Sadly, I have lost steam with finishing my Hot Rod Power Tour build.  I didn't get it finished in time for this last years cruise and have since devoted my time and energy to finishing my 67 C10.  Just don't have time for both and want someone else to enjoy this car.  This is a clean looking unique car with some big money spent on big name suspension upgrades along with some other goodies to make this a cross country cruiser.  The next owner will have the pleasure of setting up the suspension to their liking and cruise on to your favorite local hang out.  Here are the details:

1972 Monte Carlo
350 with stock quadrajet / Turbo 350
12 bolt
A/C car - all in place, haven't tried messing with it
~85K miles

Modifications:
-Hotchkis upper and lower control arms in the rear
-Hotchkis front and rear sway bars
-Tubular Upper and lower control arms in the front
-Brand new front brake kit (Speedway Motorsports, calipers, rotors, etc)
-Adjustable ride height spring suspension - Eibach springs with threaded spacers, allows you to change ride height with little effort
-New headers and exhaust (dumped before rear axle)
-Brand new 1970 monte carlo front bumper with stock turn signal housings (planned on making these into fog lights)
-Aftermarket front headlights
-Torque Thrust II wheels (17")
-Rear axle has been POR-15'd
-Front steering components replaced with all new parts
-Brand new HEI and plug wires

Goods:
Car really is in great, original shape. I'd rate the interior near perfect, all original. Clean up top and underneath. Runs/drives/stops. Paint is in good-great shape. Car starts right up, idles great, stays cool (even in TX). No smoke during start up.

Bads:
Has some vinyl top rust. Can feel it around the rear window. Has a few spots that have extended out of the perimeter of the vinyl top in the rear (see the walk around video). Vinyl top is still in great shape though. Needs a little tuning and suspension needs to be tweaked to really be a reliable cruiser....should be minimal work. Tires have great tread left but old. Has what I would consider typical "old car leaks" from the engine and trans (nothing major).

Title in hand.  Have lots of original parts that will go with it. Some suspension parts, fender skirts, etc.

Videos of it running and walk around:

Great car with lots of sleeper potential.  Although this car has been extremely reliable for me, I would highly advise against a long road trip with this.  It's an old car with a lot of new parts.  I feel it does require a little time with the new owner to set the suspension up to their liking.

Please do not hesitate to ask questions....I'll be happy to answer them as timely as possible.

I will cancel suspicious bidding. If you have little to no feedback or just joined ebay, I will need email confirmation from you prior to bidding or you bid will be cancelled. Item is for sale locally and I reserve the right to cancel the auction prior to ending. I will require a $500 immediate deposit and full payment within 1 week of the auction ending. I will do what I can (within reason) to work with shipping the car.

Weekly Recap: Lincoln Continental serves up the style, Cadillac CT6 delivers the substance in New York

Sat, Apr 4 2015

Lincoln and Cadillac grabbed the spotlight this week at the New York Auto Show in a dramatic fashion that evoked the brands' glory days. America's two luxury carmakers went toe-to-toe with their glittering reveals and plans for ambitious expansion. Both were selling their technology, style and the promise of a better future. Cadillac vs. Lincoln. At the Javits Center, 2015 seemed a lot like 1956. Neither company was interested in drawing comparisons with the other, which is fair, and accurate. They're in vastly different places in terms of sales and the pace of their turnarounds, but they hope to reach the same eventual destination at the pinnacle of the luxury-car world. Lincoln used the element of surprise to great effect with the Continental concept. A production version is still at least a year away, and the company was vague on details. Officially, we don't even know if it is front- or rear-wheel drive, though speculation abounds. Who cares? The seats can be adjusted 30 ways! The Continental also showed off a bold chrome grille that will be the new face of Lincoln. The blue bomber also rolled on blinged-out 21-inch polished aluminum wheels, used a 3.0-liter EcoBoost engine and had huge LED head lights with "laser-assisted" high beams. All of this resulted in almost blinding attention. The concept drew rave reviews, stirred controversy with Bentley designers who argued Lincoln ripped them off, and most importantly, pointed a way forward for the newly determined brand that hopes to compete with Mercedes, BMW, Audi, Cadillac and Lexus. View 32 Photos Meanwhile, Cadillac showed the CT6, a finished product that will top its range and is loaded with the best and latest technologies General Motors has at its disposal. With production starting late this year, Cadillac had more specifics at the ready. Engines? Cadillac has a couple V6s and a turbo four for sure. It's working on a hybrid, and has considered a V-Series variant. It's based on a new rear-wheel-drive, aluminum-intensive chassis called Omega, features an advanced collision-mitigation system with automatic braking and has a cabin that's laden with "leathers, exotic woods and carbon fiber." It will be assembled at GM's Detroit-Hamtramck factory and goes on sale next year. At this point, Cadillac is more than willing to talk about every except for the price. The devil was not in the details for Cadillac, as evidenced by the CT6. But it wasn't for Lincoln either.

