Please take a moment to read our listing. If you have no feedbacks or negative feedbacks, please contact us prior to bidding. We will make every attempt to fairly and accurately describe this vehicle to you. Any errors are unintentional but also realize this is a used vehicle and shows signs of wear. This truck was originally bought certified pre-owned in 2005 with low mileage so the company is the second owner. It was used as a company truck and therefore maintained regularly as it was used for Land Surveying and has a lot of highway mileage. It drives great and the 5.3 L Vortec engine is strong with a lot of power. We are selling this vehicle because it has approached our mileage standard. EXTERIOR: Overall the body is in great shape for its age. It has the original paint all around but does have many minor surface scratches etc. There is rust under both rocker panels as shown in the pictures. The windshield has a low crack (out of view of driver) but did pass inspection last year with it. There is a dent in the right rear bumper and above the passenger door but nothing that affects the drivability or the integrity of the body. This truck has a locking bed cap with three locking windows. Great for locking up personal items or work equipment while keeping everything dry. This cap alone was $2,000.. INTERIOR: The interior has been cleaned with the seats having been shampooed. The floor shows normal wear as a work vehicle as well as the driver’s seat with a 2” diameter hole from general wear. The speedometer, tachometer and oil pressure gauge have shut off. Our mechanic says it’s a $350 fix at a specialized repair shop for the dashboard. This is a roomy extended cab truck with great potential to last a long time. MECHANICAL: During our inspection we found this Chevy to be in overall great shape. The motor is quiet and powerful, delivering power in combination with smooth shifting transmission. The front end is tight and the tires are about 15% worn as are the brakes. The transfer case engages smoothly without delay. All options work and this Chevy is ready to drive anywhere. PLEASE FEEL FREE TO EMAIL US OR CALL GREG AT 631 427 5665 WITH ANY QUESTION/CONCERNS. WE HAVE SOLD ONE OTHER COMPANY TRUCK ON EBAY A FEW YEARS BACK WITH A PROBLEM WITH A NON PAYING BIDDER. IF YOU ARE NOT SERIOUS ABOUT THIS PURCHASE OR YOU HAVE NO FEEDBACK, PLEASE DO NOT BID ON THE TRUCK. IT’S ADVISED STRONGLY TO SEE THE TRUCK BEFORE MAKING THE PURCHASE TO BE SURE YOU ARE 100% SATISFIED. $500 DEPOSIT IS DUE WITHIN 24 HOURS OF END OF AUCTION VIA PAYPAL OR CREDIT CARDS AND THE BALANCE IS DUE WITHIN 5 DAYS IN THE FORM OF BANK CERTIFIED FUNDS OR CASH (PREFERRED). IF YOU ARE PLANNING TO FLY INTO LONG ISLAND AND DRIVE BACK, MACARTHUR AIRPORT IN ISLIP NY IS YOUR BEST BET, WHICH IS LOCATED 25 MINUTES EAST OF MELVILLE. |

Valet mode captures joyride in red Corvette
Thu, Dec 18 2014A man in California is among the first to catch a valet behaving badly in his 2015 Corvette using a controversial built-in recording feature. Dan Cowles told KTLA 5 when he bought his dream car, a 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, he opted for the Performance Data Recorder. The Corvette PDR uses a high-definition camera mounted in the windshield header, a microphone in the cabin and a GPS receiver that record and track the sports car's movements and sounds. They work together to produce a video with telemetry overlay, so you can see acceleration rates, lap times and g-forces. The system can be customized to show extensive performance data, or simply video of your drive like a traditional dash cam. It also comes with Valet Mode, which locks the glove box, disables entertainment and records video. The audio recording feature ran afoul of several state's recording consent laws, but this video has no audio, indicating the fix may have been as easy as turning off the microphone. Cowles dropped off his hot red 'Vette with the valets at the Segerstrom Center for the Performing Arts in Costa Mesa, CA. When he got his car back he checked the PDR and discovered footage of the valet taking a short, but intense, joyride in the garage. In the video, the valet finds a straightaway in a tiered parking garage and pushes the car to 50 miles per hour in five seconds before quickly stopping. He then parks the car without incident. The valet then gets out of the car and takes one more admiring look at the front. The valet company has yet to commented on the video, according to Fox News, but valets everywhere should be on notice; that little red Corvette you have your eye on may have its eyes on you. GM Design shows what could have been and what might be
