For sale is a 1999 Chevy Tahoe 2 door 2wd with a 3" Belltech lowering kit, 20" wheels with fair tires, magnaflow exhaust with stainless tips. The leather interior is nice for its age with new mats, after market cd player, and monster cable run for subs & amp. The paint is nice except for a dent and scratch on the rear quarter panel, the chrome bumpers, grill, and glass in good shape also. The truck also has the barn doors instead of the rear hatch. The engine has been changed from the vortec to a earlier Tahoe tpi setup. The engine, computer, new radiator and ac were all changed together. The Tahoe runs and drives great and everything but the gas gauge work as it should, BUT the emissions for the older tpi is different from the 99 vortec so please check your local emission standards for a modified vehicle. The complete OBD2 system has been removed and replaced with the OBD1 system from the donor vehicle. The Tahoe is a nice, completely rust free southern truck that would be perfect for a vortec or LS1 swap, or a weekend play toy as is. Chevy Chaparral 2X Vision Gran Turismo concept blends the past and the future

The Chevrolet Chaparral 2X Vision Gran Turismo is the rare concept car that salutes a seminal moment in history, yet also borders on science fiction.
Revealed Wednesday at the Los Angeles Auto Show, the concept uses the name of one of Chevy's historic racing partnerships, with Chaparral Racing, which dates to the 1960s. Chaparrals raced successfully at a range of levels, including IndyCar, Trans-Am and SCCA competition.
But the history ends there, as the concept's main purpose is as a racecar in a downloadable update for the PlayStation 3 game Gran Turismo 6.

GM forced to cut truck production amid semiconductor shortage

WASHINGTON — General Motors said Wednesday it will cut some truck production in North America because of the ongoing global semiconductor shortage. The largest U.S. automaker said its Flint Assembly plant that builds the Chevrolet Silverado HD and GMC Sierra HD trucks will operate on one production shift the week of July 26. GM said its Ft. Wayne Assembly plant in Indiana that builds the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 model trucks will be idled next week. GM's Silao Assembly plant in Mexico that also builds the Chevrolet Silverado 1500, Cheyenne (for the Mexico market) and GMC Sierra 1500 will also suspend production next week. All three plants are expected to resume regular production the week of August 2. Related video:

However, the newly uploaded look back at the 1984 Chevrolet Corvette is an absolute treasure trove for any auto history buff. This is a full episode of the show from the '80s, and it's dedicated to all of the details about the newest 'Vette to hit the market at the time. Beyond just the usual drive and an in-depth walk around, one of the major highlights here is a brief look at some on the concepts that eventually resulted in the fourth-generation Corvette of 1984.