GM extends vehicle production cuts into mid-March due to global chip shortage

Tue, Feb 9 2021

DETROIT — General Motors said on Tuesday it was extending production cuts at three North American plants until at least mid-March due to the global semiconductor chip shortage, while vehicles at two other factories would only be partially built. GM, whose shares dipped 1% after the announcement, did not disclose the impact volumes or say which supplier and vehicle parts were affected by the chip shortage. But it said it would focus on keeping production running at plants building its highest-profit vehicles, full-size pickup trucks and SUVs. GM said it intended to make up as much lost production as possible once the shortage chip eased. "Semiconductor supply remains an issue that is facing the entire industry. GM's plan is to leverage every available semiconductor to build and ship our most popular and in-demand products," GM spokesman David Barnas said. GM said it was extending downtime at its U.S. plant in Fairfax, Kansas, its Canadian factory in Ingersoll, Ontario, and its Mexican facility in San Luis Petosi until mid-March when it would reassess the situation, he said. In addition, GM would build but leave incomplete for final assembly vehicles at Wentzville, Missouri, and its Mexican plant at Ramos Arizpe. GM vehicles affected by the idled plants include the Chevrolet Malibu sedan, Cadillac XT4 SUV, Chevy Equinox, and GMC Terrain SUVs. Vehicles to be left incomplete for now included the Chevy Colorado, GMC Canyon pickups and Chevy Blazer SUV. This week, GM had said it was idling the three factories where it has now extended downtime and said it would halve production at a plant in South Korea. The chip shortage has affected many automakers, including Toyota, Volkswagen, Stellantis, Ford, Renault, Subaru, Nissan, Honda and Mazda. Asian chipmakers are rushing to boost production but say the supply gap will take many months to plug. German chipmaker Infineon said the shortage would get worse in the near term. The chip shortage is expected to cut global output in the first quarter by more than 670,000 vehicles and last into the third quarter, IHS Markit said. AutoForecast Solutions estimated total lost production this year could reach 1 million vehicles. Honda and Nissan said on Tuesday they would sell 250,000 fewer cars in total this financial year due.

Domino's reveals Chevy Spark-based delivery car

Wed, Oct 21 2015

Next time you order from Domino's Pizza, check out the delivery car. In an effort to get hot and fresh pizzas to hungry customers, the company is creating a small run of custom vehicles that are tailored for the job. Dubbed the Domino's Delivery Expert (DXP), these 2015 Chevrolet Spark-based hatchbacks pack a plethora of features to provide the perfect pie. When the DXP's on delivery duty, every order should arrive steaming hot thanks to the hatchback's biggest custom upgrade – a warming oven right behind the driver. Accessible from outside, it can keep pizzas at the perfect temperature on the way to your house and hold two of Domino's Heatwave bags. Other than the driver's seat, the rest of the interior also gets replaced with bountiful storage and non-slip surfaces. According to the company, as many as 80 pizzas could conceivably fit inside, and that would be quite a party. The exterior is still clearly derived from the Spark but with some clever additions. An illuminated "Out for Delivery" sign is on the roof, and a puddle light shoots the Domino's logo on the ground. Plus, the company's red-and-blue color scheme is emblazoned over the hood, pillars, and hatch. Underneath all the pizza-related mods, power comes from a 1.2-liter four-cylinder and CVT. Rather than just a one-off stunt, Domino's is working with Roush Enterprises and former General Motors exec Kenneth R. Baker to build 100 DXPs. They're hitting the streets in 25 US cities, and you can check if your locale is included on the project's website. The seed of this idea came from a partnership with Local Motors to crowdsource the ultimate pizza delivery platform. Domino's Launches Purpose-Built Pizza Delivery Vehicle Domino's Innovative DXP™ Created by Three Great Michigan Brands and an International Crowdsourcing Design Competition Ann Arbor, Mich., Oct. 21, 2015 -- In its latest innovation as the recognized world leader in pizza delivery, Domino's (NYSE:DPZ) is launching the Domino's DXP™ (Delivery Expert), a specially designed and built pizza delivery vehicle. The DXP is the combined brainchild of former GM R&D executive Kenneth R. Baker, Michigan-based Roush Enterprises and Domino's. To also include consumers' input, hundreds of concepts were initially identified in an online crowdsourcing design competition hosted by Local Motors. "The Domino's DXP is the first purpose-built vehicle aimed at revolutionizing pizza delivery," said Russell Weiner, president of Domino's USA.
