Up for sale is an absolutely stunning 1984 Chevy Monte Carlo SS – PRO STREET. This BEAST is a complete frame off custom build which has been 10+ years in the making. The owner has invested over $100K in parts alone, not including the 100’s of labor hours that he spent on the build himself. The meticulous detail that went into this build is what really sets it apart from other “PRO STREET” cars out there today. All the receipts and literature for the installed parts and accessories are available and will be passed onto the buyer. The interior was completely reupholstered floor to ceiling with beautiful blue fabric. Even the rear seat was custom cut and re-installed which is typically not seen on a tubbed car. It has a “Dakota” digital dash that looks like it belongs there from the factory. It gives you a clear view of MPH, RPM’s, fuel percentage, and water temperature. The Hurst shifter is surrounded by a hand-made chromed aluminum console and has a custom made dual switch shift handle for line lock and over drive. The steering wheel is made by “Banjo” and is removable which is a good anti-theft feature. The exterior white paint is flawless and boasts beautiful hand painted decals that really accent nicely the theme of the car. This Monte rides on polished aluminum “Centerline” wheels wrapped in Micky Thompson rubber. It has front 12” and rear 13” disc brakes (with Emergency Brake) for superior stopping ability. This Monte truly rides like a Cadillac with its full front and rear “Hotchkis” suspension and “Strange” axles. Finally, to get into the good stuff. The car is powered by a 502 cubic inch big block crate engine. The heads were ported to match the polished aluminum “Stealth” intake manifold. It has a turbo 350 transmission built for 1000 HP. The transmission has “Gear Venders” for over and under drive to make it a full manual 6-speed. It has a bullet proof 9” rear with 4.11 gear ratio. Nascar radiator with twin fans. Hooker headers with a custom made full stainless steel 3” exhaust. Handmade stainless steel gas tank. Custom made carburetor intake which pulls extra air off the cowl. There’s a A/C idle solenoid to kick up RPM’s when the air conditioner is on. 120 AMP, 1 wire alternator. The battery shuts off with the key. Call, Text or Email Ryan Fallon - 267.228.8150 – Ryanfallon2@gmail.com There are so many custom parts on this Monte that it is nearly impossible to remember them all let alone list them all so I just mentioned a few. The engine dyno-ed out at 605 HP @ 6500 RPM. This car was built for show, not for racing however you could make a few modifications to make it track worthy (roll cage and parachute.) But that would really take from the cars integrity. This Monte Carlo is truly a “Hot Rod Family Car.” It has less than 150 miles on it since it was complete and it has never been raced. It has been entered into many local car shows where it has won award such as “best in show” and “best motor.” Polished aluminum and stainless steel. Almost every bolt under the hood that could be has a Chevy insignia bolt head. It runs on pump gas (93 octane) but will certainly take racing fuel. The car has been garage kept since the build began and has never seen the rain. A little about the owner/builder… This multiple award winning show stopper is owned by and was built by master mechanic Joe “Slim” Ulanowski. He has been building custom/race cars for well over 40 years and his garage Academy Automotive which is located in Northeast Philadelphia has been open since 1976. He has built and restored numerous award winning vehicles in his career. Slim and Academy Automotive are proud sponsors of the wounded warrior project in which “Slim” had his hand in the building of the Wounded Warrior Projects 1969 Chevy Camaro SS. Please contact Ryan Fallon with any questions you may have or if you would like to schedule an appointment to see the car. I have taken well over 100 pictures which I will gladly send you if you provide your email address. Third party inspections are welcome! A $500 deposit via paypal will be required within 48 hours of auction closing. Payment for vehicle will be made either by cash in person, cashiers or personal check (vehicle will not leave until check clears sellers account) or bank transfer (preferred.) Buyer is responsible for pickup/transportation of the vehicle after funds have cleared sellers account. Call, Text or Email Ryan Fallon - 267.228.8150 – Ryanfallon2@gmail.com |

Weekly Recap: Volvo buys Polestar, makes performance a priority
