pretty good (for the 1980s) Blaupunkt Charlotte CR148 cassette deck in the dash. This was a necessity if you wanted to enjoy full appreciation of the music of the era. The Spectrum is special! It's as slick as city rain. "I didn't spend a lot of money but with my Spectrum it looks like I did." Joe Isuzu mocked Toyota salesmen when pitching the I-Mark. As was nearly always the case during the 1980s, the JDM ads for the same car were much more fun. They should have recreated this commercial with Spectrums.
