Hello up for sale is my rare 1983 convertible Monte which drives and rides like a magic carpet. It has under 73,000 miles. I had bought this car a few years ago from the original owner who had bought it from Bob Fisher Chevrolet which is in Reading Pa. He told me that less than 100 Monte Carlos were sent out by different Chevy dealers to be customized convertibles. The frame has been professionally boxed and channeled. The convertible top is original and needs to be replaced sometime in the future. The original owner paid his friend from boyhood to paint the car at his big shot body shop with Enron paint. Charged him almost 5,000 to do all of the work and 8 months later the paint had started to peel because the car was not prepped correctly. So a lifetime friendship was lost because the owner let his helper do the job that he was supposed to do. Anyway the original owner was sick and just wrapped the car in a tarp like a cocoon and did not touch it. He decided to go another direction with a different classic car. His wife told him one of them had to go,so here I come and I just had to have this rare classic when I saw it and had the car painted again a darker blue that's not perfect but all of the steel is covered, it has a bondo free body. also had the car painted same thing happened to me I don't like the work It comes with a clear Md title, original owners manual, sales receipts, and other papers pertaining to car provided from dealership. Car has ac, cruise control, am fm cassette ,automatic trans, power windows, power locks, power brakes. Car comes with original rally wheels caps and rings tires are 95%. Oil has been changed every 2500 to 3000 miles. Car has never been wrecked or raced adult owned. So here it is a true one of a kind car that's fun to drive cool to be around and always the show stopper. Always gets the thumbs up and even draws crowds to it. A very special automobile!!! Any questions or more info please call Joe @443-309-4627. You are welcome to come and inspect vehicle just call first. As always my auctions are AS IS WHERE IS. Buyer is responsible for pickup. LG Chem's troubled Chevy Volt battery plant hiring once again
Thu, Sep 25 2014The Michigan battery plant known for paying its workers to do nothing has turned things around and is now hiring more workers, specifically to do something. South Korea-based LG Chem, which runs the factory to supply the Chevrolet Volt extended-range plug-in vehicle with its lithium-ion batteries, held a job fair recently to bring on 40 new employees in order to meet higher battery demand, according to WZZM, the ABC affiliate for Grand Rapids, MI. The LG Chem factory is in Holland, MI, about 30 miles west of Grand Rapids, and it made its first batteries last year. Prior to that, though, the factory gained notoriety after a US Department of Energy (DOE) probe found that workers there were getting paid to do, well, nothing. That's because demand for the battery packs was so low that it cost less for the plant to sit idle. The DOE was conducting the probe because of its financial grant to LG Chem. But that was then and today is today. LG Chem is looking to ramp up production in advance of the second-generation Volt. That 2016 model-year version is said to have a longer all-electric range and better performance and will ride on a new chassis, but few official details have surfaced. We will know more when we get our first look at the car at the Detroit Auto Show in January.
Chevy admits there's confusion over Bolt and Volt names
Fri, Feb 20 2015Offering the possibility of 200 miles of driving range and the potential for a price of about $30,000, the Chevrolet Bolt is an incredibly enticing vehicle, and it has an opportunity to be a big player in the EV world. However, the hatchback has been plagued by one problem since the moment it debuted – the name. Bolt sounds very similar to Volt, Chevy's extended-range plug-in, and they can be easy to confuse in a conversation. That's not the best quality to have when trying to get a new vehicle's name out there among customers, and General Motors North America president Alan Batey told the Detroit Free Press that the company is aware of the problem. While the EV is definitely going into production, the model might be wearing a different moniker when it hits showrooms. "We're still in the decision phase. It could go either way," Batey said to the Free Press. He indicated the automaker still has about a year before a final decision is necessary. The Bolt will be built at GM's Orion Assembly plant in Michigan and will likely go on sale around 2017. That will put the Chevy on the market at roughly the same time as the 200-mile Tesla Model 3. Batey didn't seem too concerned, though. "Unlike Tesla, we can spread the cost over a whole lineup," he said to the Free Press. The future doesn't look quite so bright for the Spark EV, though. Batey suggested that it might not last once the longer-range Bolt fills that niche in the lineup. Related Video:
Driving McLaren's Sports Car and 'The Best Corvette' at the M1 Concourse | AutoblogVR
Wed, Apr 12 2017There's nothing better than a track day. Great cars on a great track are always great fun. Recently, we had the opportunity to check out the new M1 Concourse in Pontiac, MI, with two of the coolest cars in the game; a McLaren 570S and a Corvette Grand Sport. Driving the 570S was Autoblog senior editor Greg Migliore, and he didn't hold back. Getting behind the wheel of the McLaren, Greg explains that although this is McLaren's idea of a sports car, "it's all relative." Topping out at 204 miles per hour with 562 horsepower, there's no two ways about it: this thing is a monster. While the 570S was fantastic, we had another sports car we wanted to drive and editor-in-chief Mike Austin was just the man for the job. Enter the Corvette Grand Sport. Mike pushed all 460 horses of the 'Vette to the limit and came away impressed with the car, even calling it "the best Corvette." Comparing it to its more powerful sibling, the Z06, Mike goes so far as to say the Z06 has too much power, while the Grand Sport seems to be the third bear's bowl of porridge in the Corvette family... It's just right. We captured all the action of the day with 360° cameras so you can feel like you're right there in the car sitting shotgun with us! You can check out the McLaren and Corvette laps above, but the best way to view them is through the AutoblogVR app, where you can watch the videos on your VR headset or in a nice swivel-y office chair so you can take in the sights all around you. Each month, new episodes will launch on the AutoblogVR App. We'll be posting them here on Autoblog, but for the best experience, head over to the app, which you can download for free from the App store and Google Play. Be sure to try it with a cardboard viewer, too!
