100% POSITIVE FEEDBACK AND STRIVING TO KEEP IT THAT WAY

This is my personal work truck that i have had for 6 years, it starts on the first turn of the starter every

time, just like chevy trucks should!!! Motor runs smooth, and the truck drives straight. Shifts in and out of 4

wheel drive (push button) easily like it should, great truck in the mud, sand and snow. With the G80 locking

rear I've never gotten stuck!

I bought this truck 6 years ago from a dealer in Kentucky. It was exactly like the truck I was currently driving at the time,

(but my current truck had over 300K miles on it...) This truck had some damage to the roof of the cab and was purchased

at auction by a dealer, who then listed it on  eBay and sold it to me. This truck had 45k miles on it. My plan was to use the

body parts from my old truck to fix the new, then keep the old for a parts truck, which is what I did. The damage was

to the roof of the cab, top of the passenger side doors and top of bed rail only, there was never any frame damage and the

airbags never deployed! I drove the truck in its damaged state 12 hours and 720 miles home nonstop Kentucky to

Maryland with no problems. Then I had a local body man do the work of switching the parts as needed and paint the

entire truck. The body work and paint weren't the best, but they were good enough for a work truck and i proceeded to

drive this truck trouble free with the exception of minor common Silverado repairs for 125,000 miles.

THE GOOD

She has a solid set of Michelins on her, they went on at 132,000 miles. I had a front end alignment done at

the time even tho i didn't think it needed it, just wanted the tires to last as long as possible, the tec even

said it wasn't that far out. They were rotated every 5k, I have the paperwork to support that. They still have

good tread and never leak any air!

I replaced the breaks a while back, not sure how long ago but i used the top quality brand from Kunkles

auto, they have been great, truck breaks nice, smooth and quiet!!!

I have several reciepts for oil changes from the dealer, when I was busy I would have a shop change the

oil, but if I had time I would do it myself, I started using the synthedic blend oil from the day i bought the

truck. It has never missed an oil change!!! (it is due for one now)

I just put a new alternatior on, the battery holds a charge fine, it just sat for 2 weeks straight and I leaned

in and turned the key, it started right up!!!  And its 32 deg's out!!!

All the gauges work!

THE AC BLOWS ICE COLD!!!

THE HEAT IS A FLAME THROWER!!!

Has the G80 locking rear! I will never own a truck again that does not have a locking rear!!!

Has trailer package. Has push button 4x4, Love it!!!

Passed emmissions 3 times since I've owned it, flew right through! Paper work says its good till July 24, 2013.

Maryland title in hand!

THE BAD

Truck has several dents in the body, the worst one being the rear passenger roof/top of rear door and front passenger

fender/hood. These were from a tree branch. The door does not leak. There are several other small dents, please see

pictures.

The antenna was broken off when I bought it, it didn't bother me because I had a sirius radio in it. The cd player does

work!!!

The paint didn't come out the color I intended, and it wasn't a great job to begin with, and now the clear is starting to

peal...

Check engine light is on, I took it to the local shop and the code is for a vent valve on the gas tank, (they performed an

$85 smoke test to be sure) I have the paper work from them. I was told it was nothing to worry about and it wouldn't

affect performance so I opted not to worry about it. (if you disconnect the battery it clears the codes and resets the

computer then you can take it to emissions and it will pass again I'm sure, thats what I had to do for the last one.)

Seat belts are a little frayed, Windshield is cracked on passenger side along the edge, tailgate is banged up, but still

latches on one side, handle works. Passenger door handle was broken off and glued back on with silicone, still works,

just a little funky. Driver side back door handle linkage broke. need to reach in to use interior handle, not a big deal...

center console lid broke and I put it back on with screws its a little out of align but opens and closes. The finish

is flaking off the rims.

Although I do have a title in hand and it is "clear" the vin shows as salvage because the original owner was paid out by

the insurance company. The truck after I had it fixed was inspected by the Maryland State Police and passed and

inspected by the Chevrolet dealer in Elkton and passed.  The fender flare on the bed is covering a rust hole (the bed

came off the old truck because it was in better condition at the time!) The under carriage frame etc is fairly rust free,

please look at the pics, nothing alarming,  but nothing is better then a personal inspection!

THE UGLY
Recently the transmission started shifting funny, now It has first and second only, it still runs and drives

fine, it just wont shift into 3rd or 4th. So it can be test driven, but only to 40 mph max!!! It is still tagged and I

am still using it to make dump runs and put the boat in at my neighborhood boat ramp. I just drive slow,

keeping the rpm below 3k, I will let you test drive it to prove it is what I say it is but you will need to bring

your own tags if you are going to attempt to drive home.

If you can replace the trans, or are looking for a ton

of good parts this is the truck for you! Although it still

drives and I would bet a million dollars it would make it

across the country at 40 mph, you should probably

figure on having it towed.

AS IS WHERE IS, NO WARRIENTIES, PLEASE COME AND LOOK! I HAVE TRIED TO

BE FORTHCOMING BUT YOUR INSPECTION MAY REVIEL SOMETHING I HAVE FORGOTEN TO

INCLUDE IN THE AD!

NO ZERO FEED BACK BIDDERS!!! SORRY IT'S JUST NOT WORTH IT!!!

$300 DEPOSIT DUE AT END OF AUCTION PAYPAL OR OTHER, REMAINDER IN CASH AT TIME OF

TRANSACTION, WITHIN 7 DAYS OF END OF AUCTION. IF YOU PREFER TO PAY THE FULL AMOUNT

WITH PAYPAL YOU WILL NEED TO COVER THEIR FEES.

