All of the body panels are steel and laser straight.  The Paint is Flawless (Show Quality with stripes going over hood and roof than ending on tailgate)

Motor is an AC DELCO remanufactured 350 4 bolt main. It has a Crower Cam, Pete Jackson gear drive, RPM air gap intake, 750  Speed Demon Carb, HEI dist. with MSD two step.  The motor was also Professionally tuned.

Stainless Exhaust, Long tube headers and Thrush S/S Mufflers.

Transmission is a Tremec TKO-600 5sp.  With a Lakewood SFI Bell housing, Fidanza  Aluminum Flywheel and a Zoom Hydro Clutch.

Rear end is a 12 bolt that has been narrowed and big Ford ends installed. the inside has a posi with 3.73 gears and Mark Williams 31 Spline axles

The truck was backhalved with a Custom Chromoly 4 Link Suspension. Very cool and high tech! It is all Adjustable and has a swaybar with double adjustable coil over shocks..

Truck has  Power disk brakes all around, Power steering, Tubular A arms with adjustable Coil over shocks, Swaybars front and rear, 30 gallon Fuel cell, Optima battery, 17in American Racing Torqlite wheels  Front tires are 225/45 and rears are 275/55; has room for 325s in rear.

This is NOT the Typical V-8 Swap. The Engine is lowered and moved back in the chassis for better weight distribution for sports car handling!   Its well built with quality parts thoughout.. This truck gets a lot of attention everywhere it goes. And handles like a sports car.. The only condition issues are the seat covers and door panels as they're part of the rare ZQ8 option.  They are showing some wear due to being original.

This truck was built and used as a street machine. It now has 18,600 miles on it with no problems.  Fly in and drive it home!

Junkyard Gem: 1987 Chevrolet Turbo Sprint

Sun, Feb 6 2022

Fifteen years ago, I wrote my first-ever automotive article under the name Murilee Martin, and it didn't take me long to start writing about one of my favorite automotive subjects: the junkyard. Before I'd refined my system for documenting discarded vehicles, however, I shot a lot of boneyard photos that never got used. For today's Junkyard Gem, I have four shots from early 2007 of one of the rarest turbocharged machines of the 1980s: the Chevrolet Turbo Sprint. The Chevrolet Sprint was really a rebadged Suzuki Cultus, from the pre-Geo era when General Motors sold the Isuzu Gemini as the Chevrolet Spectrum, the Daewoo LeMans as the Pontiac LeMans and the Toyota Corolla as the Chevrolet Nova (soon enough, the Spectrum became a Geo, and the Nova became the Prizm). The second-generation Cultus appeared in 1988, becoming the Geo Metro on our shores the following year. The Turbo Sprint was available for just the last two years of the Sprint's 1985-1988 American sales run, and it appears that just a couple of thousand were sold; if I'd known at the time just how rare they were, I'd have shot more photos of this one at the now-defunct Hayward Pick Your Part. The turbocharged 993cc three-cylinder produced 70 horsepower, 22 better than the naturally-aspirated version. Since the Turbo Sprint weighed just 1,620 pounds (that's about 500 pounds lighter than a barely more powerful '22 Mitsusbishi Mirage), it was plenty of fun to drive. For 1988, the regular Sprint hatchback cost $6,380 while the Turbo Sprint listed at $8,240 (that's about $15,375 and $19,855 today, respectively). Believe it or not, a Turbo Sprint actually raced in the 24 Hours of Lemons 10 years ago, though it didn't end well. This ad is for the regular Cultus, not the Cultus Turbo, but the screaming guitars sound reasonably turbocharged. For the most part, Chevy Sprint marketing was all about cheap purchase price and stingy fuel economy… at a time when gasoline prices were cratering. Related Video:

Least reliable cars and trucks of 2022

Tue, Nov 15 2022

Related: Most reliable cars and trucks of 2022   Every year, Consumer Reports ranks new cars based on their predicted reliability. We often see Toyota, Lexus, and a few other automakers near the top. But on the other side of the coin, the list of least reliable vehicles sometimes contains surprises.   The organization surveys its members to determine the vehicles that exhibited the most problems over the prior year. Owners are asked about creaks and rattles, the durability of parts and trim, and mechanical issues. Consumer Reports assigns a weight to each problem and then uses them to create a score, with 100 being the best. Some familiar names appear on the list of least reliable vehicles (in order with the lowest predicted reliability score at the top), but there are a few eyebrow-raising models, followed by CR's score: Ford F-150 Hybrid: 4 Hyundai Kona Electric: 5 Lincoln Aviator: 8 Nissan Sentra: 9 Ford Explorer: 16 Chevrolet Bolt: 17 Chevrolet Silverado 1500/GMC Sierra 1500: 19 Jeep Gladiator: 21 Mercedes-Benz GLE: 23 Jeep Wrangler: 24 Consumer Reports noted that sedans are the most reliable vehicle category and found that trucks are far lower on the list. That said, the survey showed that trucks from American brands tended to have better reliability scores, so it’s surprising to see GMÂ’s big two and the Ford F-150 on the list. Part of their problematic ownership experience could be due to the fact that all three trucks have received recent updates, and the Ford was completely redesigned for 2022. New tech, fresh drivetrain components, and other improvements can upset the balance of reliability and make newer models look less dependable than their older counterparts.
