1969 Impala Restomod - New Interior New Paint, New Air Suspension, New Radiator on 2040-cars
Atlanta, Georgia, United States
Vehicle Title:Clear
Mileage: 99,999
Make: Chevrolet
Exterior Color: Candy Apple Red
Model: Impala
Interior Color: Black
Trim: Sedan
Number of Cylinders: 8
Drive Type: RWD
I bought this car in January 2013 for 3500, from the paint shop that painted it. The kid that had it painted didn't have money to pay and paid with the car.
The paint job is simply amazing.
The chrome details like bumpers and door handles were all tinted in a bronze like color.
I had a new windshield put on it at the shop and had the car shipped to my house.
I have the car registered on my name, and have the original title.
Items I have bought and installed:
- Aluminum oversized race grade radiator and hoses.
- Tubular front suspension arms
- All rubber in the vehicle, including all weatherstripping, all door bumps, etc
- Basket weave period correct black headliner (no sail panels)
- Full show grade replacement carpet - black
- Full period correct seat foam and vinyl covers, black with red striping
- Spark plugs and wires (Jegs silicone race grade)
- Kit with ALL screws in chrome stainless steel
- 1969 original GA license plate, legal.
- Valve cover gaskets
- Power steering pump hoses
- Rear shocks
- Period correct sport steering wheel 3 spokes
- Window rolling handles (chrome and red)
- Full air suspension ( also know as hydraulics ) with high grade air bags springs, on board compressor, tank, 8 valves, control each independent wheels, axels or the entire car in one touch.
I have included the original hub caps and rings, most of the exterior trim and front and rear window molding, all original stuff I removed from the interior. That alone will bring you around 1500 on ebay.
The car runs well.
The car is almost ready for driving or to be taken to car shows (and win some cash!)
This is what I would still do to it:
Carburetor tune up
Suspension tune up
Install stabilizer bar ( I left it out )
Finish tucking the headliner and the carpet in, cover the basket parcel with black carpet.
The dash works but I would take it out and check all lights and gauges.
Install a bad a$$ stereo :D
I injured my knee and cannot continue to work on it.
Don't miss out! Its like a brand new 1969 Impala.

GM's Buckle to Drive teen safety feature comes to more models for 2021
Mon, Jul 6 2020In 2014, GM announced a feature called "Belt Assurance," which would prevent a vehicle from being shifted out of park until the driver and front passenger had buckled their seatbelts. Initially launched on certain fleet vehicles in 2014, the feature rolled out as a free option on the 2015 GMC Sierra, Chevrolet Colorado, Cruze and Silverado. At the time, GM said it would push Belt Assurance to more models if customers took to it. That appears to have happened; come 2019, GM repackaged Belt Assurance as Buckle to Drive, part of the automaker's Teen Driver System that bundled tech such as geofencing and speed limit warnings to help parents keep track of their children's driving habits. In that implementation, the system only works when Teen Driver Mode is activated, locking out the shifter and muting the radio for 20 seconds or until the seatbelts are buckled, whichever comes first. The system shows a visual warning in the gauge cluster, too. For this model year, the Teen Driver System came standard on 10 Chevy models, but Buckle to Drive was only allotted to the Colorado, Malibu and Traverse. Later this year, the 2021 Camaro will join the Chevys outfitted with the Teen Driver System and will get Buckle to Drive in addition. GM Authority reports that for the 2021 model year, Buckle to Drive will also be picked up by the Cadillac CT4 and CT5. Previously, the Cadillac ATS, CTS, Escalade and XTS came with the Teen Driver System, but three out of those four vehicles are no more, and the 2021 Escalade makes no mention of the Teen Driver System nor Buckle to Drive among its safety features. Elsewhere around the GM empire, the Buick Envision and Encore GX include the Teen Driver System, as do six GMC vehicles, but it's not clear when any will be upgraded with Buckle to Drive. The tech could help save numerous teenagers' lives. On its page of teen crash facts, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention writes that roughly 300,000 teens between the ages of 16 and 19 ended up in emergency rooms to treat crash injuries in 2017. Furthermore, "only 58.8% of high school students always wore seat belts when riding as passengers," and, "Among young drivers aged 15-20 who died in car crashes in 2017, almost half were unrestrained at the time of the crash (when restraint use was known)." China's rise, global restructuring wither GM's Korea division
Wed, Jan 7 2015An article in the Daily Kanban suggests the sun is setting on GM Korea, and it could already be well into dusk. GM Korea came about when General Motors, along with co-investors SAIC and Suzuki, bought Daewoo Motors from parent company Daewoo Group in 2001; it had a previous tie-up with GM, a joint venture that ended in 1992, although Daewoo cars were based on GM cars until 1996. Over the decade following the purchase, it became such an important part of operations that it was renamed GM Korea in 2011, "to reflect its heightened status in [the] global operations of GM." Just two years later, the printed rumors were that the subsidiary responsible for a fifth of Chevrolet's global production could be shutting down. The division's sales were down almost 21 percent through November of last year, counting domestic South Korean sales, exports, and CKD – Complete Knock Down – products. That makes the labor strife, already an issue for four years, even more acute, reports say the subsidiary will lose $36 million a year if it can't get the job and wage cuts it wants, and government concessions can't make up for the losses. And it gets worse, so head over to Daily Kanban to read the rest of the story.
