Colorado Springs, Colorado, United States

* 1974 Chevrolet K10 (4WD) Stepside Pick Up * * NO RESERVE * Before you and up for bid at NO RESERVE is my 1974 Chevy K10 Stepside Cheyenne Pick Up Truck. The particulars of the truck are as follows: * Three owner truck since new, most recent ownership since 2001. * A purpose built toy, the customization of the truck took place in 2006. Since that time it has been driven less than 10K miles. * 83,434 total miles are on the truck. * A garaged & pampered solid Colorado truck, not a winter transportation vehicle and therefore NO RUST. * Non-smoker, adult owned, no pets. * The build was done at a cost exceeding $12K, not factoring the value of the platform K10. * Original 350 ci V8, professionally rebuilt to stock specs for the build, Edelbrock 4 bbl carb, intake, valve covers and air cleaner. Braided hoses and lines. The truck fires right up, holds a smooth idle and runs cool. I just drove it at highway speed over 200 miles, last weekend. * Original TH350 automatic transmission, it shifts smoothly through all transitions and reverse. * 4WD, full or part time, manual lock out front hubs, low and high range * ProComp 4" lift, all new suspension components, bushings, shocks and springs for the build * Flowmaster dual exhaust, sounds great, not over stated * Custom seat refoaming, color coordinated upholstery, the bench seat slides properly forward and back. * Shoulder and lap belts * Nice door panels * Deep pile carpet with sound deadening material * The truck was originally burnt orange in color, the copper is closely matched. The paint job was $5K alone, the truck was stripped down, the interior was removed, doors off, bed off, fenders removed, etc. The finish is still beautiful. (see pic of the hood to observe paint reflection) * For the build, new fenders, doors and tailgate. The bed was taken down to metal. The cab was fully sprayed (inside, too) when the interior was removed. * New bumpers, grill, lights, wiring, etc. * Solid Oak bed floor, in 1974 on Chevy Stepside trucks, wood was still standard. On Fleetsides, the choice of metal or wood was offered. Recently resealed with Thompson water seal. * Chrome roll ball with auxillary dual spot lighting * Custom chrome grill * Originally a factory AC truck, the compressor is not hooked up. All in cab AC related plumbing is still intact. * Stampede 33x12.50 15" M&S All Terrain Tires, 60% tread wear remaining, no uneven wear or cuts. * ProComp Chrome wheels, no pits, curb rash or discoloration. * Power steering, power disc brakes * Fresh fluids, belts, filters, tires rotated and balanced, recent battery * Ceiling mounted sound panel, 4 speakers, PIONEER Supertuner AM/FM/single disc CD player * All gaskets and weather stripping are soft and pliable * Good glass throughout, no cracks, both windows roll up & down smoothly * Sliding rear window * The dash pad does have some minor heat cracks, these pads are easily and inexpensively replaced. A DashMat fabric cover is presently in place. * All safety features, lights, directionals, emergency flashers, wipers, etc. are fully functional. * All gauges and function monitoring lights are fully operational * Excellent heat, defrost and ventillation * Original owners manual and supplemental pamplets * Two sets of keys, locking fuel cap At 40 years of age, while not a show truck, the K10 receives compliments everywhere it goes. The build is almost 8 years old, however, it still looks, runs and drives great! The truck is tight, there is no steering play whatsoever, it does not wander and is easy to drive. It goes down the road straight, easily cruising at 70 mph. The seating position is no higher than that of my Excursion. Ready for summer fun and whatever direction you point it towards, lake, beach, trail, dunes, your choice...the K10 will get you there and back...safely. It is an extremely reliable truck and could easily be a daily driver. I know how much time, work and money went into this truck. While I have a good idea as to its present market value, I'm going to let you, the eBay truck buying public, make that determination. Being sold at a true "NO RESERVE" auction, other than the initial bid to get things started...last bid WINS IT!! Bid what you can afford and are willing to pay for the 1974 Chevrolet K10 Stepside (4WD) Custom Pick Up Truck that you see before you. Without question, one could not build half of this truck for what I believe it will sell for. You are bidding to purchase the K10, not to be the first to "look at it". Please have your funding in place prior to placing your bid. Thank you. Please consult with your spouse, therapist, pet, or Magic 8-Ball