1989 Chevrolet Corvette on 2040-cars
Indianola, Illinois, United States
If you have questions email email me at: paigeplleverentz@uk8.net .
This is a collectors dream. It's basically a brand new 1989 C4 Corvette. I purchased it about 2 years ago from a
collector with just under 4,000 miles. It had been started and run regularly to keep the seals wet but I don't
believe its ever seen rain or snow. The passenger seat doesn't look like its ever been used. Even though the
milage was under 4,000 I had the tires and battery replaced because of their age at a cost of $900.00. (A photo of
the receipt is included). I also had the chevy dealer go through it, give it a thorough check up and change all the
fluids and hoses due to potential dry rot at a cost of just over $1000.00. I had the original radio, which was a
Delco-Bose cassette unit swapped out with an OEM AM/FM CD radio. The original radio is available if wanted. Since
the Bose speakers were not working properly , I had all the speakers sent to Bose to be refurbished. This service
was $1,200 and the receipt for this is also pictured in the listing. I have put just over $3000 in the car in the
past two years to ensure its in perfect working order and reliable. A photo of the original window sticker is in
the listing and included in the sale. I have 3 sets of keys, all the manuals and the glass top wrench with the car.
The car is charcoal metallic on the outside and light gray leather inside. The car is immaculate inside and out.
Its also immaculate underneath since its never been driving in inclement weather. It is optioned with the
following: * Tilt/telescoping steering wheel * Leather wrapped sport steering wheel * Electronic LCD instrument
panel * Dual electric remote heated outside mirrors * Power operated retractable halogen headlamps * Halogen fog
lamps * Remote rear hatch release * Bosch ABS II anti-lock braking system * Electronic speed control * Side window
defoggers * Rear window defogger * Power rack and pinion steering * Intermittent wipers * 5.7 Liter TPI V8 *
Automatic 4 speed transmission with OD * Engine oil cooler * Heavy Duty Radiator * Air Conditioning * Six way power
drivers seat * Glass roof panel/ Targa top * Power antenna * Aluminum wheels * Power door locks and windows * Spare
tire (a rare option for the C4) This car originally had a Greenwood ground effects package installed. I removed the
side skirts and front spoiler but left the rear wing. The front spoiler was damaged so I removed it and it's not
included with the sale. The side skirts are all included if you want them. There are a few holes drilled in the
lower area of the rear bumper that were required to install this package. Other that that, the car is immaculate
and runs beautifully. If I was going to be very critical of the cosmetics, there are a few small scuffs on the
front bumper that you can see in the close up shot in images. They are not deep and would be easy to fix. This is a
close to a new C4 as you are ever going to find. If you want to see additional photos or need any other info about
the car, don't hesitate to let me know. Thanks.

Race Recap: 2013 Twelve Hours of Sebring, cakewalk up front, grindfest out back [w/spoilers]
Tue, 19 Mar 2013This year's 12 Hours of Sebring wasn't exactly a foregone conclusion because we're still talking about racing, and anything can happen when the speeds are as high as the adrenaline and the desire. But we're still talking about Audi bringing it's two top-spec racers - and its huge budget and its nearly neurotic attention to detail - to a race that it uses as a test bed for The 24 Hours of Le Mans and as a way to open the endurance racing season with a victory.
Besides, 12 hours is a long time, especially at Sebring, and things didn't go all Audi's way. On top of that, although it was a pretty quiet race, behind the Audis things got even grimier, with plenty of battles, plenty of mechanical issues, and the new BMW Z4 GTE and Viper GTS-R being race tested. Oh, and that brand new chromed-out DeltaWing...
Helicopter crashes on Top Gear Korea set while chasing Corvette ZR1
Mon, 11 Feb 2013The formula of Top Gear Korea is seemingly about the same as it is everywhere else in the world, including the flagship British original: involve interesting cars in fantastical situations with charismatic hosts. That prescription has proved to be pretty reliable over the years, and has lead to some truly memorable and exciting pieces of television.
Something like that was undoubtedly what the Korean producers were after when they lined up this segment - a drag race between a Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 and an AH1 Cobra military helicopter. The planners almost certainly did not expect the filming of the segment to go quite as wrong as it actually did, with the helicopter actually crashing into the dirt after the "drag race" had been completed. Thankfully, we're told that no one was seriously injured in the crash, but the footage, in the video below, is pretty damn chilling to watch, nevertheless.
2019 Toyota Avalon vs. full-size sedans: How they compare on paper
Mon, Apr 23 2018Full-size sedans aren't exactly in great demand at the moment, and at least one of the vehicles in this comparison has been rumored to be on the endangered species list. Yet, we've just had our first drive in the 2019 Toyota Avalon, and if anything has a chance of rejuvenating the segment a bit, it's an all-new version of what has long been the segment's benchmark. To see how the new Avalon compares, we've put together the below spreadsheet featuring the Avalon's primary apples-to-apples rivals, the Buick LaCrosse and Chevy Impala. We also included the Nissan Maxima, which is comparable in price, sales and non-luxury badge, and which offers the sort of increased driver engagement promised by the new Avalon XSE and Touring trim levels. We also included the outgoing Avalon for reference as well as that car's luxury cousin, the Lexus ES, which can definitely be cross-shopped with the luxuriously trimmed Avalon Limited. You can use our Compare Cars tool to create your own comparison, such as one featuring the rear-wheel-drive Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger or even Kia Stinger. Alright, enough chit chat. On to the spreadsheet. Performance and fuel economy The GM sedans may come standard with four cylinders, including a mild hybrid system in the LaCrosse, but puh-lease. The V6 is the name of the game in this segment, with outputs now surpassing the 300-horsepower mark. The LaCrosse is the horsepower and torque champ, though it also weighs a bit more than the new 2019 Avalon, so acceleration is likely to be comparable. The Impala weighs a lot more and has only a six-speed automatic, so despite having a wee bit more power, one should expect it to be pokier (not a good sign for a car rumored to be on the chopping block). One would expect the Maxima's 300 hp and lowest curb weight to result in the quickest acceleration, but then it's also strapped to a CVT, which despite being better than ever, is still a CVT. Things get worse for Chevy when you consider the Impala's base four-cylinder gets the same 25 mpg combined as the Avalon's V6 — once again a segment best. Now, should you really prioritize fuel economy, the 2019 Toyota Avalon Hybrid really stands out with a 43 mpg rating (or 44 with the base XLE trim) that bests the outgoing Avalon Hybrid. Honestly, after driving this new Hybrid, it actually seems like it would be the best bet for most buyers. There's sufficient power, and it only costs $1,000 more than the comparable V6 version.
