1960 Chevy Apache C-10 custom low-rider/dropped truck, hot rod

Selling my 1960 Apache truck that I have been working on and need to sell.  This is one of the coolest trucks around and looks awesome in the sunlight.  The truck was painted 5 years ago using House of Kolor Candy Apple Red with a Silver base coat.  I cannot locate the color code(s) but will keep looking for them.  Overall the paint is in great shape.  I did put another coat of wax on in before it went into winter storage, but there are a few nicks in the paint (pictured) from hitting curbs when being lowered.

Truck has a Chevy 350 with 350 turbo tranny, new Edelbrok carb, new exhaust with dual pipes out the rear (sounds awesome).  New hydraulic tanks, valves and hoses that drop this truck down to within a few inches of the ground.  Both front and rear can raise/drop independently.  Marine grade batteries allow for plenty of juice to handle the load of the actuators.  Smoothie style Chevy hubcaps with beauty rings.  Tilt wheel.  Drum brakes all around.  I do not have the bed secured to the truck as I just put it back on for these pictures.  It is secure enough to transport the truck on a trailer after the sale.

This truck came from Nevada and has very little rust, bondo or other issues with the body and is structurally sound.  You can’t find trucks like this with this much work done for this price.

The trucks runs.  It was upgraded to a 12v system a few years back, but I have a brand new wiring harness that will be included.  I was planning on re-wiring myself but never got the time to do it this past winter.  These trucks are easy to rewire and should not take too long to do.  Interior is in great shape and has a 2-tone bench seat and other items listed below.  Gauges work but some of the light bulbs for the cluster are burned out and need replaced in order to see them at night.  Cigarette lighter, wipers, headlights (including hi-beams) and tail lights work.  I have videos of the truck running, with lights on and raising/lowering of the suspension that I will email to anyone interested.

A few of the things that I wanted to mention in full disclosure:  Truck will need a drive shaft.  I did have the truck on the road last year but noticed the drive shaft needed replaced and parked it before winter hit to work on it.  The suspension will need finished and secured to the frame.  Small tranny leak from sitting around, but should be an easy fix.  Bed needs permanently mounted to the truck (we just placed it on for these pics).  Speedo works but occasionally hangs up for whatever reason for a mile or two then works again. Engine will need the choke connected. Rear bumper brackets and bumper will need to be installed since I never did that.  The front bumper is mounted already.  If I think of anything else I missed, I will update the listing.

This truck just need finished and it will be an awesome ride for someone looking for that classic low California truck look.  All of the hard work is done.  It does have its rattles and noises, but they all do.  This is not a new truck and will not drive like a new Silverado, please be aware that you are buying a custom truck.  I have a clear PA title in hand.  I will include anything and everything that I have for this truck to the new owner.

The NEW parts that I put on the truck include……NEW interior chrome (door handles, vent window locks rear view mirror, rear view mirror bracket, sun visors, sun visor brackets, tail lights, new dash knobs, door panel inserts, chrome cab light, tail lights, tail light rubbers, clear running lights, bezels, bulbs, wiper arms, chrome cowl pcs, chrome door handles, chrome tailgate hardware and chains, chrome fuel cap, fuel neck rubber.  Chrome bumpers and new bumper brackets are included.  Basically, anything chrome has been replaced within the last 6 months.

The NEW parts that still need to be put on by the new owner include: 16-circuit electrical harness, 16” Coker 3” wide white tires (still wrapped in plastic), rear bumper brackets, all door seals/rubbers.  Seat belts.  I am sure I am missing other items that are included, but let me know if you have any questions and I will get you all of the info I can give.

I can help coordinate the shipping of this truck but all fees and shipping charges are the responsibility of the new owner.  I am not interested in any trades.  No warranty.  Feel free to ask any questions prior to bidding as this is a legal binding agreement to purchase this truck.  I will do my best to answer any and all questions that you may have, so ask away if you need clarification on anything prior to bidding.  BIDDERS WITH ZERO FEEDBACK MUST CONTACT ME BEFORE BIDDING OR I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO CANCEL THE BID.  Low reserve and buy it now price.

$500.00 deposit due within 48 hours of auction end.  Full payment due within 5 days of auction end.

