Here is a incredibly preserved 1985 GMC S15 pickup. It has 39,710 original miles, it was driven about 100 miles a month ! It was purchased new at Mike McCarthy GMC in Westminster CA and never left the Southern CA area. It was garage kept it's entire life and shows it. It was driven minimally by a disabled senior who eventually could not drive anymore. There is no rust or corrosion. A bedliner was installed when it was new, there are no scratches in the bed. It has never been in an accident. The original paint and interior looks only a few years old. The undercarriage of the truck still has black, shiny paint ! The condition of this truck is simply amazing! If you click on the multiple pictures, and point the curser over them, they will enlarge and you can see in close magnified detail this very clean truck, there is nothing to hide here. There is NO RESERVE and it will sell for the highest bid. 1985 GMC S15 long bed Runs and drives well 39,710 original miles 2.8 V6, auto transmission Loaded with all options, AC, auto, power window, locks, etc. Bedliner installed when truck was new. Has never towed a trailer Interior is in mint shape, no dash cracks, no fading, headliner, visors, seats, door panels all very nice Body and original paint XLNT, no damage or fading You have to really try hard to find a flaw in the truck All chrome and plastic exterior trim XLNT, this was garaged so very little aging Engine bay very clean as it should be with under 40k miles Undercarriage clean, rust free. Still has spots where it is still shiny black ! CA registration expired 10/13, $181 is due to bring to current status in CA. If you are an OUT OF STATE buyer, you do not have to pay any fees from CA Spare tire, tools, jack in order Clear title and all original books ISSUES: The engine does not idle smoothly due to a vacuum leak and therefore lean idle. I know it is a vacuum leak because I can spray carburetor cleaner (fuel) near the EGR valve/rear of carburetor area and the engine idle speeds up and it idles perfectly. I can't find where it is coming from, there are lots of vacuum hoses, fittings, and things back there. It does idle, and runs and drives great, and you can drive home anywhere, but just does not idle as it should and eventually this needs to be found and fixed. There is a very small ding on the bottom of the driver door where it hit a curb or something when opened. There is a very small chip in the windshield. I have the title as seen in the picture. I can pick you up at the airport or help you arrange auto transport. I can deliver the truck to the LA area for $125. If you want to drive it home, I can get you a DMV one trip permit. I go on vacation JUNE 10, so pickup must be before then or in July. If this truck is not as I described when you get here, I will return your deposit and you don't have to buy it. Jay Leno gets pulled over while roaring in a Corvette Z06 convertible
Tue, Jan 6 2015No one is above the law, even if that person is a certain silver-haired auto enthusiast with a popular weekly video series about the cars in his garage. This week, Jay Leno experiences the 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Z06, but he also gets to have a meeting with some of California's Finest immediately after a high-speed blast. As opposed to the full-bore Z06 coupe with the seven-speed manual, Leno gets behind the wheel of the slightly heavier convertible version with the eight-speed auto. Being a droptop doesn't bother him too much, but Leno makes it obvious he wishes that he could be shifting for himself. Even if the auto is technically quicker, Leno says that swapping gears gives him something to do while driving. Of course, one of the major advantages of the convertible is the ability to listen to the Z06's thumping V8 unimpeded. With 650 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque from 6.2-liters of supercharged muscle, it already puts down impressive numbers, but the sound might just be the best part of all. Around town, the 'Vette is quiet enough to easily blend in with the rest of traffic. However, tip the throttle down and the valves in the exhaust open up to turn the engine into roaring monster. Be careful where you make this thing howl, though, because it's pretty easy for the police to take notice. The host finds that out the hard way in this week's episode of Jay Leno's Garage. Corvette Stingray Shooting Brake under consideration by Callaway [w/poll]
Mon, 18 Mar 2013Callaway has released a few renderings of a design study for a shooting brake version of the C7 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. The company says it wants to create a long-roof version of America's sports car to offer buyers more interior room and a vehicle with "unique style." The company says it will use structural carbon fiber for the new body bits, which suggests the conversion shouldn't add too much more weight to the Corvette. Along with a few mechanical tweaks, the Callaway Corvette Stingray AeroWagon could breeze past the 200 miles per hour barrier.
Provided that they get enough interest, Callaway estimates they will be able to effect the changes on the Chevrolet for around $15,000, and says the conversion work should be available through its network of dealers. GM files to trademark name Badlands
Mon, Feb 23 2015If you've been hoping for General Motors to come out swinging at the Ford F-150 Raptor, we've had some tantalizing news for you of late. Last month we brought you a report that indicated GM has trademarked the name "Z71 Trail Boss," suggesting a potential hardcore off-roader. Now it seems the General has filed for a potentially even better name. That name, as our friends over at GM Authority have discovered, is "Badlands." The application, filed on February 16, indicates that it's for a truck, but of course it doesn't specify just what form it would take... or for that matter, under which division it would fall. So we could, in theory, be looking at the nameplate for a Raptor rival from Chevy or GMC (like the 2011 Sierra All Terrain HD concept pictured here), or for some other trim level, a concept truck, a special edition... just about anything. Heck, it could be for a Vauxhall, Opel or Holden for all we know at this point. Or GM could choose not to use it on anything at all, but here's hoping it'll emerge as something awesome in US showrooms sometime soon.
