I have a rare Chevelle wagon for sale. This Chevelle comes with the original 350 engine and 350 automatic transmission, 2bbl carb, lots of documentation. The documentation was from an older restoration nearly 6 years ago totaling nearly $20,000. Most of which was to having all the power train redone, it had all new brakes, rebuilt motor, transmission, suspension, tie rods, gear box, Ac box and Ac system, wiper motors and much more things done to it. Body has one dent on passenger rear door that could be popped out. Floors, rockers, and fenders are nice and solid. Dual exhaust, power front disc brakes, power steering. There is some usual rust bubbling around windows as pictured, that all wagons get on the window trim bases, but could be fixed. It stays parked in my garage but does run and drive great. You will love the smooth ride. I have other toys and was going to give it a paint job and upgrade interior later, but I only drive it 4 or 5 times a year. She really needs to be taken out and enjoyed by someone. I went ahead and pulled it out of the storage unit, brought her home, did a full tune up, got her inspected and new registration. I hate to leave her parked for so long so I am going to offer her up for sale. I had her for sale before and got a lot of interest, but I changed my mind because its so cool and rare, not to mention these are very expensive when restored. Mechanically she drives great, but she could be restored inside and out to make it that trophy show car. Paint is okay but fading, interior is okay but worn, head liner needs replacement, dash cluster is original and not cut up for a radio. It has a new original styled Ac system, hoses, compressor and lines, but need to be recharged. It has some non original bucket seats in it now, but I have the original styled bench seat, as well as the correct bucket seats for the chevelle. I will give the buyer the option of what seats they want to go with the wagon so they could mount if they wanted to, because the seats in it now are fine, again just not original. I could not decide on whether or not to go back with r 12 or 134, but was told since system was new and empty, I could put in the new 134 in it, but I never got around to it. Work keeps me tied up.  It has the rear seat that folds down for more cabin space and a rear tailgate that opens two ways, down and to the side. A great option of those days. It comes with a rear spoiler/wind deflector that I took off the rear of the roof, because some screws were loose and some missing when I bought it, but it can be put back up with correct mounting hardware. The rear power window is not working and Im not sure why yet, it could be the switch, fuse, window motor, or just stuck from nonusage, it might just take a good oiling as I have done in the past. Anyway, I Decided to sell her this time because of a house project. So if you want to be that person with all the heads turning, and the envy of local car shows, this is the toy to get. Once more, you can drive it while you restore her. If you have less than 25 feedbacks call me before you bid, and get permission from your wife or husband ahead of time. This muscle wagon is for sale locally, so the auction could end at anytime. If you have any questions call Shun 832 722-2284. Happy new year :)

I forgot to mention that it Will also come with a set of edelbrock valve covers, edelbrock performer intake, and edelbrock 4 bbl carburetor .  I had them on it before but pulled them off, because I wanted that factory original from factory look. I like originality, even though the other set looked awesome, and put out a nice amount of horsepower.

I got a chance to check the rear power window motor today and it worked great when I ran power to it directly. Not sure how to check switch or relay. Either way that motor working great made me go ! Whew !  That was a nice relief

The real costs of keeping a Chevy Volt on the road

Wed, Sep 2 2015

The release of the new, 2016 Chevy Volt is sure to bring a surge of used electric vehicles to the market as early adopters trade their older models in. Many of these cars are selling for a fraction of their original price, thanks in part to federal and state incentives that lowered the initial cost to the first owner, which opens these cars up to a whole new class of consumers. While the prices are getting attractive, potential buyers are still hesitant to buy a used EV due to uncertainty about service and repair costs, but there may be some good news on the horizon. The Chevy Volt comes with a battery warranty that is good for at least 8 years and 100,000 miles, but many of the Volts popping up on the market have passed that 100,000-mile mark. The threat of needing a new battery can be a deterrent, especially with some dealers quoting prices as high as $34,000 for a full "drive motor battery replacement." That sum is more than the MSRP of a 2016 model. Some of the fear of EV maintenance and repair comes from the mystery of the individual pieces that make up the drivetrain and charging system. If we take a look at the Volt in terms of analogs to a traditional internal-combustion vehicle, the outlook becomes a little more friendly. The Volt battery pack consists of three lithium-ion modules in a T-shaped arrangement, each of which can be serviced individually. Module 1 is made up of 90 cells and corresponds to GM part number 22954462, which retails for $3,258.33; module 2 is made up of 72 cells and corresponds to GM part number 22954463, which retails for $2,930.00; lastly, module 3 is made up of 125 cells and corresponds to GM part number 22954464, and retails for $4,933.33. These part numbers have been added to the dealer order systems but have not shown up in the distribution centers at this time. Although all three of the modules add up to a fairly large $11,121.66 total and are still on hold for dealer ordering, the good news is that in most cases these battery cell modules do not need to be replaced. There are many other individual pieces mounted on the battery pack that are serviceable, such as the Battery Energy Control Modules (BECM) and the Battery Interface Control Modules (BICM). These modules control and monitor the battery packs and charging system and have been known to fail while the lithium-ion battery cells are not at fault. Some have been replaced under warranty, but if you are stuck buying one they run about $255 a piece for the part.

