Up for auction is my adored Z34. This is an original California car that I purchased from the original owner. I bought it over a year ago with 37K miles from Vacaville CA where I had it shipped to the greater Los Angeles area. It was my project car that I've wanted for years since this was the first car I learned how to drive in back in 1992 when my father had one. So, I'm an enthusiast about these. Thus, my ad is truthful and as upfront as I can be. I have to sell as I have 4 cars now and I am commuting to work alot and I just don't have room/time for the Z. I'd rather see it go to a good home than see sit outside in the elements.

This car was all original when I bought it - down to the fluids! It still has the original tires! Since I've purchased it, I've put over 2500 in documented maintenance including:
  • All fluids - brake, Antifreeze, trans, and steering fluids
  • Timing belt
  • Serpentine belt
  • Transmission hose/lines
  • Engine vacuum lines
  • Tune up/plugs and wires
  • Front brakes - and I have the parts for the rear that come with it - pads and rotors
  • New passenger mirror
  • Full interior and exterior detail
The Good:

Paint is awesome! No fading anywhere!!!!! I buffed it with a rotary tool and it took out almost all the little spider webs.
All the moldings around the windshield and windows are perfect. No deterioration at all.
Interior is perfect. No rips, tears, stains. Only slight dirt on drivers mats but ill shampoo them out the best I can. The dash is flawless. No buckling where the windshield meets the dash. The dash mat helped!
I have the original radio still - and it works perfectly. I installed an aftermarket head that's bluetooth ready for iPhone wireless streaming.
Rims are flawless. No curbrash anywhere.
Spare tire and tools are there and are perfect.
There is an aftermarket keyless entry system that works perfect - and two sets of original keys.
No fading on any plastic lenses of the lights, paint, bumpers, or anything anywhere. I guarantee this!
Everything works on the car...all electrical (door locks, windows, cruise) works perfectly.
Air conditioning blows cold and doesnt have any leaks
There are no SES lights, or warning lights on the dash. ABS works perfect, engine runs perfectly and strong
Trans shifts good. A little hard on the upshift only due to the vacuum lines that I haven't had time to replace; alot of rubber in the engine that is hard to reach to replace so to get good seals on the vacuum lines. It shifts fine for 44K miles and you've got plenty of miles to go.
I fixed all engine leaks. There are NO leaks anywhere - trans pan and oil pan. For those of you who know of the 3.4 DOHC, there isn't any rear seal leak at all. Dealer checked it out. You've still got time! LOL

Known issues:

Tires are ORIGINAL. Make sure you know this. There is still about 5-10K miles left on them but they are from 1993. You may want to replace or keep - up to you.
There was a hit and run on the drivers fender - see pics. I pounded it out and it's not that noticeable. I kept it that way to keep it all original. It was the fender and corner light only. No other damage to frame/structure anywhere.
The suspension is a bit soft on long freeway drives but is not bouncy all over the place. So it really isnt that bad but I wanted to disclose this.
There are bumper scuffs on the drivers front bumper and rear. There are door dings on both driver and passenger doors...normal for a 20+ year old car. No major scratched in the paint at all.
I suspect the rack/pinion is going. When turning the steering wheel, you can feel the vibration a bit. But there are no leaks in the rack at all.

This is the best information I can give. Let me know if you want to know specific things and Ill reply!

No lowballing the price. I'm not desperate to sell. No warranties stated or implies and all sales are final. Deposit of 500 is due at auction end via PayPal - no negotiating on this. Have cash in your bank before you bit. Zero feedback bidders will be automatically deleted. Full payment can be in cash or wired/transferred to my Bank of America within 7 days of Auction end. If not, you will be reported and the car may be relisted.

