1984 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Ss Rolling Chassis Solid Body Chevy G Body on 2040-cars
Yorktown, Virginia, United States

Hello, I am selling a 1984 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS rolling chassis. It has NO engine or transmission. It is also missing front seats and has a cracked windshield. The pictures will show you the body, which is straight and in great shape. There is almost NO rust on the car, I can only find a little on the inside bottom of the doors and on the inside of the trunk lid. It has a sunroof that does not appear to be leaking. The hood has a hood scoop on it that, well, honestly wasn't installed nicely. Take a look
The car has a lot of good things going for it. The body and floors are solid, and the paint looks original to me. This car wasn't molested or used as a parts car. The interior is almost complete, all the desirable stuff is there, center console, door panels, etc. Missing front seats and the carpet is discolored. This is a great car to start a project on. I will post more pictures as soon as I can, any questions please ask Buyer is responsible for pick up or shipping of vehicle. I am located in Yorktown, Virginia 23693. I am more than happy in any way I can to set up a pick up, but I will not schedule shipping for you I will NOT accept Paypal unless buyer agrees to pay the fees associated with Paypal. Checks will have to clear before vehicle is picked up. The mileage on the odometer says 111,900. The title says something like 69k. Due to the age of the vehicle, it is considered to be "beyond it's mechanical limits" regardless of the mileage, so all in all the mileage on the vehicle isn't important. I have 2 1984 Monte Carlos and the DMV put that on both titles due to age. The car is being sold as is, no warranty implied or expressed. Obviously, due to the car not having an engine or transmission I cannot drive it and cannot tell you how anything on it functions. I took pictures of all of the issues on the car that I found, but I am not a mechanic so I cannot guarantee there are not unknown issues. I found this car for sale locally, the owner was looking to part it out. I needed interior parts, door panels, console, etc. When I saw the car and how straight the body was I couldn't let it be another parts car, so I bought the whole thing, unsure of what I'd do with it. Well, I don't really need another project, and I don't wanna part it out, so here it is for sale. I would love to sell it to someone who will use it as a project and restore/rebuild it. I'd hate to see another Monte SS sent to the salvage yard On Jul-27-14 at 12:27:01 PDT, seller added the following information: I will be going out of town on Wednesday the 30th, so I will be away when the auction ends. The car is stored at my friend's shop and he will be able to help with pickup arrangements. PLEASE, if you have 0 feedback, contact me before bidding. I have had too many issues in the past with new ebayers not paying for items. Otherwise, I will cancel your bid |

One of the world's largest muscle car museums is auctioning off its cars
Mon, Jan 11 2021Rick Treworgy's Muscle Car City is one of the biggest collections of high-performance American cars in the world. With over 200 cars of mostly GM makes, it's a mecca for fans of the golden age of Detroit iron. Unfortunately, the museum will be shutting its doors for good on Jan. 17 and auctioning off most of its assets with no reserve. The collection is, to put it bluntly, astounding. Advertised as a combined 65,000-plus horsepower, it occupies a 60,000-square-foot retail space in Punta Gorda, Fla., in a former Walmart store. It make sense when you learn that founder Rick Treworgy made his fortune in the commercial real estate business. As a hobby, he began to amass a truly jaw-dropping collection of muscle cars, filling out a collection that often has every year of a particular model represented, or a grouping of the rarest and highest-performance option packages of that year or model. Often, Treworgy bought placeholders while scouring the country for even rarer versions. It helps that Muscle Car City also houses a showroom where unwanted cars are sold, as well as its own speed shop that stocks plenty of parts. There's even a '50s-style diner called Stingray's Bar and Grill. According to a 2014 episode of Car Crazy, Treworgy has 80 Corvettes alone, more than the actual Corvette Museum. Among them are 20 models from 1967, one of Treworgy's favorites. The rest span the decades from 1954 (he once had a '53 but sold it) to a recently acquired 2020 C8, which, according to The Drive, has only 300 miles on the odometer. You like Impalas? There are models of every year from 1958 to 1969. El Caminos? He's got 'em from 1964 to 1972. Novas? Every year from 1963 to 1970 is represented. Most are the more desirable examples of each breed, with four-speed transmissions, the biggest blocks, and unicorn option packages like a factory 1965 Z16 SS396 Chevelle, one of 200 that were ordered off-menu at Chevy dealerships. And don't even get us started on the Camaros, which include not one, but two COPO 1969s. Treworgy even owns the only known surviving example of a 1936 Chevrolet Phaeton, of which only seven were built. On top of it all, many of these cars are concours quality and have won awards at prestigious car shows. While it's sad to see a collection like this broken up, Treworgy told The Drive that he'd been planning to retire next year anyway. However, the COVID-19 pandemic sped up those plans, greatly reducing the number of visitors to his museum.
