For Sale, 1984 Chevy C10 Long Wheel Base

THIS IS NOT A SUBURBAN. I don't know why ebay insist on saying it is. It isn't, and never has been. Promise. Also, the Autocheck lists the score as an "8" because of "Calculated number of owners" being 8. Please understand, 5 are from the same family. Mileage on the vehicle is 90K, not rolled over. This was garage stored for years. Autocheck agrees.

Truck is clean, body is straight. No bondo. Bed in excellent condition, as well as wheel wells, etc. Surface rust on drivers side door jamb near the top, sandable. NO through rust, bubbling rust, or spreading rust anywhere on this vehicle. It's a survivor.

Here's a video of it being driven:

I mention a valve cover seeping in the video. This has been fixed, had the valve cover gaskets replaced at a $130 cost to me.

Rebuilt Chevy 350 and rebuilt 350 Turbo tran
Lots of upgrades to the engine and suspension
Runs excellent. Starts every time, no major mechanical issues. I drive it to and from work daily. I have a newer car and choose to drive this, I love this truck.
Recently repainted
Cold AC, Tilt Steering, power brakes and windows.
Newer wide tires and rims
2/4 drop to give it a level look
Runs SUPER strong. You will be surprised by the power this old 350 puts out.
Suspension and steering sector have been recently replaced - including the steering box. Turns as it did when new.
Tons of new parts. Alternator, AC compressor, Grill, headlights, edelbrock Carb, intake, etc etc

Interior isn't great, it's all there and isn't beat up or junked, but it's obviously 30 years old. Seat's in excellent condition and original. The power locks don't work, though you can pull them up or push them down the manual way. Passenger side window motor is weak, but works. Headlights come on when you start up the truck. Has a replacement wiring harness, which is good at 30 years old, but I'm guessing it was hooked up that way on accident. Either way, affects nothing. There are small dings if you get at eye level and really look - but still a remarkably straight original body.

This 30 year old truck has less wrong with it mechanically than my 8 year old lexus. It's a solid truck, and has been well maintained. Selling because I have to. Heartbroken about it.

This is a straight body box chevy that requires nothing. If you want a head-turning truck you can start driving daily tomorrow, this deal is hard to beat. Bid with confidence. I've sold several muscle cars and old trucks on here, all with A+ feedback.

For sale locally, I reserve the right to pull if there are no bids. Message me with questions or text 318-754-5009, I'd be happy to answer all questions. Buyer is responsible for getting it where it needs to go. I've changed the oil, checked the coolant, and checked the tire pressure - there's nowhere I wouldn't drive this vehicle. If you choose to ship, I'll meet the carrier near any local interstate to cut down on shipping costs. I'll even drive it myself if the buyer wants to pay the associated costs. Payment must be received before the truck goes anywhere. Cashiers check, personal check, cash, paypal (buyer pays the outrageous 3% fee), etc. All methods are fine, as long as it's converted into cash before the truck leaves.

GM finds steering flaw, decides it doesn't warrant a recall

Tue, Apr 14 2015

Guess what? General Motors is back in the spotlight for not recalling something. This time, though, not only does the company have an argument against a recall campaign, but its position is supported by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. According to The New York Times, over 50 owners of GM vehicles have reported instances of stuck or seized steering after driving long distances without moving the wheel. One owner complained to NHTSA that the "locked" steering of their 2013 Buick Verano caused a collision with a concrete barrier in a construction zone. Along with the 2013 to 2014 model year Verano sedans, Chevrolet Cruze and Malibu sedans are also affected. Considering the popularity of those models, GM needs to have a reason for not issuing a recall, right? "Based on a very low rate of occurrence – ranging from less than one half to less than two incidents per thousand vehicles – and the fact that the condition is remedied when the wheel is turned, GM determined this was not a safety issue," spokesman Alan Adler told The Times. The company has, however, issued a technical service bulletin for owners that complain of the problem. The fix is nothing more than a software update that is covered for 10 years or 150,000 miles from new. NHTSA cited GM's actions, along with descriptions of the problems from customers, in its decision not to issue a recall, with spokeswoman Catherine Howden saying, "the symptoms described would be a brief, perceptible change in steering feel that has little to no effect on the driver's ability to safely steer the vehicle." "When terms like 'notchy,' 'stick,' 'slip' or 'feel' are used, it does not indicate a meaningful increase in steering effort," Howden told The Times via email. What do you think? Is GM in the wrong here? Should there be a recall, or is the issue so limited as to not warrant one? Have your say in Comments. How easy is it to rebuild a Chevy small block V8?

Sat, Mar 21 2015

Chevrolet's famous small block V8 stands as one of the workhorse engines in American auto history, with its variants going into vehicles from hot rods to pickup trucks. But do you know that you can fully disassemble and completely restore one of these mills in just under four minutes? Well, as long as there's some assistance from time-lapse photography, that is. Hagerty created this short clip showing a dirt-covered small block turning from a frog into a prince. Thankfully, the time-lapse doesn't speed the process up too much, and it's still easy to see how all of the principal parts fit together. With all sorts of sensors and software helping to drive the modern automobile, viewing the internal combustion engine in its purely mechanical form is still fascinating. Related Video:
