2002 Chevrolet Tahoe Z71 Sport Utility 5.3l 4wd Florida Truck Nr No Reserve on 2040-cars

This is the perfect 4x4 SUV for just about anything. It has the power to tow, the factory off road package, and room inside for 5 adults to sit comfortably. I bought this truck last June when I sold my pickup so I could tow my Waverunners and make the occasional trips to Home Depot. The truck served it function well, but I have decided to start a lawn care business on the side and will need another pickup, so the Tahoe must go. I bought this truck intended to fully restore it, and it is the perfect truck to do this with because of it being a Florida truck with none of the typical northern rust. I have done some of the work, which I will list below, but there is some remaining. I am offering this at No Reserve, so it should be a great deal, especially for those of you up north still requiring 4WD. I have Clear Title in hand. Overall mechanical condition of the truck is good. Brand New Transfer Case Motor, 4WD Selector Switch, Idler and Pitman Steering Arms, A/C Belt Tensioner and Belt, and Transmission Flush. Additionally my mechanic replaced the rear main engine seal as it developed a slight oil leak. The truck now has no leaks. The only items identified by my mechanic to replace that have not been done are Front Struts, followed by an alignment and front tires. The truck currently pulls slightly right, and has worn out the front tires because of this. Additionally the rear wiper is not working. Other than that everything is in good mechanical condition. Cosmetically the truck is clean, but still needs some TLC to be perfect. The good news is there is no rust on this truck aside from where the paint is missing on the rear bumper. The underside and engine bay are amazingly clean for a 12 year old truck. The exterior has some dents which are shown in the pictures, and it needs a paint job. The passenger side rear cap for the luggage rack is missing as well. The alloy wheels show some cracking in the clear coat (cosmetic only). The interior restoration was begun by me. I replaced all the carpet with better than OEM material. The rear seats were replaced because of problems with the folding mechanism on the old ones. The new ones fold and stow as designed. The dash was completely removed and striped, and then repainted, so none of the typical peeling paint on the dash that is typical with these trucks. The front seats still need to be replaced (although the do operate properly) and some of the rear cargo trim. The headliner is beginning to sag as well. All of the windows work properly as well. Cruise control works. A/C blows cold. The stereo was replaced with a new Kenwood CD Player with USB and Aux inputs on the front. It has a remote control as well. I bypassed the factory amplifier as it wasn't working (common problem in these trucks), so the head unit powers all of the speakers now. |

IIHS gives good ratings to 4 of 8 midsize pickups in crash test
Wed, Sep 6 2017Versions of the Toyota Tacoma, Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon Crew Cab earned top ratings in a new crash test of midsize pickup trucks from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, while two versions of the Nissan Frontier earned marginal ratings. But the organization gave poor marks to all eight pickups tested for their dim headlights. Overall, four of the eight pickups evaluated earned good ratings for protecting occupants in all five crash test categories — the Tacoma double cab along with crew cab versions of the Colorado, Canyon and Tacoma. But the poor headlights and lack of an automatic emergency braking system blocked any of the pickups from qualifying for the IIHS's Top Safety Pick awards. The study looked at two pickup body styles using 2017 models: crew cabs, which have four full doors and two full rows of seating, and extended cabs, which have two full front doors, two smaller rear doors and compact second-row seats. It subjected each to five tests, and it evaluated the performance of front crash prevention systems and headlights. The Toyota Tacoma crew cab was the only pickup in that class that earned a good rating for structure in the small overlap test, which replicates what happens when a vehicle clips a tree, pole or another vehicle that has crossed the center line. The model's Access Cab extended-cab version was rated similarly, though its structure was rated acceptable. "This group of small pickups performed better in the small overlap front test than many of their larger pickup cousins," says David Zuby, the Institute's executive vice president and chief research officer. "The exception was the Nissan Frontier, which hasn't had a structural redesign since the 2005 model year." The extended-cab versions of the Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon earned acceptable ratings, while both the Nissan Frontier king-cab and crew-cab models were rated marginal. Toyota says its 2018 Tacoma will feature upgraded headlights and a standard autobraking system that can detect pedestrians. "Headlights are basic but vital safety equipment. Drivers shouldn't have to give up the ability to see the road at night when they choose a small pickup," Zuby said. Corvette Stingray gets optional Z06 components
Thu, Nov 5 2015If you've got a Corvette Stingray in the garage and have been tempted by some of the upgrades incorporated into the Z06, but can't quite bring yourself to trade up, Chevy has got some good news for you. The Bowtie brand has announced a series of performance parts derived from those in the Z06, but applicable to the base Stingray. The list of parts includes new cooling elements, prop shafts, brakes, suspension components, and underbody braces. They can all be fitted to Stingray models with or without the Z51 performance kit, and promise to raise the Corvette's game if not quite to Z06 levels, then closer to them. And for Z06 owners interested in gaining a bit more advantage, Chevy is offering a new Level 3 aero kit as well. The parts were demonstrated on upgraded 'Vettes at the Ron Fellows driving school at Spring Mountain. The school is also serving as technical partner and the track as the location for a new spec racing series built around the C7 Corvette. Dubbed the Michelin Corvette Challenge, the calendar is composed of fifteen half-hour races held in pairs over eight weekends, all on the six-mile circuit near Las Vegas. The cars to be used in the series will be close to showroom stock and feature many of the new Z06-derived upgrades, with Michelin racing slicks for dry weather and Pilot Super Sport tires in the wet. Perhaps most compelling of all will be the payment plan that will allow participating amateur racers to pay in installments across the season and take home their Corvette after the season's conclusion in December. New Z06 Parts Enhance Corvette Stingray Performance Broad range of chassis, suspension and aero components enhance capability 2015-11-02 PAHRUMP, Nev. – Chevrolet today and drivers from the Ron Fellows Corvette high-performance driving school at the Spring Mountain track demonstrated Stingray models enhanced with components from a new lineup of Z06-based performance parts. They're designed for 2014+ Stingray models, including Z51-equipped cars. "We've selected specific components from the Corvette Z06 and engineered them to fit the award-winning Stingray," said Jim Campbell, Chevrolet U.S. vice president of Performance Vehicles and Motorsports. "These Z06 parts enhance the handling, braking, cooling and downforce performance of the Stingray." Ron Fellows, champion Corvette Racing driver, collaborated with Chevrolet Performance engineers on the all-new portfolio.