GMC Envoy could be returning as GM files for 'Envoy' trademark

Thu, Dec 27 2018

The GMC Envoy could be on its way back, if a recent GM trademark filing is any indication of the future. To be exact, GM's trademark filing is for the name "Envoy," and is applicable to "motor vehicles, namely, sport utility vehicles, engines therefor and structural parts thereof." A victim of the recession and high gas prices, the original Envoy – related to the Blazer, and more recently the TrailBlazer and similar GM SUVs – was discontinued after the 2009 model year. In today's SUV-happy market of low gas prices, unearthing the somewhat familiar Envoy name makes a certain amount of sense. As soon as gas prices start trending in the other direction, we'll all be saying the opposite, though. What this SUV will take shape as is the big question now. With the Chevrolet Blazer well and truly on its way, there's every reason for a GMC version of Chevy's stylish new crossover sporting the Envoy name. Another, less likely, possibility is a Traverse-sized vehicle to slot between the shorter Acadia (10 inches shorter than the Chevy Traverse) and the body-on-frame Yukon. GM could come out of left field and make the Envoy a Buick too. It fits the bill with the "En" beginning, and Buick undoubtedly has crossovers in the works. We think that's even more unlikely, but it's important to remember that we're still in the speculation phase. Soon we'll drive Chevy's new Blazer, and perhaps have more news then. Check in next week for that. Related video:

Detroit Three's lucrative pickup war intensifies as Ram makes big gains

Thu, Jan 3 2019

DETROIT — The battle for profits from sales of large pickup trucks is intensifying among the Detroit Three automakers as sales of small cars in the United States shrivel. For decades Ford has had the single best-selling truck brand in its F-Series trucks. General Motors' Chevrolet brand was a solid No. 2, and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles' Ram was a distant third. Now, that hierarchy may be in flux. Sales figures for December and the fourth quarter released on Thursday show Ram tied with GM's Chevy for the No. 2 spot, as sales of the redesigned Ram pickup surged, fueled in part by demand for an optional 12-inch (30.48 cm) dashboard screen. Chevy not long ago held second place to Ford by a wide margin. GM executives said on Thursday they are bullish on their new GMC and Chevy trucks for 2019.Related: How the Detroit Three's pickups compare on paper 2019 Ram 1500 Laramie review 2019 Chevy Silverado 2.7L four-cylinder review 2019 Ford F-150 2.7L EcoBoost review "There's no doubt this segment (pickup trucks) is one of the epicenters of the auto wars," said Sandor Piszar, director of marketing for Chevrolet at GM. "It's been that way forever, and we wouldn't have it any other way." On Wall Street, investors give electric car leader Tesla a higher valuation than any of the Detroit automakers. But in the nation's heartland, big pickups remain far more popular and profitable than any electric car — and most other consumer vehicles of any kind. Large pickups generate at least $17,000 a vehicle in pretax profit for GM, the company has indicated in disclosures to investors. By contrast, many Detroit Three sedans are so unprofitable, their manufacturers have decided not to build them anymore. 'Hotly contested' Sustaining sales and pricing in the large-pickup segment will be critical in a year when most forecasters expect overall U.S. car and light truck sales to fall. Ford's U.S. sales chief, Mark LaNeve, on Thursday called the F Series "the backbone of our franchise" during a conference call, and added the "segment will continue to be strong, but hotly contested" in 2019. Automakers are banking on pickup truck sales to stay strong even if U.S. interest rates continue to rise. Rising interest rates translate into higher monthly car payments and are expected to deter some buyers in 2019. GM has said 27 percent of Chevrolet and GMC trucks — which can haul trailers by day and substitute for a luxury sedan by night — sell for more than $55,000.

Hot Wheels' Twitter-enabled vending machine coughs up free Camaro diecasts

Wed, 27 Feb 2013

There are still plenty of companies that haven't gotten the whole social media thing down pat yet, but Hot Wheels isn't one of them. During the recent Canadian International Auto Show in Toronto, Hot Wheels created a lot of buzz for itself by using a vending machine filled with Chevrolet Camaro models, but instead of money to get the cars, show attendees just had to use Twitter.
To get the free car, people were asked to send a tweet to Hot Wheels Canada saying what they liked about the new Hot Wheels Edition Camaro, and including the #ChevyCIAS hashtag. This seemed to be a popular marketing tool, too, as AdWeek reports that the @HotWheelsCanada account more than tripled in followers during the course of the 10-day show. Looking ahead, this could open up even more innovative marketing possibilities using social media.
Check out the video posted below to watch how it works, and while the auto show has ended and the free-car giveaway has too, we're almost certain that some of the 1,500 freebies will make their way onto eBay.