prior to placing your bid, as I am not running a clinic for the confused. Thank you. *If you are new to eBay, have 0% feedback history, excessive negative feedback, inactivity on eBay for years even though you have been a long standing "member", you will ABSOLUTELY need to CALL ME prior to placing your bid or your bid will be canceled, and you will be blocked from further bidding. This policy is in place as a result of disingenuous bidders, y'know the ilk, flakes, dirtbags, etc., that bid on items, win auctions and then fail to honor their commitment(s). Thank you. I am a legitimate seller simply seeking a legitmate buyer. I will not waste or take lightly your time, please do not do so either with mine. The truck and I are located in the Colorado Springs vicinity. While I am confident that the truck could easily be driven home safely to anywhere in America, I do not recommend driving an old car or truck home, as they are just that...old cars. The pragmatic approach is to ship it. Out on the road, miles from home, is not the place to become acquainted with your new (40 year old) truck, get it home first. That said...I can't stop you if you're a type A personality. If you choose to fly in and drive home, I will gladly pick you up from the airport in Colorado Springs. I can recommend a reputable shipper for you. I will also coordinate to schedule for the pick up with your chosen carrier. Given the age of the truck, it is acknowledged to being sold in "as is" condition, with no expressed, written or implied warranties. A $1000.00 deposit is due & payable VIA PayPal within 24 hours of auction close. No exceptions. I expect you, the buyer, to call me directly within 24 hours of auction close in order to discuss further the particulars of the balance arrangements, as well as your intentions for getting the truck home. The balance is then due and payable within 5 days thereafter under condition and arrangement made between myself and the buyer. I prefer a legitimate bank to bank wire transfer for the balance, as it provides a documented record of the transaction for both parties. I will accept PayPal for the entire purchase amount, however, ONLY if the buyer pays ALL PayPal related fees including the intial deposit fee. (approx. $30.00 per thousand) Clear Colorado title, the title and truck will not be released until payment in full has been received. Upon receipt of full payment, I will overnight to you VIA FedEx your ownership documents. (title & bill of sale) Ebay only provides for 24 pictures. I have selected pictures that best present a concise overview of the truck. If you would like any area specific pictures, simply request them. Buyers from the U.S., Europe, Australia and New Zealand are welcome and encouraged to bid with confidence. I am not a dealer, I am a collector/hobbyist that is downsizing my personal vehicles that are not getting the use they deserve. Those that have purchased my vehicles are consistantly pleased, their expectations exceeded. I answer my phone quicker than I respond to e-mail, call me directly with any questions. If you reach my voice mail, leave me a message and I will return your call promptly. While I am offering the K10 at "NO RESERVE", I am open to a "buy it now" offer. If you would like to present a "buy it now" offer, call me and present your offer. DO NOT call and ask me, "what's the lowest that you'll take?" I don't bite and the worst I can say is no thanks. Thanks for looking, good luck when you bid, bid early, bid often, but remember... last bid WINS this cool old truck! Jeff (719)-492-1234

Thanks for keeping us on our toes, Detroit Auto Show [w/poll]
Wed, Jan 14 2015Here at Autoblog, we love unexpected debuts at auto shows – and judging by our Detroit Auto Show comments and traffic, you do, too. Surprise reveals have been fewer and farther between in recent years with so many ways for vehicles to be teased or leak out, but this week's show has been a revelation. More to the point, it's been a series of revelations, with automakers from around the globe successfully delivering a brace of concept and production surprises. It's made our jobs a lot more exciting and challenging this week, and even though it's actually more work to react and run-and-gun when the sheet is pulled on a surprise reveal than it is to publish an already-written embargoed story, we've had more fun covering this show for you than any domestic show in memory. We hope you've enjoyed the surprises along with us. To that end, borrowing the words of an unnamed automaker PR flack, we'd like to thank the following automakers for enduring "mountain of antacids" and that "creeping sense of