BID TO WIN BUT BE READY TO PAY! THE TIME FOR LOOKING AND TEST DRIVING IS BEFORE THE END OF THE AUCTION, WHEN YOU WIN BE READY TO COMPLETE THE TRANSACTION!!! IF WHEN YOU ARIVE YOU FEEL I HAVE MISS REPRESENTED THE TRUCK I WILL REFUND YOUR DEPOSIT!!! BUT PLEASE COME LOOK BEFORE THAT!!!

On Mar-22-13 at 06:59:45 PDT, seller added the following information:

Something just came to mind, the truck doesn't use any oil, however this truck and my last one and my friends tahoe all of the same model year, do use about a half gallon of antifreeze between oil changes, i think it leaks it, but it is a common problem with all this body style 2000-2006.  Just want there to be no supprises! Thanks for looking!!!

GM's Oshawa plant may close after Camaro production moves

Sat, Feb 7 2015

Most of the time, when vehicle production is moved from one assembly plant to another, it spells bad news for the former. While General Motors won't go so far as to say its Oshawa, Ontario factory, which is losing the Chevrolet Camaro to the Lansing Grand River plant, is in trouble, analysts seem to think the factory's days are numbered. Forecasts for the facility are far from positive. The loss of the Camaro this year, combined with GM's targeted shutdown of a single-shift assembly line responsible for the fleet-only Chevy Impala Limited and the Equinox crossover is a bad enough omen. But with AutoForecast Solutions CEO Joe McCabe telling The Detroit News that the plant's other two products, the Cadillac XTS and Buick Regal, aren't likely to stick around beyond 2017, things look decidedly grim at Oshawa. "There is a fairly strong chance that the plant could close," Jeff Schuster, senior VP of forecasting for LMC Automotive, told The Detroit News. That doesn't mean that Unifor, Canada's auto union, and the Canadian government are going to let the factory die without a fight. And with the latter chipping in $10 billion as part of GM's 2009 bailout, you might think it has a degree of leverage in the situation. A meeting between the government and the Detroit Three at the 2015 North American International Auto Show revealed that Oshawa is already a topic of conversation. "We made it very clear that we would like to see an indication on the future of Oshawa sooner, in particular because the timing is very challenging for our supply chain to be able to adjust to potentially future orders or changes, but also to know that there are going to be future opportunities at Oshawa," Ontario's Minister of Economic, Development, Employment and Infrastructure Brad Duguid told The Detroit News. "Bottom line: It's time they made a longer-term commitment here," Unifor President Jerry Dias said, echoing Duguid's statements. It's unclear if this sort of strong talk will be enough to save 3,300-plus employees, although based on the analysts' forecasts, we doubt it.

Autoblog In Cuba: 1957 Chevy Bel Air Review

Mon, Oct 5 2015

If you've been following the Autoblog In Cuba series, you may remember that my efforts to rent a car in the country were ultimately unsuccessful. Misinformation, bad planning, and a lack of rental car inventory conspired to disrupt my hoped-for driving adventure. I discovered in my week of exploration, however, that the terrific thing about Havana is that there's always another adventure to be found – if you're willing to look. A car I could drive myself might have been impossible to come by, but a ride to remember was not. After all, even when reviewing a new car, I've found that impressions about the car and the route can be credibly formed from the right seat. Starting from the parking lot of the grand Hotel Nacional, finding an interesting car for hire is as simple as walking up and down the block. Scads of classic American iron wait just outside the hotel gates, in a riot of colors and conditions befitting the tropical climate. Fords from the 1940s are plentiful – more sedans than coupes – and the glory days of General Motors are represented by enough Pontiacs and Cadillacs to fill a Bruce Springsteen B-sides album. But the Chevy Bel Air is the king of the road here, by some margin. View 30 Photos I settled on a burnt orange 1957 Chevy Bel Air convertible, in tourist-appropriate condition. I was looking for a hardtop at the request of my crew's audio/video needs, but settled on a burnt orange 1957 Chevy Bel Air convertible, in tourist-appropriate condition. This car might look good as a prop in the background on your vacation photos – hair blowing in the breeze with the ocean at your back, parked in front of Che's face in Revolution Square, etc. – but was far from pristine on a closer inspection. A perfect representative of the Cuban average. At least the price was right: $50 for two hours to make it 12 miles to Hemingway's house, and back. My driver was a kid named Daniel who looked to be about 20 years old. The Chevy doesn't belong to him, he co-drives it with the owner, but he was able to give me the basic mechanical rundown. The eight- or six-cylinder engine that Chevy shipped this convertible with was long gone. No surprise there, as nearly every American-made car I'd ridden in so far was powered by some belching Mercedes diesel. Despite it's clattering note, Daniel said the lump under the hood of the '57 drinks gas: a four-cylinder of Russian origins, pulled out of a GAZ Volga as best I can understand.

GM's Reuss predicts 2016 Chevy Camaro will outperform Ford Mustang in every way

Tue, Apr 7 2015

We aren't going to be seeing the next-generation Chevrolet Camaro until next month. But even though we know when we're going to see the new muscle car, it's totally unclear whether Chevy will dole out technical details. That means we can't answer the latest version of the age-old question: Camaro or Ford Mustang? Not surprisingly, General Motors North America President Mark Reuss has already stated his position, saying he was "very confident" that the sixth-generation Camaro will be faster, more agile and more efficient than the Ford. Reuss made his comments after saying he drove the new Camaro back-to-back with the Mustang the week prior. Reuss' statement came in a conversation with Fox News about the 2016 Camaro where he elaborated on the car's weight shedding and how it fit into GM's strategy on other new models. "There are some really cool things in the Camaro, that are quite different than the Malibu, [and] CT6," Reuss told Fox. As we reported previously, the Camaro will shed some 200 pounds by switching to aluminum and other lightweight composites for some of its components. With May 16 just over a month away, here's hoping Reuss decides to loose some other details on the next Camaro ahead of its debut. Related Video:
