NO RESERVE!!! 1966 Chevy Nova 4 Door with a body on restoration. Yes it is a restored starting life as an original 283 V8 4 door. The car originally started its life as a 283 Automatic with the upper trim package for a Chevy 2. I purchased the car mostly restored needing some minor assembly and detail work. The car has a very nice repaint to its original Willow Green. The 350 is a 71 dated motor with a rebuild mated up to a 86 4 speed removed from an 86 Camaro. This Nova runs and drives great. It makes a great beach surf cruiser. Has 15x7 rally wheels with original center caps and new rings. The tires are NEW BF Goodrich 225 front and 245 rear 60 15's. This Nova has new suspension bushings, Shocks, Performance exhaust, Interior (original uncracked dash pad), Paint, Rebuilt Motor (Modern Distributor ignition system) and trans, New brakes and brake lines, New tinted windshield and gasket, LED Headlights with daytime led lights, All new locks keyed alike including the glove box door, Tach and Guage package, Corvett Steering Wheel with Leather wrap. Car has approximately 500 miles on her since she was finished. Everything works with the exception of AM Radio, Horn works but not hooked up with the Corvette steering wheel, Speedometer, cable is included but not installed, Windshield wiper blades are included but not installed (I prefer the no wiper arm look). Wiper switch works in both positions. The windshield washer hoses are not hooked up in the engine compartment. Detailed trunk. Body: This Nova has all its original sheet metal except the front LH fender appears to have been replaced at some point. All doors and trunk open and shut smoothly. The windows all roll up and down smoothly. It is solid in the back and trunk. Lower quarters and rockers are original and in great condition with no rust. It has a very solid engine compartment all the way back to the cowl. No rust around the cowl or windows. The inside where the front door hinges are is is a typical rust area but there is no rust at all. The inside of the doors and door openings to the body were not re painted and are original paint. No rust showing at all. showing some rust. The underside of the trunk lid is original paint solid as well. No rust in the seams at all. The body is not saging and all doors line up nicely. The doors are solid with no rust in the seams at all. The grille is nice and the trim is in good overall shape. Bumpers have nice chrome with a few dings and 1 dent in rear LH side of Bumper. This was the next thing I was going to do. Either have these rechromed or buy a new pair. All trim comes on or with the car. The lower rocker and side trim is off the car. I painted the bottom black and used a tape stripe in place of putting the original pieces back on. I like this look better. The trim pieces are in nice original condition with normal wear and come with the car. Interior and Compartment: The interior is Completely redone. The seats recovered in with cloth inserts. There is a new headliner. The carpet is new and done in black. Looks great. New Door panels and arm rests. The front door handles were reversed, so opening the door is down instead of up. All dash lights and guages work except the speedometer is not hooked up. Cable included. The dome light comes on and turns on with the headlight switch. Even the cigarette lighter works. Heater and fan switches work great. Heater works excellent. The kick panel vents operate properly. The only area that could uses a little better attention is the windlace that goes around the interior door frames. I was going to replace it with new windlace. it is very inexpensive and would make for e a nicer detail. The e Brake works. I have a new handle to install. I also ordered a new set of Visors and visor brackets as the originals did not come with the car. They will be installed before the car is sold. The steering wheel is off a 69 Corvette and has been covered with a leather wrap. The seat belts are aftermarket. The fronts are shoulder harneses but I have not hooked up the shoulder belt yet. I will leave that to the new owner to decide it they want to or not. Trunk: The trunk is in great condition with no rust. It has the original jack assembly. There is a spare but not sure if the wheel is original or not. Underside: The subframe, front inner fenders, rear wheel wells and trunk area are solid with no rust at all. As well as the subframe rails. It looks like the rear may have an undercoating spryed on at some point. New suspension bushings and shocks. Engine: Runs strong with no noises. No leaks. YES NO leaks. Rare for a Chevy 350. It sounds like it may have a very mild cam. The intake is an Edlebrock and the carb is an Edlebrock as well with an electric choke. The choke is not working and maybe not hooked up. I haven't messed with it as the car starts easy and idles smooth when cold and warm. The radiator is a date coded Harrison out of a 66 327 Nova. It is a 4 core. The top has a dent on it from when I had it shipped to me. It works fine and can be easily fixed by a radiator shop if desired. Has a great sounding performance exhaust new from exhaust manifolds to rear exit. There are provisions at the front of the pipes to uncork the exhaust is desired. Also new Battery and Cables. Trans: This is a 4 speed out of an 86 Camaro. Shifts great and the clutch is solid. The hump was added as this was originally a column shif automatic. The pedals are out of an original manual trans 66 Nova. The shifter is a 442 handle. The handle is close to the seat and hits when in 4th gear but works fine. This shifter is probably woth a lot of money. I was going to sell it and add a shift handle thet sat mor forward. Your choice. I will be more than happy to show the Nova or take some more pictures of specific areas if needed. Watch My listings as there will be 73-74 Chevy Truck Parts and more 70-71 Cuda Parts coming soon. The future's electric — but the present is peak gasoline. Burn some rubber! Do donuts!
