Up for sale today with much sadness is my 1987 corvette. I have driven and owned my fair share of cars and for the money I don't think that you can find a car that is even close to as fun to drive as the C4 corvette but if you are looking at this listing chances are you already know this. I spent 2 years trying to find a car that had most of its major components working as well as a car that was high optioned for the time this car has the rare Delco Bose stereo, digital climate control electric seats and windows mirrors and the clear Targa roof and most importantly and Atuo transmission but why an auto in a sports car, these cars from 1984 to 1989 had a 4 + 3 trans that always had some sort of problem while the Autos were problem free. This car is in nice shape for a 25+ year old car but its shows its age in places. The car will also need a good motor tune up and it does have a lifter tic but it still runs and drives fine. If you would like to view the car please send me an email with you name and phone number. Please read the below overview.

Exterior: The paint is in ok shape with some problems the front bumper has been painted but is paint is dull but it still looks good unless you are on top of it. The rear quarter and the rear bumper has nicks and dings and could use paint otherwise the paint is in good shape for a 25 + year old car.

Interior: When I purchased the car it had seats that were in poor shape and carpet that had seen too much sun so I had to replace them. I found seats that were recovered re padded and had rebuilt motors. The carpet was taken from the same donor car and while it is not new it is in better shape then the old carpet. The interior is taken care of and I will supply an extra set of door panels as well I did not do them because the door panels are still in good shape but I wanted a set anyway.

Driveline: The motor starts every time with no issue with only 82000 miles. The car when I got it had a old set of headers that had to go along with holes in the front and year y pipes with I have replaced the mufflers were done by last owner. The auto trans shifts like new with no problems even in the cold. BUT the car will need a good tune up and THE CAR HAS A LIFTER TIC in the rear passenger side cylinder. Otherwise Id daily drive if I could.

Electronics: As most of you know the dash boards in these cars almost never work until they are rebuilt which this one has been and works like a charm has not let me down yet. The radio works most of the time but does go in and out( id have it redone). The digi climate control works well and the AC and heat work well. Lights go up and down with no problems and the turn signals work ( lever needs to be tightened).

Problems: While this car is in good shape it still needs some paint work. Id suggest plugs and wires and tighten up the header bolts and have the lifter tic looked into I was told by my local mechanic that it could be as simple as a lose bolt or a set of lifters. These are the Items I know need attention but the car is so close to being done it won't take much to bring it there.

So why is he selling the car that he spent 9000 on and spent 2 years looking for, well I just don't use it enough and I don't have the time to finish it. I hope it will find a new home with someone who can enjoy it and drive it like it should be driven.

Autoblog In Cuba: 1957 Chevy Bel Air Review

Mon, Oct 5 2015

If you've been following the Autoblog In Cuba series, you may remember that my efforts to rent a car in the country were ultimately unsuccessful. Misinformation, bad planning, and a lack of rental car inventory conspired to disrupt my hoped-for driving adventure. I discovered in my week of exploration, however, that the terrific thing about Havana is that there's always another adventure to be found – if you're willing to look. A car I could drive myself might have been impossible to come by, but a ride to remember was not. After all, even when reviewing a new car, I've found that impressions about the car and the route can be credibly formed from the right seat. Starting from the parking lot of the grand Hotel Nacional, finding an interesting car for hire is as simple as walking up and down the block. Scads of classic American iron wait just outside the hotel gates, in a riot of colors and conditions befitting the tropical climate. Fords from the 1940s are plentiful – more sedans than coupes – and the glory days of General Motors are represented by enough Pontiacs and Cadillacs to fill a Bruce Springsteen B-sides album. But the Chevy Bel Air is the king of the road here, by some margin. View 30 Photos I settled on a burnt orange 1957 Chevy Bel Air convertible, in tourist-appropriate condition. I was looking for a hardtop at the request of my crew's audio/video needs, but settled on a burnt orange 1957 Chevy Bel Air convertible, in tourist-appropriate condition. This car might look good as a prop in the background on your vacation photos – hair blowing in the breeze with the ocean at your back, parked in front of Che's face in Revolution Square, etc. – but was far from pristine on a closer inspection. A perfect representative of the Cuban average. At least the price was right: $50 for two hours to make it 12 miles to Hemingway's house, and back. My driver was a kid named Daniel who looked to be about 20 years old. The Chevy doesn't belong to him, he co-drives it with the owner, but he was able to give me the basic mechanical rundown. The eight- or six-cylinder engine that Chevy shipped this convertible with was long gone. No surprise there, as nearly every American-made car I'd ridden in so far was powered by some belching Mercedes diesel. Despite it's clattering note, Daniel said the lump under the hood of the '57 drinks gas: a four-cylinder of Russian origins, pulled out of a GAZ Volga as best I can understand.

How two-state Chevy Spark EV outsold 50-state Volt last month

Mon, May 4 2015

Is it really just about price? Last month, the Chevy Spark EV got a sizable price drop of $1,500 alongside a lowered lease price of $139 a month (down from $199). Those numbers, particularly that cheap lease, had a tremendous impact on how many all-electric Sparks GM sold last month. There were 920 Spark EVs sold in April, and the Spark EV is available in only two states: California and Oregon. Sales will start in Maryland in the third quarter of 2015, but there are no pre-orders taking place there, so all 920 were West Coast sales. To be more precise, there were about 864 Spark EV leases signed last month, since 94 percent of those 920 sales were retail leases. As Annalisa Bluhm from Chevrolet communications told AutoblogGreen, that level was, "simply insane." "In those states which offer Spark EV, you can get a 1LT Spark EV for less than a 1LT Spark, with more features" Bluhm said. "Factor in that you will save approximately $82 per month by abstaining from gas, and it's easy to see why people went crazy for the Spark." Let's put 920 into perspective. For one thing, it's crazy up from the 151 Spark EVs sold in March 2015 and the 97 sold in April 2014. It's also almost as many as GM sold all last year, and way more than two years ago. The General sold 653 Spark EVs in 2013 and 1,146 in 2014. To throw in a comparison with GM's longstanding plug-in champion, the aging Volt, the Spark EV came out ahead in the monthly tally for the first time ever. In April, the Volt sold 905 units. The plug-in hybrid's best-ever sales month was August 2013, when it sold 3,351 units. Counting all models and powertrains, Chevy sold 3,743 Sparks in April. So, does this success mean that Chevy is looking to bring the Spark EV to more markets? Bluhm said that GM is considering other states and is always looking at the business case, but has "nothing to announce yet."
