I have a 1971 Chevy C-10 Pick Up for sale.  I am the 2nd listed owner of this truck.  The original owner died and from old age and i got the truck from his estate sale in Texas.  This truck is EXTREMELY solid, but does have some areas that need to be addressed.  It has almost all the options, very few are missing.  It has a 402 Big Block Chevy engine.  Turbo 400 Transmission.  Factory cruise Control.  Factory Air Conditioning.  Factory Rear self inflating air suspension.  Cab mounted bed light.  Headliner with cowboy hat holder mounted over it.  It has a factory toolbox compartment in the bed side.  ALL the Cheyenne trim is in place, including the piece over the toolbox.  I have scrapped the original steel rims, but still have the original hubcaps.  The engine still had the original (experimental) nylon timing gear that went out one day.  Long story short, all the pieces of nylon contaminated the engine.  I had to pull the engine to clean it all out.  The cam had a flat lobe so I bought a replacement comp cam (still in the box).  I bought headers to install with the engine installation.  I sold the TH400 transmission because I planned to install a 700r4 to compliment the 4.10's I believe are in the rear.  I have another TH400 that will go with the truck, but no torque converter.  The crankshaft had 3 different size bearings, so I wanted to have it turned to clean it up.  There is nothing wrong with it as is and it could be re-installed.  I have also replaced the oil pump with a Morosso high volume pump.  The seat is very soft so I would assume it has been recovered in the not so distant past.  There is rust in the rocker panels on both sides.  It is repairable, but the replacement panels are cheap so its your call.  The pinch welds on the roof above the windshield are rusting.  And lastly, the hinge mount on the bedside toolbox door are rusting.  The bed floor is solid, but a poor patch on the drivers side front corner is showing a hole.  I have no idea what happened there.  It was patched when I bought it.  The floor pans are COMPLETELY solid.  Oh, and I noticed the front edge off the inner fender under the battery is rusted too.  That sums up the rust.  There are a few dents, the worst one in the tailgate.  The gate opens and closes like a new truck.  The passenger door opens and closes the same way.  The drivers door has started dragging only since the truck has been sitting.  I already listed this truck, but could not upload pictures.  Now for pics...

Sold as is with no warranty.  No, I won't ship it over seas.  I don't want help selling the truck.  And I CAN help with delivery for an extra fee, to be discussed and paid for before the truck gets loaded on my trailer.

Thank-You

GM extends production at Detroit factory until early 2020

Fri, Feb 22 2019

General Motors Co said on Friday it had extended the production at its Detroit Hamtramck plant until January 2020, against an earlier plan to discontinue production in June this year. The No.1 U.S. automaker is revamping its operations, which include plant closures and thousands of job cuts, as it looks to boost profitability in the wake of declining U.S. auto sales. The Hamtramck plant will continue to produce the Chevrolet Impala and Cadillac CT6 sedans until early next year, the company said. "We are balancing production timing while continuing the availability of Cadillac advanced technology features currently included in the CT6-V — the Blackwing Twin-Turbo V-8 (engine) and Super Cruise (driver assistance system)," GM said. The plant has already discontinued production of the Buick LaCrosse sedan and Chevrolet Volt electric hybrid car. Detroit-based union United Auto Workers' President Gary Jones said GM's decision to continue production at the plant was a relief for the workers as well as their families. "We commend GM for today's decision and we reiterate the importance of a collective bargaining process in times like these," Jones said. Reporting by Ankit Ajmera. Related Video:

GM tells owners not to use SUV wipers due to fire risk

Sun, Oct 11 2015

General Motors is recalling 31,685 examples of the 2016 Buick Enclave, Chevrolet Traverse, and GMC Acadia because a short circuit in the windshield wiper motor can potentially lead to a fire. Due to the danger, the company is asking owners not to use the wipers until the problem is fixed, according to The Detroit Free Press citing the Associated Press. A manufacturing defect in the wiper motor cover means that the electrical terminals can come into contact and cause a short. The part could "melt, smoke, or catch fire," according to a statement from GM. The company will get them fixed immediately, and dealers will replace the cover. If there's bad weather at the time the owner specifies to get the recall work completed, the automaker will come pick up the crossovers. Depending on parts availability, the automaker will supply a rental car for customers, as well. The issue was discovered at the factory. According to the company's statement, only 6,405 actually made it to customers, and they were notified immediately by overnight letter. The rest were in dealer stock. The affected crossovers carry build dates between August 18, 2015 and September 24, 2015. Of those, there are 29,295 in the US and 1,073 in Canada. GM Statement: General Motors has told the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that it will recall approximately 29,295 2016 model year Chevrolet Traverse, Buick Enclave and GMC Acadia SUVs in the U.S. because the front windshield wiper motor may overheat when in use because of a manufacturing defect. In some cases, the front windshield wiper motor cover may melt, smoke or catch fire. The approximately 6,405 customers who have taken delivery of these vehicles were notified by overnight letter and are urged to contact a GM dealer as soon as possible to arrange a service appointment. These customers should not use the front windshield wipers until they have been repaired. If weather conditions prevent driving the vehicle without using the windshield wipers, GM will arrange to pick up the vehicle for servicing. If repair parts are unavailable, GM will provide a rental car at no cost until parts become available. The total population, including Canada, Mexico and exports, is approximately 31,685. About 25,280 of these vehicles are in dealer stock and will not be sold until repairs are made.

Take a close look at the guts of the Chevy Volt battery, powertrain

Sat, Aug 9 2014

Just how intimate would you like to get with the powertrain in a Chevy Volt? If you're anything like YouTube user d55guy, then spending a half hour filming yourself taking apart the battery pack, motor, inverter and more for a look inside sounds like your idea of fun. After all, this way you get to see the cooling system, the heavy safety kill switch and count up the individual cells in the battery modules. Fun! Turns out, we also enjoy languidly paced Volt dissection video goodness, and we think you might want to see it as well. So, we've embedded two videos below and if you don't have a better understanding of how the Volt is put together after watching them, well, at least you can't say we never tried to show you anything. Given that what's really happening here is the organized 'destruction' of an expensive and potentially dangerous object, let's talk safety. There's a serious disclaimer at the beginning of the videos and on the YouTube description page, but we feel the need to repeat the gist of it here: do not try this at home. The creator of the video says he is a trained engineer and has been doing things like this "for the better part of a decade," so he apparently knows what he's doing. With that in mind, watch it all below. When you're done seeing the insides of a Volt powertrain up close, if you need more filmed EV dissection/destruction, check out this video designed for first responders approaching a damaged Tesla Model S.
