Up for sale is my 1955 Chevrolet Corvette.

This is an unrestored car with 25,668 original miles on the odometer.
This car screams originality.
The entire drive train is original and has never been out of the car.
The car has all of the original red paint, but some of the exterior has been repainted at one time or another.
There are cracks in the paint mainly in the rear section of the car. These cracks are mainly on the trunk lid.
This car is pretty much unmolested and retains the original vinyl top, all interior including the original carpet, trunk mat, spare tools, air cleaner, ignition shielding, washer bag, etc.
The shock are original and are tired.
The windshield has a crack in it and I purchased another windshield with the correct date code. It goes with the car.
The clock works and then stops.
The radio works intermittently.
Everything else on the car operates as it should.
I did put a new correct exhaust system on the car as well as new Firestone 6.70 x 15 www tires.
I have the history on the car as well as the original dealer invoice when the car was  purchased new from Nelson Chevrolet in Chicago, IL. on October 4,1955.
I also have all registrations from 1957 forward.
An original car like this doesn't come along every day.
I have never seen an original 55 in this condition. The car runs and drives great.

Petrolicious profiles one man and his duo of '64 Impalas

Wed, Jul 1 2015

Restoring any vintage car is a labor of love. In the end, the investment of time and money is often more than the vehicle is realistically worth on the open market. Deciding to take all of that work on yourself doesn't make things any easier, but it can only increase your connection to the project. Don Rogers, the subject of the latest video from Petrolicious, shows this passion perfectly with his duo of 1964 Chevrolet Impalas – a hardtop and convertible. Both of these Chevys had been sitting for years before Rogers got his talented hands on them, and he did all of the work himself. Now, driving the pair is therapy for him, and he's not worried about anything breaking because he knows he can put it back together. Rogers says he enjoys wrenching on his vehicles even more than going to shows. Doing your own work comes with advantages, like tailoring a project's look to your preferences. It's not original, but Rogers used the crimson interior color from a '59 Impala on his convertible to make the interior pop with the top down. Rogers is undoubtedly a talented builder, and his work is worth checking out in the latest from Petrolicious. Related Video:

GM's Reuss predicts 2016 Chevy Camaro will outperform Ford Mustang in every way

Tue, Apr 7 2015

We aren't going to be seeing the next-generation Chevrolet Camaro until next month. But even though we know when we're going to see the new muscle car, it's totally unclear whether Chevy will dole out technical details. That means we can't answer the latest version of the age-old question: Camaro or Ford Mustang? Not surprisingly, General Motors North America President Mark Reuss has already stated his position, saying he was "very confident" that the sixth-generation Camaro will be faster, more agile and more efficient than the Ford. Reuss made his comments after saying he drove the new Camaro back-to-back with the Mustang the week prior. Reuss' statement came in a conversation with Fox News about the 2016 Camaro where he elaborated on the car's weight shedding and how it fit into GM's strategy on other new models. "There are some really cool things in the Camaro, that are quite different than the Malibu, [and] CT6," Reuss told Fox. As we reported previously, the Camaro will shed some 200 pounds by switching to aluminum and other lightweight composites for some of its components. With May 16 just over a month away, here's hoping Reuss decides to loose some other details on the next Camaro ahead of its debut. Related Video:

GM says hybrid Corvette no laughing matter [w/poll]

Fri, 30 Aug 2013

When Mark Reuss was in LA recently, he sat down to have a few words with the scribes at the Los Angeles Times. When the issue of a hybrid Corvette came up, Reuss answered with "Don't laugh." The General Motors president is a complete fan of the possibility, calling it "attractive" and "really fun," believing it would improve GM expertise and that "people would love it."
Naturally, the president being supportive of an idea doesn't give indication that a hybrid Corvette is on the way. However, with supercars like the Porsche 918 Spyder and Ferrari LaFerrari giving hybrid tech a solid, if remote, place in the performance car world, the inexorable trickle-down of technology means we shouldn't be surprised if and when it does happen.
And now that we have that non-negative half-answer to a speculative question, it would be irresponsible for us not to commence rumormilling for the C8 Corvette. Taking Reuss at his word, the C8 will obviously be a hybrid with all-wheel-drive - the left side wheels driven with electric motors, the right side with the mid-mounted, four-cylinder diesel engine. With coefficient of drag of just .16, figure on a 0-to-60 mile-per-hour time of under 2 seconds and an all-electric range of something like 30 miles at top speed. Don't forget, folks, you read it here first.