Hybrid, Plug-in Hybrid and EV Buyer's Guide: Which one do you want?
Fri, Nov 10 2017If you're shopping for a new vehicle these days, there's a litany of acronyms, buzzwords, and technobabble to further complicate an already difficult decision. But if you're looking at a green powertrain, you have three basic choices to compare: hybrid, plug-in hybrid and "EV" or, electric vehicle. So what are they and which one — if any — is right for you? Research your next new vehicle using Autoblog's Car Finder. Gasoline-Electric Hybrids By now, most people are familiar with the concept of a hybrid car. Thank Toyota's Prius for that. At its most basic, a hybrid vehicle has two powertrains, one gasoline and one electric, which work together for maximum efficiency. At low speeds, the engine can shut off entirely, relying solely on the battery for propulsion. The battery is either charged as you drive by converting kinetic energy into potential energy via a complex regenerative braking system, or directly off of the gas motor. This is a very hands-off, behind-the-scenes system as all the driver has to is put in gas and drive as normal. Hybrids come in all shapes and sizes and, according to the EPA, range in fuel economy from 58 mpg for the Hyundai Ioniq Blue all the way down to 13 mpg for the Ferrari LaFerrari Aperta. Best For: Anyone who want to see their fuel consumption go down without many sacrifices. You can easily find a hybrid sedan, hatchback, crossover, SUV or even a pickup truck (i f you can find one). Best of all, a hybrid requires no special equipment to be installed at home, or added work for the driver. Hybrids do cost more than traditionally-powered competitors, so make sure to compare projected fuel savings with how much extra a hybrid will cost – it may take a surprisingly long time to break even. The EPA provides a handy calculator for this very purpose. Our Favorite Hybrids: 2017 Toyota Prius 2018 Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid 2017 Ford Fusion Hybrid Plug-In Hybrids Sometimes referred to as a PHEV, or plug-in hybrid electric vehicle, this is a baby-step towards full electrification. Armed with a much larger battery pack than a hybrid, PHEVs can go between 12 ( Mercedes-Benz GLE550e) and 97 ( BMW i3 w/Range Extender) miles on electricity alone depending on the model and your driving style. Like a normal hybrid, the driver is largely unaware of which power source is currently in use, even as they switch over — either because the battery is drained, or the driving circumstances require more power.
Chevy Silverado Midnight Edition, Custom ready to stand out in pickup line
Thu, Feb 12 2015Chevrolet spent its Chicago Auto Show introducing a pair of fullsize pickups that promise image-conscious buyers a truck experience that goes beyond the standard range, with the murdered-out Midnight Edition and the um, not murdered-out, Custom. Let's start with the Custom, which adds 20-inch alloys, as well as chrome bumpers, mirror caps and door handles to the Silverado LS. Available in both V6 and V8 varieties, and with the customer's choice of two- or four-wheel drive, the Silverado Custom is the decidedly mellower example of Chevy's special edition styling. The Midnight Edition, meanwhile, throws subtlety out the window with a menacing set of visual upgrades. Based on the Z71, the Midnight adds 18-inch wheels, a spray-in bedliner and unique Z71 and Bowtie badges, all in black, of course. The front and rear bumpers, headlamp bezels, tow hooks, mirror caps and door handles, are also finished in the stealthy shade. Check out our live images of both special edition trucks, and let us know what you think down in Comments.
