THIS IS A 1977 CORVETTE ALL ORIGINAL MISSING A FEW PARTS BUT WAS STORED FOR 20 YEARS SO HAS VERY LOW MILES FOR THE YEAR. THIS COULD BE A DRIVER BUT THE WATER PUMP LEAKED ALITTLE AND WILL NEED POSSIBLE FRONT CALIPERS SENSE THEY ARE FROZE UP FROM SETTING SO YOU MIGHT BEABLE TO FREE THEM UP OR MIGHT HAVE TO CHANGE THEM SO CAR IS NOT DRIVABLE THE WAY IT IS SENSE THERE IS NO BRAKES. CAR STARTS UP GREAT AND RUNS GOOD AND IT DOES GO IN REVERSE,DRIVE FINE AND DOES MOVE SO TRANS SEEMS TO WORK FINE. THE BODY IS IN PREETY GOOD CONDITION BUT COULD USE A NEW PAINT JOB SENSE SOME OF THE PAINT IS FLAKING OFF IN AREAS AND THE IS A FEW SMALL CRACKS IN FIBERGLASS BODY BUT NO BIG CRACKS, THERE IS SOME OF THE INTERIOR PIEACES MISSING BUT THATS THE WAY I GOT IT AND SEATS ARE OK. THIS IS CONSIDERD A PROJECT CAR BUT NOT A MAJOR PROJECT I WOULD SAY UNLESS GOING TO RESTORE THE COMPLETE CAR. SOME OF THE STUFF INSIDE WORK LIKE TACH,OIL,WATER,VOLTS BUT OTHER STUFF LIKE POWER WINDOWS,CLOCK AND 1 HEADLIGHT GOES UP BUT THE OTHER DONT NOT SURE WHY COULD BE SOMETHING LIKE VACUM BUT NOT SURE THE GUY I GOT IT FROM SAID THEY STARTED TAKING IT APART AND THEN NEVER FINISHED SO SOME OF THE PARTS LIKE INTERIOR PIEACES GOT LOST OVER THE YEARS. THE BLINKERS WORK SO SOME OF THE OTHER STUFF MIGHT BE UNHOOKED OR NEED FUZES BUT NOT SURE. THE FRAME LOOKS GOOD IT IS RUSTY LOOKING BUT LOOKED IT OVER GOOD AND IT IS SOILD DIDN T SEE ANY HOLES OR RUSTED THROUGH. I AM TRYING TO TELL EVERYTHING I KNOW ABOUT THE CAR IM NOT A CORVETTE GUY I JUST GOT IT RUNNING AND PUT NEW SPARK PLUGS IN IT AND NEW GAS AND IT STARTED RIGHT UP AND TRANS WORK ALSO.IT HAS ORIGINAL MILES OF 75,645 ONLY AND EVERYTHING SEEMS TO BE ORIGINAL BUT IS MISSING THE ORIGINAL AIR CLEANER. MY RESERVE IS VERY FAIR AND A CHEAP WAY TO GET INTO A CORVETTE OR YOUR NEXT PROJECT. THE INTERIOR LOOKS TO BE A LIGHT GREY COLOR. LIKE I SAID THERE IS A FEW PARTS MISSING ON INSIDE AND OUTSIDE BUT NOTHING MAJOR. ALL THE WINDOWS ARE IN GOOD CONDITION WITH NO CRACKS. THE BACK TAIL LIGHTS ON DRIVER SIDE ARE CRACKED AND 1 IS BROKE OUT BUT STILL WORKS AND A EASY FIX AND CHEAP. THE DOOR SIDE MIRROR IS MISSING. THE FRONT TIRES ARE NO GOOD BUT DO HOLD AIR BACK TIRES HAVE GOOD TREAD AND COULD BE USED.

Our favorite mid-engine Corvette theories and rumors
Tue, Sep 13 2016The mid-engine Corvette! We just saw blurry photos through the foliage, and are hearts are all aflutter because it means that this car is real. And it's the most " never before" Corvette since 1984. Which leads us to all kinds of wacky theories and speculation. Everybody knows something or heard from a guy. None of those guys (or gals) from GM are talking to Autoblog, to be clear. But that won't stop us from stirring the pot. Let's go over a few point-by-point. The pushrod engine will be replaced by an overhead-cam V8 Car and Driver has repeatedly reported that an overhead-cam engine will come after the mid-engine Corvette's debut with an old-school pushrod. We've heard the same thing firsthand, albeit from a source with no connection to the development of the Corvette or powertrain. "At some point two valves can't pass future emissions regulations," said the guy we know. While the pushrod engine is compact, the design makes it difficult - if not impossible - for sophisticated variable valve timing (and lift) systems that control combustion with more precision. Hasty conclusion: The pushrod engine has a finite life in front of it. This one's a lock, it's a just a matter of when. Bowling Green's new paint shop is really the mid-engine assembly line Credit to Reddit for this one. Like we said, everybody knows a guy. But let's look deeper. The new paint facility costs $439 million dollars and adds 450,000 square feet, almost half the size of the existing plant. Plus GM announced another $290 million in upgrades at Bowling Green Assembly. That sure sounds like a lot of money, but you can actually spend that much on a paint booth. Porsche spent 500 million Euros (about $561 million dollars) to add the Macan assembly to its Leipzig, Germany plant in 2014. Chrysler shelled out $850 million for a paint shop in Sterling Heights, Michigan. GM spent $600 million for a new paint shop at the Fairfax (Kansas City) plant. Honda, on the other hand, is working on a thrifty $210 million project in Marysville, Ohio that includes a 300,000 square foot expansion, and the low-volume Acura NSX facility only cost $70 million. Hasty conclusion: The square footage and cost could easily mean a new assembly line instead of (or in addition to) a paint line. And if the NSX plant was really that cheap, GM could have hidden a similar sum in its existing announcements.
