Free 1996 Chevrolet K1500 Suburban Ls 5.7lv8 4x4, Parts Truck, Mechanic Special on 2040-cars
New Holland, Pennsylvania, United States
Well this auction is for a sweet vintage Lancaster County Fire Chiefs Association hat. This is a one size fits all, quality double stitched hat that is very rare and highly sought after. The winning bidder will also receive free of charge, the 1996 Suburban that this sweet headpiece was found in! Yes that's right...Free! In all seriousness this 96 Suburban LS is a 2 owner accident free local truck that was traded in on a newer Yukon. This truck is pretty rough in and out. The folks who traded it in did it just in the nick of time too, on the way to a wholesale auction the transmission conked out. The vehicle does run but will need to be towed. I really can't tell you everything that is bad on it, but the obvious issues are: transmission, tires, drivers side door handle and drivers side mirror, a few dents, some rust on the passenger side rear quarter. I did shoot some photos underneath and rust does not seem to be a big problem with this truck. So you could either fix this up and have: a money maker, a rowdy muddin truck to haul all of your buddies to camp in, a parts truck to fix up one you currently own, a truck to totally part out and make some money, or heck a big bright red lawn ornament for when you get around to it.
I can help arrange shipping or towing, however the cost will be the sole burden of the winning bidder. Please feel free to call me directly at 717-203-9569 with any questions, my name is Kirk Newcomer. I also have some additional photos of the truck I can send via email. The vehicle is located in New Holland, PA 17557. 50 miles to Philadelphia, PA / 63 miles to Baltimore, MD / 97 miles to Washington, DC / 110 miles to Newark, NJ /118 miles to New York, NY /208 miles to Pittsburgh, PA |

Camaro driver clocked at 171 miles per hour
Wed, Apr 13 2016Chevy's 2016 Camaro SS is a fantastic piece of automotive engineering. It is also, apparently, very, very fast. This latter fact was perfectly illustrated when, on April 8, a Camaro SS driver was nailed in Two Harbors, Minnesota for doing 171 mph. According to WFAA, the unnamed speed demon was flying down Highway 61 near Two Harbors when Hermantown, MN Deputy Police Chief Shawn Padden clocked him at an eye-watering 171 mph. He then recorded the speeder at 168 and 141. At the time, Deputy Chief Padden was working with Minnesota State Patrol on an anti-DWI program called "Toward Zero Deaths". Padden, who was interviewed by the Duluth News Tribune, said he was surprised at the driver's sheer speed. "When he went by me, it was a blur," Padden told the News. "You get used to seeing people going 65 or 70 and what that looks like. But I've never seen anything like this. It's like a rocket on wheels." Fadden chased the Camaro down eventually, but it took some doing. To catch the Camaro, he pushed his Dodge Charger Pursuit to 135 mph just to get into range so the Camaro could see his emergency lights. The speeding driver was ticketed for careless driving, but may lose his license due to a Minnesota law that gives courts the option of revoking licenses for drivers caught doing more than 100 mph. Chevrolet FNR is a sharp vision of the future in Shanghai
Mon, Apr 20 2015The Shanghai Motor Show is about more than just displaying the latest extended-wheelbase luxury sedans to the Chinese populace. Chevrolet is taking advantage of the event to debut its vision of the future of motoring with the FNR concept, and the capsule looks like it could be fresh from off the set of Blade Runner. The FNR imagines what a fully autonomous, electric vehicle might look like many years from now and is meant to appeal to young, Chinese consumers. The concept's design from the minds at GM's Pan Asia Technical Automotive Center does a pretty neat magic trick, too. Most times it's a mass of glass and curving lines that looks very sci-fi, but then the dragonfly doors open upwards to reveal some knife-edged angles in the styling, as well. As a cutting-edge concept, this capsule is also packed with futuristic tech. Power comes from magnetic hubless electric motors in each wheel, and it could charge wirelessly. Crystal lasers generate the headlights and taillights, and radar in the roof would allow scanning the surroundings for autonomous driving. The interior is similarly imaginative as the rest of the styling. Passengers are enveloped in blue light while sitting in mostly mesh chairs with huge bolsters. Keys have been done away with entirely in favor of iris recognition. Once on the road, the front seats even swivel around to more easily talk with rear passengers. Check it all out in the gallery above for a glimpse a Chevy's vision of what might be next. The new models were introduced as Shanghai GM celebrates the 10th Anniversary of its Chevrolet brand in China. They will appear alongside 12 other models on the Chevrolet display at Auto Shanghai 2015, this year's leading auto show in China, which starts tomorrow. Chevrolet-FNR The Chevrolet-FNR is an autonomous electric concept vehicle that offers a glimpse at mobility of the future. It was developed in Shanghai by GM's Pan Asia Technical Automotive Center (PATAC) joint venture. Engineering, design and electrification teams drew on their past experience developing electric concept vehicles.
