Up for bid is this 1965 Nova Gasser!  I bought this in 2012 from a guy who brought it up from Tennessee. It was basically a roller and completely tore apart.  I had a guy build a perimeter frame for the front with down bars and chrome molly heim ends. A Speedway Motors engine mount. Vega steering box from Northern Rod & Custom. A complete straight axle kit from Speedway Motors with disc brake kit and steering arms. I added Competition Engineering sub-frame connectors fully welded in and tied the six point roll cage into the sub-frame connectors. I then had a 9-inch Ford rear end from a Bronco shortened by Babbitt Bearing in Columbus with Mosier 31-spline axles and new drum brakes complete. A 411 center section with Richmond gears and a trac loc posi. Drive shaft by PST. TCI 2-speed powerglide with a trans brake and a 4500 stall torque converter from TSI. 383 Stroker motor. Eagle rods and crank. Probe forged pistons. Balanced rotating assembly. Lanati hydraulic bracket master II cam, lifters, roller rockers. 202 cast iron heads. Edelbrock intake. Holley 750 carb. Long block by Wasserbeck Speed Shop. Hooker fender well headers, ceramic coated black. Aluminum radiator. Electric fan. High torque mini starter. EZ wiring kit. Black cherry flow monster header mufflers. Aluminum transmission cooler. Complete MSD ignition system. 6 AL box distributor coil wires. Mr Roadster steering column. JAZ low back racing seats. G-Force seat belts. Hurst shifter and line lock. Gold metal flake tuck and roll back panel and package tray. New windshield with rubber molding. New rubber molding on back window. New door and trunk seals. All exterior lettering is old school free hand. 15 x 4 Firestone Cragar SS mags with F560 radials on front and 15 x 7 Firestone Cragar SS mags with L-60 M&H Racemaster street slicks. Long wheel studs on front and back. Car weighs approximately 2,625 without driver. This is essentially a new build. Everything is either new or rebuilt. Clear Ohio title. Runs, drives and steers like a dream! Good times on the Street or Strip! All turn signals, brake lights, headlights are functional. All parts and work receipts documented and accounted for. Any questions call (740) 501-1829 -- 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. EST. Selling this to finance my next project.  Not interested in any trades unless you have a 41 Willy's project. Thank you!

GM recalls nearly 340,000 large SUVs to fix daytime running lights

Thu, Nov 10 2022

General Motors has initiated a recall campaign for more than 338,000 of its large SUVs to address a potential defect in the onboard computer software that controls the daytime running lights. In some cases, the DRLs may remain on even when the headlights are enabled, which creates additional glare for oncoming drivers at night and fails to comply with federal regulations for headlight performance.  "GM determined that the body control module (BCM) software in these vehicles, under a combination of certain pre-conditions, may fail to deactivate the DRLs when the headlamps are on," GM's recall report said. "A regulatory assessment was conducted to evaluate whether the condition presented a potential noncompliance with the DRL activation requirements in S7.10.5, Table I-a. of FMVSS 108. On October 27, 2022, GM’s Safety Field Action Decision Authority (SFADA) decided to conduct a recall for potential noncompliance with this standard." GM says the recall covers the 2021 model year GMC Yukon and Yukon XL, 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban, and 2021 Cadillac Escalade and Escalade ESV. The company says all models produced within that operating window include the improperly programmed body control module, meaning all vehicles within the recall population may exhibit the problem. The issue was discovered by a GM engineer during validation testing in August, prompting a deeper investigation and eventually leading to the recall itself.   The module's software can be updated by GM dealers, so it should be a quick fix for customers. Notifications will be mailed to owners in December.  Related video: Recalls Cadillac Chevrolet GMC Ownership Safety SUV Luxury

2022 Chevy Tahoe, Suburban and GMC Yukon get updated transmission

Sat, Dec 25 2021

General Motors' full-sized SUVs have slipped in one more change before the year turns. GM Authority reports that the 2022 Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban, and the 2022 GMC Yukon and Yukon XL equipped with gas V8 engines, will pick up a revised ten-speed automatic transmission. The new unit carries RPO code MHS, and Chevrolet communications rep Catherine Scales told GMA the updated gearbox "allows our manufacturing and dealer teams to more easily align the specific calibration needed for the transmission and can enable OTA updates in the future." It seems GM wants to make it easier to update the transmission's tuning and calibration in the future with the automaker's networked Vehicle Intelligence Platform/Global B electronic architecture. The 10-speed auto comes bolted to the 5.3-liter V8 and the 6.2-liter V8. The 3.0-liter inline-six Duramax diesel continues with the 10-speed automatic already in use. To recap the other changes for the full-sizers, we'll start with the 2022 Tahoe and Suburban, which get a new 12.3-inch digital instrument display to replace the former 8-inch unit and physical gauges. Navigation will be standard equipment displayed on the 10.2-inch infotainment touchscreen on all trims barring the base LS. Lane-keeping assist and parking sensors are also now standard, while reverse automatic braking is added to the Enhanced Display and Alert package on the top trims. Finally, the 6.2-liter V8 option is expanded to the Z71, RST and Premier trim levels, but it requires selecting one or more packages on the Z71 and RST. Moving onto the 2022 Yukon, availability of the 6.2-liter V8 expands to the AT4 trim, and the big V8 comes with a shiny pair of exhaust finishers. Redwood Metallic paint joins the exterior color palette, more wheel options are on offer, and illuminated sill plates can gussy up the rocker panels . An Enhanced Trailering Technology Package adds 13 cameras with the option for an interior accessory camera for those with enclosed haulers. On the safety side, expect reverse automatic braking to join the list of available driver assistance features. Inside, the Yukon welcomes the 12.3-inch digital cluster, the Yukon Denali welcomes the power sliding console as a standard feature instead of a $350 option.  Related Video:

Peter Max staring down $1M lawsuit over Corvette collection sale

Wed, Dec 17 2014

Pop artist Peter Max recently sold off his collection of 36 vintage Chevrolet Corvettes – one each from 1953 to 1989 – for an undisclosed amount. The new owners have already announced plans to restore some of them and auction the models off sometime soon. Up until then, the sports cars had been languishing in various garages around New York City for decades and were caked in dust and grime. However, Max's end of the transaction has just become more complicated, because two men are suing the artist claiming he employed them to complete the deal first. The men allege that Max hired them to broker the sale of the 36 Corvettes in exchange for a 10-percent commission, according to the New York Post. They claim to have emails and text messages proving the existence of the deal, and are taking Max to court for $1 million over the squabble. The collection of Corvettes was amassed in 1989 as part of a prize package from the television network VH1, and Max bought the cars from the winner intending on using them for an art project. He never got around to it, though, and parked the sports cars around New York, until he finally sold them over the summer.
