One owner, vehicle maintenance always given at the Chevrolet dealer, tons of receipts to prove it. One favorite option on this Suburban is where the 8 cylinders shut down to 4 for more better fuel economy. Average 15 mpg on short trips and 18 mpg for a longer duration of driving. This Suburban is mechanically sound and runs great! The transmission shifts smooth, and the tires have around 20k miles on them. The 3rd row seats can be removed for more cargo room and the middle row fold forward which creates even more room. This Suburban is safe and reliable. To my knowledge, this vehicle needs nothing and is great for road trips. When needing 4WD, it's the easiest system that I've ever used. Simply, turn the switch to auto, 4 high, or 4 low for extreme conditions (I've not had to use that). I love how the Suburban handles in the snow and rain! Basically, this vehicle has every option including sunroof navigation DVD system and back up camera. I'm sure that I'm forgetting something, so please contact me for further questions. Full price includes 3 Months/4500 Miles WARRANTY Engine/Transmission.

Significant changes are in store for the 2009 Chevrolet Suburban, including a more fuel-efficient six-speed automatic transmission on all 1500 models, choice of two optional rearview cameras, standard 50/50-split third-row bench and Bluetooth connectivity. The navigation system now comes with real-time traffic capability, and the LTZ trim level gets 12-way heated/cooled leather seats and enhanced exterior trim. Available as two-wheel or four-wheel drive, the Suburban 1500 is equipped with an E85-capable 5.3L V8 that pumps out 310 hp and 335 lb-ft of torque, while a 6.0L V8 that packs 366 hp and 376 lb-ft of torque is optional, and both engines are paired to the new six-speed automatic transmission. Suburban 2500 trims come with a 6.0L V8 rated at 352 hp and 382 lb-ft of torque attached to a six-speed automatic. The Suburban 2500 can tow up to 9,600 pounds, seat up to nine passengers and provide up to 137.4 cubic feet of cargo space. Fuel economy ranges 14-16 mpg in combined driving, depending on the trim and the engine, while towing or carrying a heavy load can lower the mpg. Chevrolet Suburban safety features highlight antilock disc brakes, stability control, OnStar and three-row side curtain airbag system with a rollover sensor.

Here are a few of our automotive guilty pleasures

Tue, Jun 23 2020

It goes without saying, but I'll say it anyway. The world is full of cars, and just about as many of them are bad as are good. It's pretty easy to pick which fall into each category after giving them a thorough walkaround and, more important, driving them. But every once in a while, an automobile straddles the line somehow between good and bad — it may be hideously overpriced and therefore a marketplace failure, it may be stupid quick in a straight line but handles like a drunken noodle, or it may have an interior that looks like it was made of a mess of injection-molded Legos. Heck, maybe all three. Yet there's something special about some bad cars that actually makes them likable. The idea for this list came to me while I was browsing classified ads for cars within a few hundred miles of my house. I ran across a few oddballs and shared them with the rest of the team in our online chat room. It turns out several of us have a few automotive guilty pleasures that we're willing to admit to. We'll call a few of 'em out here. Feel free to share some of your own in the comments below. Dodge Neon SRT4 and Caliber SRT4: The Neon was a passably good and plucky little city car when it debuted for the 1995 model year. The Caliber, which replaced the aging Neon and sought to replace its friendly marketing campaign with something more sinister, was panned from the very outset for its cheap interior furnishings, but at least offered some decent utility with its hatchback shape. What the two little front-wheel-drive Dodge models have in common are their rip-roarin' SRT variants, each powered by turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder engines. Known for their propensity to light up their front tires under hard acceleration, the duo were legitimately quick and fun to drive with a fantastic turbo whoosh that called to mind the early days of turbo technology. — Consumer Editor Jeremy Korzeniewski  Chevrolet HHR SS: Chevy's HHR SS came out early in my automotive journalism career, and I have fond memories of the press launch (and having dinner with Bob Lutz) that included plenty of tire-smoking hard launches and demonstrations of the manual transmission's no-lift shift feature. The 260-horsepower turbocharged four-cylinder was and still is a spunky little engine that makes the retro-inspired HHR a fun little hot rod that works quite well as a fun little daily driver.

GM’s Charlie Wilson was right: Stronger regulations can help U.S. automakers

Fri, Oct 26 2018

Charlie Wilson had been the president and CEO of General Motors before being nominated to become secretary of defense by Dwight Eisenhower. During his Senate confirmation hearings, he controversially said, "For years I thought what was good for our country was good for General Motors, and vice versa." And he was right. While car companies aren't necessarily the most progressive when it comes to things that might have the slightest possibility of political blowback, General Motors should be credited for doing something absolutely forthright in this regard with its announcement that it wants the federal U.S. government not to squash the California Air Resources Board's emissions requirements but to actually create a 50-state "National Zero Emissions Vehicle" program that, in the words of Mark Reuss, executive vice president and president, Global Product Group and Cadillac, "will drive the scale and infrastructure investments needed to allow the U.S. to lead the way to a zero emission future." Filing comments to the Safer Affordable Fuel-Efficient Vehicles Rule for Model Years 2021-2026 Passenger Cars and Light Trucks is one thing. But a graphic the company developed for this announcement — shown above — is something else entirely, something that is absolutely credible, creative and clever. There is a photo of a Chevrolet Bolt EV driving along a highway, which seems to be in Marin County (based on the blurred San Francisco skyline in the background). Text on the photo states: "It's Time for American Leadership in Zero Emissions Vehicles." It seems to say, in effect, "If we want to make America great again, then we're going to do it by leading in technology, not by retreating behind weakened regulations." General Motors understands that the auto market is globally competitive, and if U.S.-based companies are going to be in the game, then they'd better be able to out-innovate the companies based elsewhere, where emissions and economy standards are not being weakened. Chevrolet Camaros at SEMA are a mobile accessory catalog

Wed, 06 Nov 2013

Chevy's goal at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas this week seems to be to show as much of its Performance and Accessories catalog as possible. That's why it brought three different Camaros - two with V8s and one powered by a V6 - with all of the best goodies from the catalog already fitted.
We gave a more in-depth recap of the Performance Camaro V8 Concept, the Performance Camaro V6 Concept and the Performance Garage Concept already, but we figured you'd like a short recap for each. It should be noted, though, that you can order all of the items you see here for your own Camaro, so be sure to take a long, hard look at our live galleries, just in case you're in the market for some mods.
Essentially, the Performance Garage Concept and the Performance V8 Concept are the same car - the only difference is that the later features a whole host of aesthetic tweaks in addition to its aftermarket, shorty exhaust headers and 2.75-inch exhaust. (The Performance Garage Concept has been usefully placed on its side; the better to see the new parts added to the vehicle.) The Performance V6 Concept is notable because, despite being a V6, there's no shortage of performance goodies fitted. All three of the Performance Camaros benefit from items from the Camaro ZL1, which can also be ordered through the catalog.
