I will be out of the state July 12-14 and the truck will not be available until after that if auction is allowed to end.

I also reserve the right to end this auction at ANY TIME (to include if the BIN is used without my knowledge) due to local sale or trade-in.

If you want to know about this truck, READ BELOW, don't just look at the few pictures I am allowed to post and ask me questions that are covered below!

The stereo in the pics does not come with it. It will have the factory working am/fm cassette put back in. The lower plow mount and joystick/wiring does not come with it either.

This is my very reliable '94 S10. It was purchased new by my Step Father, then I bought it in '06 with 196k miles. The truck now has 290,300 and is going up daily at a rate of 85 miles a day, or more. This truck is in exceptional shape for being a nearly 20yr old Michigan truck. I would, and do drive this truck ANYWHERE without a concern as does my wife and daughter. I would gladly keep this truck but the wife is tired of me stealing her Tahoe all weekend long to trailer my drag car so it's time for me to step up to a full size.

BASICS;

4.3L High Output 195 Horsepower Vortec CPI engine. Runs great, just got new plugs, wires, cap, and rotor within the last month. Valve seals (have new ones just never put in), and or guides are worn so it smokes at start-up and has done this for several years, yet it still doesn't consume hardly any oil in 3000 miles between oil changes. Has 40lbs oil pressure going down the road and about 25lbs at idle. Service Engine Soon light comes on after engine is up to temp and cruise control is set due to the EGR valve being unhooked because of an internal short which blows fuses. I can hook up a scanner to prove this is the only reason the light comes on. I've had the EGR unhooked for several years in this fashion without issue other than staring at the SES light. In the summer the truck gets 20-21MPG and on the junk winter blend gets 17-18MPG routinely on my 85 mile/day commute.

4L60E 4spd Automatic Transmission. Works great, doesn't slip, shifts as it should with no problems.

Transfer Case/4wd. Manual floor mounted selector, 4 HI and 4 LO work as they should with no problems.

Tires. 31x10.50/15 Goodyear Wranglers with tons of tread left.

Chassis. I just put a Moog problem solver pitman arm on the truck and it still could use an alignment. A few years ago I also put a Moog problem solver idler arm on it, and I want to say in '07 the front steering components were replaced; ball joints, tie rod ends, and tie rods. I also just put in a new transmission mount and torsion bar mount. The rear springs have a Pro-Comp "add-a-leaf" in them so it doesn't squat when you put a measly 100#s in the box. Rear axle pinion seal has a small leak. The gas tank was replaced with a lifetime warranted Gas Tank Renu tank in '07. There is a trailer hitch and wiring on the truck and I have towed my car trailer with car on it, and one time even our old 25' travel trailer 30 miles (not recommended). The truck also got a new radiator this spring, or last fall as well as new rear brake drums/shoes around the same time. I have receipts for mostly everything I have put into this truck over the course of my ownership. The ABS module is unhooked and has been since my Step Dad owned it and nearly rear ended someone with it hooked up.

Body. Box, tailgate, front d-side fender, grill, and rocker panels were replaced in 2009 after hitting a deer, that is also when it was prepped, sealed, and repainted by myself so there are imperfections in the paint ie; runs, and orange peel. Cab corners were "repaired" in '06 but as you can see they are gone again. The hood has a spot where a chemical soaked rag was layed on it shortly after it was painted :-{  can be seen in one of the pics. There are also the normal scratches/gouges, dents, and surface rust as seen in the pics.

Interior. There is one nickel size hole in the driver's seat and that is it for the seats other than stains. The carpet is very stained from hauling parts, and kids over the course of nearly 20yrs. The headliner is in good shape without any drooping. One of the hinges on the glovebox is broken but it still shuts and latches as if nothing is wrong. The cup holder between the front seats no longer attaches to the mount as it should so I have a glove stuffed under it to keep it up. The plastic pcs on the outside of the jumper seats are cracked. The backrest adjustment knob is broken off of the driver's seat. The heater blower motor only works on low or full high, if placed in the middle settings smoke WILL come out of the dashboard. I believe it needs a new resistor but I didn't care to fix it as high and low worked just fine for me all winter long.

Air Conditioning used to work very well but the front seal on the compressor leaked out all the charge so it would need a new compressor to have working AC. Since up until this year the truck was solely my winter driver I didn't care about having working AC.

The truck runs and drives good, and is very dependable as previously stated. In my opinion it rides rather stiff as a truck should. At the moment there is nothing that HAS to be done to drive it routinely as I am currently doing so daily and did all winter long, and all the winters prior. However as stated it could use an alignment since the new pitman arm so you don't destroy those expensive tires, and the exhaust pipe at the muffler rotted out and dropped and I have only tacked it back into place for now so it has a "tone" to it but is not overly noisy by any means. Most likely I will take care of this prior to the sale anyhow.

After Thoughts. There is a small chip on the passenger side of the windshield. The truck also has a working BullDog Remote Starter. Truck has a 3.42 gear ratio.

