1964 Impala two door hardtop, factory AC car with fantasy top. If you're into 64s and have a use for a cache of extra trim and spares, this is for you. Acquired about half way through restoration from a local who had been gathering bits and pieces for years. No motor or trans, but looks like an otherwise complete car and the best trim parts from two other hardtops and an Impala SS. Duplicates of many pieces, and triplicates of some. Many brand new interior and exterior trim parts, emblems, and clips from Ecklers and Classic are stored in boxes. Front clip is super straight and clean. Inner fender wells included (with one extra well - see images) but not installed. X-Frame is solid, straight and rustless. Original transmission cross member and V8 engine mount frame towers are in the car, as is a good radiator. Comes with new body bushings (still in box) and new weatherstrip from Soft Seal, including windshield and rear glass seals, trunk seal, fuzzies, and door weatherstrip. Includes many spare body parts (not everything is shown in the images, believe it or not), including a extra complete rear bumper, spare grille, two core supports, both right and left doors,  rear window, spare right and left quarter glass, and spare instrument cluster. Also includes a complete original very clean right side rear quarter panel, which I think was intended to replace the one on the car that is a bit wavy. There are also random parts from the driveline, such as pulleys, in the mix. Brake hardware looked like it had been recently gone through when we pulled a front drum, and master cylinder appears newly installed (needs line to frame block installed) The body is a west coast survivor with minimal rust. Fenders are perfect. There is a patch panel installed on right front floor. One problem area I found is on the "ledge" below the left tail light where it meets the rear bumper. A straight, rustless patch panel from a donor car is in the pile of spares. Bottom pan in trunk has no obvious rust through but looks thin. Rockers and cowl are solid. There is a spare floor section with floor braces for the area behind the seat, but what's on the car looks OK. The only parts I know are missing for sure are the left front bumper section and the hood hinges (although, oddly, the hood hinge springs are there). Asking $3800 for all. Posted on Craigs locally and will end auction for first reasonable offer. Clear and open AZ title. I AM NOT SELLING PARTS AT THIS TIME. Please call, text or e-mail questions. 520-250-7027.

Pure Vision Design TT Camaro has 1,400 reasons to want it

    Wed, 06 Nov 2013

We've talked about Pure Vision Design before, a California-based company that made waves at last year's SEMA show with its Martini-liveried, Indy-car-powered Ford Mustang. That same car later starred in a Petrolicious video we showed you just a few weeks back. The company's latest creation is a menacing car it calls the Pure Vision Design TT Camaro. Based on a 1972 model, this car shares the Martini Mustang's clean styling and obsession with details.
Unlike the Mustang, which draws its power from a mid-60s Lotus-Ford Indycar engine, the "TT" in this Camaro's name implies something far more potent. The Nelson Racing Engines 427-cubic-inch V8 has been fitted with a pair of turbochargers, with a claimed output of 1,400 horsepower. That's almost 1,000 more than the Martini Mustang.
A six-speed Magnum transmission dispatches that power to the ground, while Pirelli PZero tires are tasked with (somehow) trying to grip the road. Baer brakes hide behind those HRE rims, while JRI coilovers and HyperTech springs bless the Camaro with some degree of competency in the bends.

Chevy Bolt wins 2017 Green Car of the Year

    Thu, Nov 17 2016

We knew that a plug-in vehicle was going to win the 2017 Green Car of the Year award this year, given that all five finalists have a way to charge up. And when Ron Cogan, the editor and publisher of Green Car Journal, announced the winner – the 2017 Chevy Bolt EV – he said that the car itself represents one of those times in the auto industry when everything is about to change. Similar to the invention of the starter motor, things are about to get different. For now, though, the fact that the Bolt EV won an award sounds like the same old thing all over again. Just this week, it was named Motor Trends Car of the Year and to the Car And Driver Top 10 list. The other four finalists for Green Car of the Year included the Toyota Prius Prime, the Chrysler Pacifica, the Kia Optima (including hybrid and plug-in hybrid models) and the BMW 330e iPerformance. Last year, the winner was the 2016 Chevy Volt. Did Green Car Journal make the right selection this year? See the award ceremony below.

Chevy Volt gets customer satisfaction 'recall' for rear hatch issue *UPDATE*

    Mon, Jan 26 2015

Last week, General Motors has issued a "Customer Satisfaction program" for some 2011-2015 model year Chevrolet Volts to fix the manual rear lift gate not working as appropriate. According to Volt owner posts on Facebook, the problem manifests itself by the hatch not opening up all the way (sometimes worse in the cold) with some people bumping their heads. Dealers will replace the lift gate struts as part of the program. Some drivers were notified through the vehicle's OnStar system that there is a problem. GM has not yet said how many Volts are affected. *UPDATE* This program is for all 2011-2015 model year Volts. Chevrolet spokesperson Michelle Malcho told AutoblogGreen that, "This is not a recall, so there won't be any formal information posted on the GM website." The fixes will be free to affected Volt owners. Some 2010-2015 Cadillac SRX vehicles are also affected by the same problem and will also be fixed.