paranoia" necessary to keeping ones' wares totally under wraps until the sheets are pulled off the sheetmetal: Buick Avenir concept Chevrolet Bolt concept Ford GT concept Ford Mustang Shelby GT350R Ford F-150 SVT Raptor Hyundai HCD-15 Santa Cruz concept And while we're at it, we'd like to throw in an shout-out to Detroit's substantially revised and revitalized Cobo Center, and in particular, the redone Michelin media center, which is arguably the single best accommodations for writing show stories that we've encountered on the entire international circuit. Well done, everyone. Thank you, and keep the surprises coming. Auto News Detroit Auto Show Buick Chevrolet Ford Hyundai Volvo 2015 Detroit Auto Show
GM won't pay owners of recalled cars for lost value
Thu, 12 Jun 2014Kenneth Feinberg, the man in charge of the General Motors compensation fund dealing with the its widespread ignition switch woes, has issued an informal, two-letter response to the plaintiffs in more than 70 lawsuits seeking redress for lost resale value of their Cobalts: "No." The cases were recently combined into one, but Feinberg told The Detroit News that the fund will deal "only with death and physical injury claims," and that "perceived diminished value" will get no consideration.
ALG, the firm specializing in establishing residual values, determined that Cobalt owners had lost $300 compared to the segment competition and doesn't envision any long-term effects from the recall situation. Feinberg's statement comes in advance of public details on how the compensation fund will work and adheres to GM's long-held position on the matter. The company has already asked a judge to throw out such suits using the pre-bankruptcy defense, even as it stopped using that defense in cases of injury and death.
With plenty of potential gain from the GM suit, however, don't expect the plaintiffs to give up yet. When Toyota was sued for the same reason during the unintended acceleration debacle, it eventually settled the case for between $1 billion and $1.4 billion just to get it over with. Since the 85 law firms involved in the Toyota litigation took home more than $250 million of that total, we shouldn't expect the attorneys to give up on a GM payout, either.
Weekly Recap: Volvo buys Polestar, makes performance a priority
Sat, Jul 18 2015Volvo is taking its performance business in-house, and the Swedish carmaker announced Tuesday that it bought tuning company Polestar, which has long been known for producing sporty Volvos. The move allows Volvo to ramp up its performance business, and it plans to increase Polestar-branded vehicle sales to 1,000 to 1,500 annually, up from the 750 total projected for this year. The companies have been working together on motorsports projects since 1996. Financial terms of the sale were not released, and Polestar workers will move over to Volvo. Former Polestar owner Christian Dahl will keep control of the Polestar racing team and operate it under a new name. In addition to sales volume, Volvo has ambitious plans for other parts of Polestar, including its aftermarket business. Volvo also said it will use its twin-engine hybrid technology for Polestar models in the future, though specifics and timing were not revealed. Meanwhile, Volvo announced it will offer a run of 265 total Polestars in the United States for the 2016 model year, with S60 and V60s available. "Driving a Volvo Polestar is a special experience. We have decided to bring this experience to more Volvo drivers, placing the full resources of Volvo behind the development of Polestar as the model name for our high performance cars," Volvo CEO Hakan Samuelsson said in a statement. OTHER NEWS & NOTES 2016 Chevy Silverado, GMC Sierra, get nose jobs Automakers tend to refer to light updates as 'facelifts,' and that's exactly what Chevy gave the 2016 Silverado and GMC Sierra. Chevy slightly changed the front end of the truck. Using the one photo released of the new Z71 model as a guide, we can see that the headlights went from a stacked vertical design to single bulbs, and they are set on top of LED running lights. The grille has more body-colored elements instead of shiny metal, and the hood has a new line running down the middle (look really closely). The design theme will be similar across the portfolio, though materials and details will vary, a spokesman said. Some models, like the High Country and LTZ will have more chrome, and the LEDs are only for the upper trims. Chevy also said it will use the eight-speed automatic transmission on more versions of the Silverado, and it updated the MyLink feature to support Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
