1986 CHEVY G10 SHORTY Cargo VAN :
This is a Very Straight, 95% RUST FREE Chevy G10 Shorty Van
Originally from Texas, I purchased it a few months ago and started restoring it,
but my plans have changed so I am selling it to fund another project.
The van starts up right away after sitting for a few weeks, runs ok though could definitely use a tune up.
( I have driven it about 50 miles, both in the city and on the highway, with no problems at all. )
I got it cheap, so am letting it go cheap...
it is worth as much in parts alone than my starting price...
and is being listed with NO RESERVE.
It is a good inexpensive local knock around van as is,
or a PERFECT start for a rebuild or restoration if that is your intention....
and we all know how hard it is to find a good straight, rust free SHORTY on the east coast at any price.
The van supposedly has new brakes and rotors on it, and it stops like it does.
It also has a full set of tough old school Cragar Mags on it - one cap is missing but easily available on ebay.
I replaced the trashed original buckets with very clean Captains chairs, which also have built in cup holders on both sides.
I also replaced the headlight bezels, and had them freshened up with hi-grade SEM matte black paint along with the grill and both bumpers.
The steering wheel is also in very good condition.
The Dash is a bit rough but works fine, and the windshield is cracked so would probably need to be replaced to pass inspection.
The pictures tell the rest of the story, I have also included two pics of the ONLY rust on the entire vehicle to be clear.
The drivers door is slightly peeled out toward bottom, as you can see in pics. - it's an easy fix or replacement door to find.
The van was fully built out and insulated inside before I gutted it, so everything else was protected and is very very clean.
Shipping and delivery is the full responsibility of buyer,
The van is being sold AS IS, where it is, at a price that reflects no further guarantee than the info stated above.
Zero feedback bidders will not be accepted without prior contact and clearance,
50% deposit due within 48 hours of the end of auction.
Please do not bid if you are not serious or do not have the funds ready to go.
Thank You.

Corvette Stolen In Detroit Returned To Owner After 33 Years
Wed, Jun 25 2014A Detroit man had his stolen Corvette returned 33 years after it disappeared while parked on one of Detroit's main drags, according to ABC 7. The last time George Talley saw his 1979 Corvette was on a July day in 1981, when it disappeared from its parking spot on Jefferson Avenue in Detroit. He had given up hope of ever seeing his car again, until a phone call from AAA brought his sporty ride home. Authorities had come across a Corvette with a questionable VIN in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. When they ran the number Talley's stolen car report came up. The car is still in pretty good shape and only has 47,000 miles on the odometer. Talley wasn't sure how he could get the car back home, but General Motors stepped in and agreed to cover the cost of bringing the 'Vette home. Talley has always had a passion for Detroit-made muscle cars. "I've always liked Corvettes. It was attractive. The ladies like 'em," Talley told ABC 7.
Ford GT dominates Le Mans qualifying, gets slapped with performance adjustment
Fri, Jun 17 2016Fifty years after Bruce McLaren and Chris Amon drove the Ford GT40 to victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Ford is poised for a historic return to the Circuit de la Sarthe. The new Ford GT took the top two qualifying positions in the LMGTE Pro class, and four of the top five. Ferrari's 488 filled in the rest of the spots in the top seven, the first two from AF Corse. In other words, we're primed for a reboot of the classic Ford-Ferrari feud at this year's race. Or not, as the ACO, which organizes the 24 Hours of Le Mans, announced sweeping pre-race Balance of Performance (BOP) adjustments this morning that make this year's GT class anybody's race. In LMP1, last year's overall winner Porsche locked up the top two spots with the 919 Hybrid and will lead the entire field at race start. Toyota's two-car factory effort followed with qualifying times 1.004 and 2.170 seconds behind the pole lap. Audi rounds out the manufacturer-backed LMP1 class in fifth and sixth. Full qualifying results can be found here. The storyline for the GT cars is perfect - some say too perfect. Ford's class-leading times came after BOP adjustment to the Corvette Racing C7.R before qualifying. BOP is intended to level the playing field in the class by adjusting power, ballast, and fuel capacity. (Check out this explainer video for more, or even just if you love French accents.) But the process is riddled with unknowns and ripe for accusations of sandbagging. That is, if the Ford cars were intentionally slow in practice they could hope for BOP adjustment to improve their race chances. On the Corvette side, last year's GTE Pro winner went from the top of the field to the bottom, barely improving from practice to qualifying. If you think Le Mans is as rigged at the NBA Playoffs, well, it's not that simple. Because if Ford and Ferrari held back until qualifying - the eighth-place Porsche 911 RSR is three-and-a-half seconds off the class pole time - it was a pretty dumb strategy. This morning, the ACO tried to put things back in order by limiting the boost in the Ford GT's twin-turbo V6 and adding 11 pounds of ballast. Ferrari was also given extra weight but allowed more fuel capacity. The Corvette and Aston Martin teams were both given breaks on their air restrictors, which will allow their engines to make more power. Both Ford and Porsche also received extra fuel capacity.
GM won't pay owners of recalled cars for lost value
Thu, 12 Jun 2014Kenneth Feinberg, the man in charge of the General Motors compensation fund dealing with the its widespread ignition switch woes, has issued an informal, two-letter response to the plaintiffs in more than 70 lawsuits seeking redress for lost resale value of their Cobalts: "No." The cases were recently combined into one, but Feinberg told The Detroit News that the fund will deal "only with death and physical injury claims," and that "perceived diminished value" will get no consideration.
ALG, the firm specializing in establishing residual values, determined that Cobalt owners had lost $300 compared to the segment competition and doesn't envision any long-term effects from the recall situation. Feinberg's statement comes in advance of public details on how the compensation fund will work and adheres to GM's long-held position on the matter. The company has already asked a judge to throw out such suits using the pre-bankruptcy defense, even as it stopped using that defense in cases of injury and death.
With plenty of potential gain from the GM suit, however, don't expect the plaintiffs to give up yet. When Toyota was sued for the same reason during the unintended acceleration debacle, it eventually settled the case for between $1 billion and $1.4 billion just to get it over with. Since the 85 law firms involved in the Toyota litigation took home more than $250 million of that total, we shouldn't expect the attorneys to give up on a GM payout, either.