I have gobs more pictures than eBay allows me to post here, and much more history/info I could add so message me with any direct concerns or questions for things I may have missed or you would like cleared up. Also feel free to come and look at it in person. I plan on having the truck sitting across from the Midway Market on M-21 just east of M-13 in Lennon over the Holiday weekend but call to be sure. To view, or discuss it other than when it's out there call; 989-525-three two five six

Next Corvette ZR1 to get 700 horsepower?

Tue, 19 Feb 2013

Word has it General Motors may offer as much as 700 horsepower in the C7 Corvette ZR1. Motor Trend reports the next Corvette Z06 will continue to rely on its naturally aspirated 7.0-liter V8 engine for thrust, but the lump will deliver substantially more power. How much more? MT says the engine could deliver up to 600 ponies. That's a jump of 95 horsepower over the current Z06, though no figures have been finalized as of yet. Right now, GM is reportedly waiting to see what sort of grunt it can glean from the next ZR1.
The automaker has already made it clear it will resurrect the LT5 name for the new supercharged V8, and if GM is already pulling 600 from the Z06, the big dog ZR1 would theoretically offer 700 horsepower. Either way, the range-topping Corvette will be suitably insulated from its less potent siblings. Stay tuned. We aren't likely to see the Z06 for at least a year, with the ZR1 trailing along at some point there after.

2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra debut all-new designs, three new engines

Thu, 13 Dec 2012

General Motors has finally dropped the curtain on the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and 2014 GMC Sierra. Both trucks have undergone substantial revisions with updated versions of the company's 4.3-liter V6, 5.3-liter V8 and 6.2-liter V8 engines. In a shot across the bows of both Ford and Chrysler, GM says it won't use a V6 engine adapted from passenger car applications. Instead, it developed the 4.3-liter engine based on its proven truck-duty architecture.
All three mills will boast direct injection fuel systems as well as a new cylinder head design. Combined with a revised piston, the new engines feature a smaller combustion chamber with a compression ratio of 11:1 or higher depending on the application. Cylinder deactivation and continuously variable valve timing are all part of the recipe, and each engine is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission with auto grade breaking. So far, no fuel economy or horsepower figures have been released, though GM says the new engines will best their predecessors in both areas.
Outside, the trucks feature a number of enhancements to reduce drag and wind noise, and GM claims both the Silverado and Sierra will offer buyers some of the quietest cabins in the class. Extended cab models now feature front-hinged rear doors to allow easier access to the back passenger area, and Crew Cab buyers can now select between a five-foot, eight-inch bed or a six-foot, six-inch bed. Buyers with a mind toward going off road will also rejoice in the return of the Z71 package, complete with Rancho shocks, front tow hooks and additional under-body protection.

24 Hours of Le Mans live update part three

Sun, Jun 19 2016

We tasked surfing journalist Rory Parker to watch this year's live stream of the 2016 24 Hours of Le Mans. What follows is an experiment to experience the world's greatest endurance race from the perspective of a motorsports novice. Parker lives in Hawaii and has an associates degree in dropping f-bombs. For Part One, click here. Part Two is here. Really hoped I'd be able to grab an hour or two of sleep before the sun rose over Le Mans. Dark dark dark, couldn't figure out what was going on. Commentators struggled at times as well. But I couldn't do it. Endurance racing is just too exciting. Grabs my attention with both fists. Screams, "watch these men DRIVE!" A neighbor invited me over for drinks. Told him, "Can't do it, gotta watch Le Mans!" Maybe not exactly. I'll admit, at times my attention wandered. I did a load of laundry. Ate some snacks. Half listened to the commentary. Threw a hump at my wife. I learned that Patrick Long, driving #88, is big brother to Kevin "Spanky" Long. Spanky's a bit of a legend in the skate world. Always weird how top notch talent can run in families like that. Kind of surprised I've never heard that before. Worked for a skate mag for a years, met Spanky a handful of times. Someone must've told me that he has an older brother who drives race cars. Dash cams at night are scary. High powered headlights in the P1s reach almost 300 meters. Cars outrun that distance easy. Seems like they're just steering into the black and hoping for the best. But that can't be the case. People'd be dropping dead let and right. Very amused by how the guys in GT are like, "Dude, stop flashing your fucking lights before you pass." But the LMP's are all, "Suck a dick! I do what I want." Top three stayed neck and neck nearly all night long. As the sun gets ready to creep back over the horizon the top three are separated by only eleven and a half seconds. Toyota 5 and 6, Porsche 2. Audi 8 is two laps behind Porsche, beleaguered 7 is dealing with constant trouble eleven laps from the front. GTE Pro sees Ferrari 82 in first, Ford 68 and 69 right behind. To win you've gotta drive perfect, build perfect. Fours cars retired so far. I'm beginning to appreciate the endurance aspect a little more fully. Only really considered the drivers at first. The mental and physical stress driving these cars at these speeds at length would inflict. But keeping the damn things running is the real deal. To win you've gotta drive perfect, build perfect.