Wed, Jun 23 2021I vividly remember the year 1993 as a teenager looking forward to getting my driver’s license, longingly staring into Pontiac dealerships at every opportunity for a chance to see the brand-new fourth-generation Firebird and Trans Am. Back then, 275 horsepower, courtesy of GMÂ’s LT1 5.7-liter V8 engine, was breathtaking. A few years later, when Ram Air induction systems freed up enough fresh air to boost power over 300 ponies, I figured we were right back where my fatherÂ’s generation left off when the seminal muscle car era ended around the year 1974. It couldn't get any better than that. I was wrong. Horsepower continued climbing, prices remained within reach of the average new-car buyer looking for cheap performance, and a whole new level of muscular magnitude continued widening eyes of automotive enthusiasts all across the United States. It was all ushered in by cheap gasoline prices. And as much as petrolheads bemoan the coming wave of electric vehicles, perhaps instead now would be a good time for critics to sit back and enjoy the current and likely final wave of internal combustion. Today, itÂ’s easier than ever to park an overpowered rear-wheel-drive super coupe or sedan in your driveway. Your nearest Chevy dealership will happily sell you a Camaro with as much as 650 horsepower. Not enough? Take a gander at the Ford showroom and youÂ’ll find a herd of Mustangs up to 760 ponies. Or if nothing but the most powerful will do, waltz on over to the truly combustion-obsessed sales team of a Dodge dealer and relish in the glory of a 797-hp Charger or 807-hp Challenger. Want some more luxury to go with your overgrown stable of horses? Try Cadillac, where you'll find a 668-horsepower CT5-V Blackwing. You could instead choose to wrap that huffin' and chuggin' V8 in an SUV. Or go really off the rails and buy a Ram TRX or Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 and hit the dunes after a quick stop at the drag strip. Go pump some gas. Burn a little rubber. Do donuts! There is nothing but your pocketbook keeping you from buying the V8-powered car of your dreams. Yes, just about every major automaker in the world has halted development of future internal combustion engines in favor of gaining expertise in batteries and electric motors. No, that doesnÂ’t mean that gasoline is going extinct. There are going to be gas stations dotting American cities and highways for the rest of our lifetimes.
GMC Envoy could be returning as GM files for 'Envoy' trademark
Thu, Dec 27 2018The GMC Envoy could be on its way back, if a recent GM trademark filing is any indication of the future. To be exact, GM's trademark filing is for the name "Envoy," and is applicable to "motor vehicles, namely, sport utility vehicles, engines therefor and structural parts thereof." A victim of the recession and high gas prices, the original Envoy – related to the Blazer, and more recently the TrailBlazer and similar GM SUVs – was discontinued after the 2009 model year. In today's SUV-happy market of low gas prices, unearthing the somewhat familiar Envoy name makes a certain amount of sense. As soon as gas prices start trending in the other direction, we'll all be saying the opposite, though. What this SUV will take shape as is the big question now. With the Chevrolet Blazer well and truly on its way, there's every reason for a GMC version of Chevy's stylish new crossover sporting the Envoy name. Another, less likely, possibility is a Traverse-sized vehicle to slot between the shorter Acadia (10 inches shorter than the Chevy Traverse) and the body-on-frame Yukon. GM could come out of left field and make the Envoy a Buick too. It fits the bill with the "En" beginning, and Buick undoubtedly has crossovers in the works. We think that's even more unlikely, but it's important to remember that we're still in the speculation phase. Soon we'll drive Chevy's new Blazer, and perhaps have more news then. Check in next week for that. Related video:
National Corvette Museum to recreate sinkhole experience for patrons [UPDATE]
Sun, May 10 2015UPDATE: The Thunderdome at the National Corvette Museum is not a ride; instead it's an experience that mixes digital graphics and thundering sound. For a brief period, it looked like the National Corvette Museum was going to preserve that sinkhole that ate eight important 'Vettes last year. After all, tourism boomed there afterwards. However, keeping the crater would have been more expensive than just doing the repairs. The museum isn't ready to let people completely forget, though, and now intends to make a major attraction out of a recreated version of the calamity. The museum's plan turns the sinkhole disaster into an amusement park ride called the Thunderdome, according to GM Authority. In a smaller recreation of the Skydome, 15 people at a time would get to watch an imitation of the sinkhole devouring the eight Corvettes. To make the experience even more immersive, visitors would get to view this all from an artificial, underground cave. If you missed seeing the actual pit, this would certainly be a bizarre way to experience it. According to GM Authority, the exhibit would also include an explanation of how sinkholes occur. The Corvette museum reportedly wants the attraction open by this fall.
