This 1985 Chevrolet Corvette is a limited edition to commemorate the offshore power boat race in Miami Fl in 1985 and was also to signify the origin of the cars name, corvette (sometimes corvet) is a small, maneuverable, lightly armed warship. The car was the top optioned model for a 1985 Corvette of it's day and has a special paint scheme to show the Nautical connection of the car to the race. 2 were given away at the event and this is one of them. The cars history reveals only 3 owners and NO ACCIDENTS. The car is completely original except for the factory radio which stopped working long ago.
It's not a perfect car, the power door lock switch does not work from, the power hatch release on the drivers door panel is a little loose but works (The release in the center console is in fine order), the paint has a couple of scratches, the hand painted pin strip has some wear in one spot, the passenger side headlight needs a new gear on the motor (Available on Ebay for around $36 with shipping), the wheather stripping around windows have some wear, the dash has 2 small cracks, the driverside door panel does show a little sign of its age by being slightly discolored where you arm would sit.
The good stuff, the engine runs fantastic with ZERO smoking and very little oil seepage (Would love to say dry as a bone, but as soon as I say that some one would buy the car and have a pin head size oil spot after a year and say I did not disclose a leak), the transmission shifts flawlessly, the rear diff is quite as the day it was built, no exhaust issues, recent tune with plug wires, windows work as they should, all gauges work as designed, the NEW radio plays excellently, the rear hatch has NEW struts, the carpet is original and NO HOLES, fog lamps work, seats are in remarkable condition, power seat works as designed, wheels are in good shape with nearly new tires, paint shines good all over, nose and tail rubbers are in great shape, dash lighting is exactly as new, A/C is cold, no water leaks when it rains, runs cool.
This car again is in original condition, not modified. It does not look like a car of this age as it has been garaged most of it's life. Please don't take what I am saying to mean it is in perfect condition, but it is in very good condition and should make a great collection piece if you are into "Original" cars it's going to fit your bill just fine. If you are into "Perfect condition, this would be a good platform to start. I have a YouTube video tour available upon request. The buyer must pay all cost related to transportation to you.

Some 2012-13 Chevy Volts may not have enough battery coolant
Mon, Jun 23 2014The 2012 and 2013 model year Chevrolet Volt extended-range plug-in vehicle may have a battery glitch caused by low coolant levels. No recall has been issued and General Motors is taking care of the issue at no cost to drivers. Some of the affected Volts may have lower-than-advisable coolant levels because of some pesky air pockets in the car's cooling circuit. When the coolant levels get too low, the charging system for the battery powering the car's onboard generator (i.e. the Rechargeable Energy Storage System, or the RESS) may be shut down, turning one's Volt into a run-of-the-mill gas-powered car, and a pricey one at that. The Car Connection says GM is advising owners of the '12 and '13 Volts to contact their local Chevy dealer for a free fix. GM representatives didn't immediately respond to a request for comment from AutoblogGreen for more details. We believe this is a separate issue than the one that brought 8,000 Volts back to the dealers for a battery coolant fix, what GM called a "voluntary customer satisfaction effort," a few years ago. General Motors sold 23,094 Chevy Volts last year after selling 23,461 Volts in 2012, so that fix-it list may get fairly lengthy. Check out a GM-Volt.com user thread related to this issue here. *UPDATE: Chevrolet spokesman Randy Fox confirmed in an e-mail to AutoblogGreen that the company issued a service bulletin to dealers that they may need to top off coolant levels on certain Volts because of the issue, and that the vehicle will "return to normal charging operation" once that's done.
A car writer's year in new vehicles [w/video]
Thu, Dec 18 2014Christmas is only a week away. The New Year is just around the corner. As 2014 draws to a close, I'm not the only one taking stock of the year that's we're almost shut of. Depending on who you are or what you do, the end of the year can bring to mind tax bills, school semesters or scheduling dental appointments. For me, for the last eight or nine years, at least a small part of this transitory time is occupied with recalling the cars I've driven over the preceding 12 months. Since I started writing about and reviewing cars in 2006, I've done an uneven job of tracking every vehicle I've been in, each year. Last year I made a resolution to be better about it, and the result is a spreadsheet with model names, dates, notes and some basic facts and figures. Armed with this basic data and a yen for year-end stories, I figured it would be interesting to parse the figures and quantify my year in cars in a way I'd never done before. The results are, well, they're a little bizarre, honestly. And I think they'll affect how I approach this gig in 2015. {C} My tally for the year is 68 cars, as of this writing. Before the calendar flips to 2015 it'll be as high as 73. Let me give you a tiny bit of background about how automotive journalists typically get cars to test. There are basically two pools of vehicles I drive on a regular basis: media fleet vehicles and those available on "first drive" programs. The latter group is pretty self-explanatory. Journalists are gathered in one location (sometimes local, sometimes far-flung) with a new model(s), there's usually a day of driving, then we report back to you with our impressions. Media fleet vehicles are different. These are distributed to publications and individual journalists far and wide, and the test period goes from a few days to a week or more. Whereas first drives almost always result in a piece of review content, fleet loans only sometimes do. Other times they serve to give context about brands, segments, technology and the like, to editors and writers. So, adding up the loans I've had out of the press fleet and things I've driven at events, my tally for the year is 68 cars, as of this writing. Before the calendar flips to 2015, it'll be as high as 73. At one of the buff books like Car and Driver or Motor Trend, reviewers might rotate through five cars a week, or more. I know that number sounds high, but as best I can tell, it's pretty average for the full-time professionals in this business.
Chevy reveals Colorado Z71 Trail Boss Edition
Sat, Mar 7 2015Chevrolet wants to make sure that if people are in the market for a midsize pickup, then there is a Colorado available to fit their desires. For businesses, there's the recently unveiled box delete package and for those looking for a customized look, there's the GearOn Edition. For the latest Z71 Trail Boss version, the automaker is going for folks planning to go off-road. As the name suggests, all Trail Boss versions of the Colorado start with the already off-road-inlined Z71 trim level, including its 305-horsepower, 3.6-liter V6 and six-speed automatic, and the package can be added to practically any body variant: extended or crew cab, long or short bed and rear- or four-wheel drive. To set things apart, there's a locking rear differential, front tow hooks, darkened 17-inch wheels that are shod with Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac tires and on the four-wheel drive models, a transfer case shield. For some extra style, the Colorado Trail Boss wears black parts for the fender flares, side steps and Bowtie badges. The bed also gets a spray-on liner and a few parts from the GearOn accessory catalog, including the tie-down rings, load bar and cargo divider. The Trail Boss goes on sale in the spring, and to add all of this equipment to a Colorado, it costs $3,320 in addition to the price of any Z71 trim model. It is offered in extended and crew cab configurations, with a choice of a long or short cargo bed and available 4WD. The Trail Boss goes on sale this spring with a starting price of $28,505 plus the package price of $3,320. "The Chevrolet Colorado Z71 Trail Boss Edition is equally at home blazing an urban trail or following one to a favorite remote campground," said Tony Johnson, Colorado marketing manager.