Sat, Jul 18 2015Volvo is taking its performance business in-house, and the Swedish carmaker announced Tuesday that it bought tuning company Polestar, which has long been known for producing sporty Volvos. The move allows Volvo to ramp up its performance business, and it plans to increase Polestar-branded vehicle sales to 1,000 to 1,500 annually, up from the 750 total projected for this year. The companies have been working together on motorsports projects since 1996. Financial terms of the sale were not released, and Polestar workers will move over to Volvo. Former Polestar owner Christian Dahl will keep control of the Polestar racing team and operate it under a new name. In addition to sales volume, Volvo has ambitious plans for other parts of Polestar, including its aftermarket business. Volvo also said it will use its twin-engine hybrid technology for Polestar models in the future, though specifics and timing were not revealed. Meanwhile, Volvo announced it will offer a run of 265 total Polestars in the United States for the 2016 model year, with S60 and V60s available. "Driving a Volvo Polestar is a special experience. We have decided to bring this experience to more Volvo drivers, placing the full resources of Volvo behind the development of Polestar as the model name for our high performance cars," Volvo CEO Hakan Samuelsson said in a statement. OTHER NEWS & NOTES 2016 Chevy Silverado, GMC Sierra, get nose jobs Automakers tend to refer to light updates as 'facelifts,' and that's exactly what Chevy gave the 2016 Silverado and GMC Sierra. Chevy slightly changed the front end of the truck. Using the one photo released of the new Z71 model as a guide, we can see that the headlights went from a stacked vertical design to single bulbs, and they are set on top of LED running lights. The grille has more body-colored elements instead of shiny metal, and the hood has a new line running down the middle (look really closely). The design theme will be similar across the portfolio, though materials and details will vary, a spokesman said. Some models, like the High Country and LTZ will have more chrome, and the LEDs are only for the upper trims. Chevy also said it will use the eight-speed automatic transmission on more versions of the Silverado, and it updated the MyLink feature to support Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
GM again delays plant that will build the Silverado EV
Tue, Jul 23 2024 General Motors Co. will again push back the planned opening of an electric pickup truck plant in suburban Detroit and has delayed a Buick plug-in amid uncertain growth in battery-powered car sales. Mary Barra, the company’s chief executive officer, told analysts Tuesday on an earnings conference call the automaker is postponing until mid-2026 the opening of its Orion Assembly factory, which will make the Chevrolet Silverado EV. This is the second delay for the plant, which was originally slated to start production in late 2024. Shares of the automaker fell 4.1% to $47.52 as of 9:39 a.m. in New York. The stock is up about 32% so far this year. The delay is a main reason why GM wonÂ’t be able to meet its previous goal of having production in place to make 1 million EVs by the end of next year. The company said they will add production as buyers show more interest in electric vehicles. “We continue to make sure we continue to scale the business to customers and where they are at,” GM Chief Financial Officer Paul Jacobson said on a call with reporters. GM reported on Tuesday a 60% jump in second quarter profit compared with a year ago, topping Wall StreetÂ’s expectations on strong demand for its traditional gas-powered trucks in the US market.
Is this '47 Chevrolet a rat rod or a sports car?
Sun, May 22 2016These days there are plenty of vehicles that blur the conventional automotive class structures. For instance, was the Honda Crosstour a wagon or an SUV? And what exactly was the Nissan Murano CrossCabriolet? Regardless, those line-blurring cars (or trucks) are out there, and though this one didn't roll off a production line, it's still quite the automotive head-scratcher. Hailing from Missouri, this epic creation is one part mad science experiment, one part 1947 Chevrolet pickup, and one part '95 Mercury Cougar. Add it all up and you get an awesome truck-sports-car hybrid, complete with an outrageous wing and a V8 to boot. And interestingly enough, it's up for sale . RELATED: Check out this Wild-Styled Lamborghini Rat Rod So how does it all come together? According to the listing, the Chevrolet truck cab (which had previously been chopped) was sanded down to bare metal and given a thorough shellacking of clear coat. It was then melded together with the front end of a 1995 Chevrolet S10 pickup truck, and set low to the ground on Bilstein suspension drop spindles. Stance achieved. But instead of fielding an engine from either of those pickups, it pulls its heart from a 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe SUV—a big 5.3-liter V8 heart, that is. It comes backed-up to a GM Turbo 400 automatic transmission. Towards the rear however is where things get really interesting. A Copper Pearl coated tube frame chassis both attaches the rear independent suspension (a la Mercury Cougar) to the racy spoiler, as well as secures the rat rod's rear-mounted radiator, fan, and fuel tank. I'm not quite sure why, but it just looks glorious. RELATED: Reports Say Mid-Engine Corvette Will Arrive in 2018 Inside the vintage cab, the Chevrolet furthers its racing proclivities (it's said to have won burnout and auto-cross events) with a pair of harnessed racing seats, a drift brake, a detachable steering wheel, and a tachometer with oil and temperature gauges, but oddly no speedometer. The shifter is a crescent wrench. And its shift boot? That's a Crown Royal Purple bag. All in all, this grin-worthy Frankenstein creation tallies up bits and pieces from four different vehicles (five if you include the Camaro wheels), which make it truly a mash-up of epic proportions.