Thu, May 27 2021We periodically like to check in with GM Design's Instagram account to see what they're cooking up. Even better is when we catch a glimpse of an alternate history of what legendary designers from The General's past were thinking, though those ideas may not have made it into production. This week, for example, the account posted some illustrations from George Camp, whose career at GM spanned nearly four decades, from 1963 to 2001. One of the renderings is of what appears to be a 1971-72 Pontiac GTO Judge, but with two headlights instead of the production unit's quad beams. The rear departs from the canonical version most dramatically, with a massive integrated wing. Other bits that didn't make the production cut include large side vents, a gill-like side marker and rectangular intakes below the headlights that wouldn't be out of place on a modern design today. Amazingly, from what we can make out of the date, it appears that the drawing was done sometime in 1965, which makes it quite prescient.      View this post on Instagram            A post shared by GM Design (@generalmotorsdesign) There's also a very aerodynamic interpretation of a Corvette ZR-1. To our eyes it splits the difference between the 1986 Corvette Indy concept and a fourth-generation F-body Pontiac Firebird, so perhaps parts of Camp's work on this sketch did make it into physical form. There's also a radical sports car concept from May 1970 that resembles the Mazda RX-500 concept from the same year, a Syd Mead-looking Cadillac coupe, and an Oldsmobile with a cool take on the company's trademark waterfall grille and elements of the Colonnade Cutlass at the rear. Other recent posts include a FJ Cruiser-like off-road EV, a sleek coupe with the Chevy corporate grille, and a rendering of a Silverado-esque pickup that looks far better than the current production version.      View this post on Instagram            A post shared by GM Design (@generalmotorsdesign) It's pretty easy to lose hours in the account, but it's always fascinating to see GM's visions of what could have been and what might be. 2016 Chevy Malibu exhaustively tested with four decades of data
Fri, Mar 13 2015Chevy is preparing to unveil its new Malibu sedan at the upcoming New York Auto Show next month. But when it does, it's not like it will have appeared overnight. The development of any new vehicle – especially one as widely produced by a major automaker as the Malibu – involves rigorous and relentlessly punishing tests. In the Malibu's case, that meant 1.5 million miles of driving from the scorching heat of Arizona in July to the frigid cold of northern Canada in January and everything in between. The Bowtie brand also says it incorporated four decades' worth of data taken from vehicles driving in locations around the world since 1972 in order to make the Malibu the best it could be. We'll have to wait to find out the results of all that exhaustive testing, but you can catch a sneak peek at the new sedan in the video above. Four Decades of Data Used to Test 2016 Chevrolet Malibu Recorded customer use drives durability testing for next-generation midsize sedan 2015-03-11 DETROIT – Data collected over decades from across the globe is helping ensure the 2016 Chevrolet Malibu can handle the world's worst roads even if the all-new midsize sedan never drives on them. Data collection boxes are placed in cars in real-world driving conditions around the world. Since 1972, these devices have accurately recorded the harshness and frequency of every jounce, bump and shudder inflicted on the car on roads in the U.S., Russia, Saudi Arabia and developing markets. "Although most Malibu owners will never put their car through similar abuse, we test all new vehicles in extreme climates, inclement weather and on punishing road surfaces," said Dan Devine, Malibu validation engineer. "The 2016 Malibu is definitely up to these challenges." Tests like these ensured the current generation Malibu was dependable and durable, two qualities that in turn helped Malibu stand out from its rivals in important quality surveys, such as J.D. Power's Initial Quality Study and Vehicle Dependability Study. General Motors engineers analyze the data to calculate the precise amount of damage potholes and other hazards create over 150,000 miles. Then the conditions are replicated at GM's Milford Proving Ground in Michigan on three unique road courses, each riddled with simulated potholes of increasing severity. Engineers run preproduction cars through the course up to hundreds of times.