2020 Chevy Silverado HD vs. 2019 Ram, Ford heavy duty trucks: How they compare on paper

Tue, Jan 15 2019

Last year was all about the latest in light-duty full-size pickup trucks, so this year, Ram, Ford and Chevy are launching the heavy-duty variants. The first out of the gate is the redesigned 2019 Ram 2500 and 3500 HD, and Ram dropped all the pertinent specs with the reveal. Chevy followed with the new Silverado HD in Chicago, and Ford revealed updates to the Super Duty at the same show. Ford hasn't released details on output, payload capacity, towing capacity or pricing for the updated Super Duty. As such, we'll be comparing the current Super Duty with the all-new Silverado HD and Ram HD. Both Chevy and Ram have revealed full specs for each of their respective trucks, leaving out only pricing, which we've estimated based on the outgoing models. You can see the raw details in the chart below, followed by extra information and analysis. Some things to keep in mind: These specifications cover all versions of the Ram HD, Silverado HD and Super Duty, such as 2500 and 3500 models, and all the way up to F-450. Specifications can vary widely based on engine, drivetrain, cab and bed configurations, so be sure to take a close look at the specific model you're interested in when you get particularly serious about buying. And of course, be sure to check out our car comparison tool if you'd like to look at other trucks on the market. Engines and drivetrains All three of these trucks offer gasoline and diesel engines, but only the Ram has two versions of the diesel. Starting with gas engines, Ram's 6.4-liter V8 has the power advantage with 25 more horsepower than the next-most-potent Super Duty, but the new Silverado HD's 6.6-liter V8 takes the torque crown at 464 pound-feet, nearly 35 more than the other two gas engines. The Ram is also the only one to pair an eight-speed automatic with the gas engine, whereas the Ford and Chevy make do with a six-speed. With diesel engines, horsepower is a weak point for the Ram. The Ram's entry-level turbo 6.7-liter inline-six is the weakest, as the only one with under 900 pound-feet of torque and under 400 horsepower. Even the high-output version only makes 400 horsepower, while the Chevy makes 445 and the Ford 450. But the tables turn with torque, as the Ram makes a best-in-class 1,000 pound-feet followed by the Ford's 935 and the Chevy's 910. Both the Ram and the current Super Duty diesels each get a six-speed automatic, but the new Silverado HD's diesel gets a 10-speed unit.

GM’s Charlie Wilson was right: Stronger regulations can help U.S. automakers

Fri, Oct 26 2018

Charlie Wilson had been the president and CEO of General Motors before being nominated to become secretary of defense by Dwight Eisenhower. During his Senate confirmation hearings, he controversially said, "For years I thought what was good for our country was good for General Motors, and vice versa." And he was right. While car companies aren't necessarily the most progressive when it comes to things that might have the slightest possibility of political blowback, General Motors should be credited for doing something absolutely forthright in this regard with its announcement that it wants the federal U.S. government not to squash the California Air Resources Board's emissions requirements but to actually create a 50-state "National Zero Emissions Vehicle" program that, in the words of Mark Reuss, executive vice president and president, Global Product Group and Cadillac, "will drive the scale and infrastructure investments needed to allow the U.S. to lead the way to a zero emission future." Filing comments to the Safer Affordable Fuel-Efficient Vehicles Rule for Model Years 2021-2026 Passenger Cars and Light Trucks is one thing. But a graphic the company developed for this announcement — shown above — is something else entirely, something that is absolutely credible, creative and clever. There is a photo of a Chevrolet Bolt EV driving along a highway, which seems to be in Marin County (based on the blurred San Francisco skyline in the background). Text on the photo states: "It's Time for American Leadership in Zero Emissions Vehicles." It seems to say, in effect, "If we want to make America great again, then we're going to do it by leading in technology, not by retreating behind weakened regulations." General Motors understands that the auto market is globally competitive, and if U.S.-based companies are going to be in the game, then they'd better be able to out-innovate the companies based elsewhere, where emissions and economy standards are not being weakened. Corvette Z06 and Viper TA square off at the strip

Wed, Jan 21 2015

There are many long-standing grudge matches among automobiles: 911 vs GT-R, Mustang vs Camaro, Ferrari vs Lamborghini... but as far as high-end American metal goes, it doesn't get much more legendary than Viper vs 'Vette. So after Chevy released the new Corvette Z06, we knew it was only a matter of time before it would have to square off against the Viper TA. And what better place to pit these two parallel pillars of American performance than on the drag strip? Fortunately that's just what we have here. In one corner, the 2014 Dodge Viper TA, with its 8.4-liter V10 pumping out 640 horsepower and 600 pound-feet of torque. In the other, the 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06, the supercharger on its 6.2-liter V8 more than making up for the discrepancy in displacement and cylinder count to produce 650 hp and just as much torque. But numbers don't tell the whole story, so watch the video clip to see which reaches the end of the quarter-mile first.