Even if GM does close all 5 of those plants, it'll still have too many
Wed, Nov 28 2018DETROIT — General Motors' monumental announcement on Monday that it will close three car assembly plants and two powertrain plants in North America and slash its workforce will only partially close the gap between capacity and demand for the automaker's sedans, according to a Reuters analysis of industry production and capacity data. Sales of traditional passenger cars in North America have been declining for the past six years and are still withering. After GM ends production next year at factories in Michigan, Ohio and Ontario, it will still have four U.S. passenger-car plants — all operating at less than 50 percent of rated capacity, according to figures supplied by LMC Automotive. In comparison, Detroit-based rivals Ford and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles will have one car plant each in North America after 2019. The Detroit Three are facing rapidly dwindling demand for traditional passenger cars from U.S. consumers, many of whom have shifted to crossovers and trucks. Passenger cars accounted for 48 percent of retail light-vehicle sales in the United States in 2014, according to market researchers at J.D. Power and Associates. This year, sedans will account for less than a third of light vehicle sales. That shift in turn has left most North American car plants operating far below their rated capacities, while many SUV and truck plants are running on overtime. The collapse in passenger-car demand is a challenge for nearly all automakers in the United States, including Japan's Toyota and Honda, which have the top-selling models in the compact and midsize car segments. Toyota executives said last month they are evaluating the company's U.S. model lineup. But Toyota also plans to build compact Corolla sedans at a new $1.6 billion factory it is building in Alabama with partner Mazda. The obstacles facing GM in its plans to close more auto factories became apparent on Tuesday as U.S. President Donald Trump threatened to block payment of government electric vehicle subsidies to GM. While it is not certain that Trump unilaterally has the power to do that, he made it clear he intends to use his office to pressure the company to keep open a small car plant in Ohio that GM says will stop building vehicles in March.
Meet the mother-daughter team that's worked on almost every Chevy Volt
Sun, May 11 2014It's Mother's Day, and we're soft enough we love our mothers enough to share a new video from General Motors with you. In it, we meet Monique Watson (left) and Evetta Osbourne, a mother-daughter team that works at the Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly where GM makes the Chevy Volt (along with all of GM's other plug-in hybrids: the Opel Ampera, Holden Volt and Cadillac ELR). The two work side-by-side and have installed the lithium-ion battery pack on almost all of those vehicles - nearly 80,000 of them - since GM started making the pre-production Volts in 2009. In a prepared statement, Watson said that she likes working next to her mom, day in and day out, and they the two are totally in sync when it comes to putting the 400-pound, 16.5-kWh packs into the vehicle undersides. They two can also share stories throughout the day, and Watson said, "The arrangement has absolutely improved our relationship." Osborne started working at Detroit-Hamtramck in 1999, Watson since 2006. If you're driving a Volt today, you probably have them to thank for doing a bit of the work putting your car together. See a short video of them in action below. It's Always Mother's Day for Detroit-Hamtramck Duo Mother, daughter install lithium-ion battery pack in nearly all GM electric vehicles 2014-05-08 DETROIT – For Detroit resident Evetta Osborne, every day is Mother's Day. That's because she literally works side by side with her daughter, Monique Watson, at General Motors' Detroit-Hamtramck assembly plant. They have installed the lithium-ion battery pack on nearly every Chevrolet Volt, Opel Ampera, Holden Volt, and Cadillac ELR since production began. In fact, apart from vacation days and an occasional sick day, the mother-daughter duo has installed almost every battery pack since the Volt was in pre-production in 2009. The ELR launched earlier this year. All told – including Ampera – that's more than 80,000 electric vehicles. "We're a good team and our relationship is secondary when it comes to performing our jobs – but it's great to work alongside my daughter, said Osborne, a mother of five. Because the battery packs weigh more than 400 pounds each, automatic guided vehicles – robotic carts that use sensors to follow a path through the plant – deliver them just as the vehicle body structures glide into position overhead. The carts then lift the T-shaped packs, and Osborne and Watson guide them into the chassis and secure each one with 24 fasteners.