Zombie cars: A dozen discontinued vehicles people still buy new

Thu, Jan 6 2022

Car models come and go, but as revealed by monthly sales data, once a car is discontinued, it doesn't just disappear instantly. And in the case of some models, vanishing into obscurity can be a slow, tedious process. That's the case with the 12 cars we have here. All of them have been discontinued, but car companies keep racking up "new" sales with them. There are actually more discontinued cars that are still registering new sales than what we decided to include here. We kept this list to the oldest or otherwise most interesting vehicles still being sold as new, including a supercar. We'll run the list in alphabetical order, starting with *drumroll* ... BMW 6 Series: 55 total sales BMW quietly removed the 6 Series from the U.S. market during the 2019 model year. It had been available in three configurations, a hardtop coupe, a convertible and a sleek four-door coupe-like shape.   BMW i8: 18 total sales We've always had a soft spot for the BMW i8, despite the fact that it never quite fit into a particular category. It was sporty, but nowhere near as fast as similarly-priced competitors. It looked very high-tech and boasted a unique carbon fiber chassis design and a plug-in hybrid powertrain, but wasn't really designed for maximum efficiency or maximum performance. Still, the in-betweener was very cool to look at and drive, and 18 buyers took one home over the course of 2021.   Chevy Impala: 750 total sales The Impala represented classic American tastes at a time when American tastes were shifting away from soft-riding sedans with big interior room and trunk space and into higher-riding crossovers. A total of 750 sales were inked last year.   Chrysler 200: 15 total sales The Chrysler 200 was actually a pretty nice sedan, with good looks and decent driving dynamics let down by a lack of roominess, particularly in the back seat. Of course, as we said regarding the Chevy Impala, the number of Americans in the market for sedans is rapidly winding down, and other automakers are following Chrysler's footsteps in canceling their slow-selling four-doors. Even if Chrysler never really found its footing in the ultra-competitive midsize sedan segment, apparently dealerships have a few leftover 2017 200s floating around. And for some reason, 15 buyers decided to sign the dotted line to take one of these aging sedans home last year.

All of the Bond cars of 'No Time To Die' (caution for spoilers)

Thu, Sep 30 2021

Note: The following overview of the cars in No Time To Die contains spoilers. Read at your own risk, or come back after seeing the film to make sure you caught everything.   No Time To Die picks up right around where Spectre leaves us. James Bond (Daniel Craig) and Madeleine Swann (Lea Seydoux) are driving along in Bond’s restored and iconic DB5 in Matera, Italy. Things donÂ’t stay all that cheery for long in picturesque Matera, though. As is tradition in Bond films, the first car chase hits us with an explosion of action in what's a super-long opening scene. Fourth-gen Maserati Quattroporte: The baddies in the beginning are driving a Maserati and chasing after Bond in the DB5. Specifically, theyÂ’re in a fourth-gen Quattroporte, which feels right for a chase scene in Italy. Its squared-off looks are mean enough, and its Italian growl is a good background soundtrack to the DB5Â’s inline-six. In addition to the Quattroporte, the chase scene in Matera is home to a couple of the best stunts of the entire movie, including the arch jump done with a Triumph motorcycle seen in trailers — Matera is extremely hilly. Eventually, Bond and Swann find themselves in the DB5 again together, which is where the famous gatling gun scene from the trailer commences, but not before the bulletproof windows and body of the DB5 are thoroughly tested. RIP to the first-gen Range Rover Classics and Jaguar XFs that joined the Maserati in pursuit of Bond (here's a list of other Bond cars over the years). As the DB5 escape scene concludes, we catch a glimpse of what appears to be a Ferrari from the 1970s. However, the view was far enough away that weÂ’ll need a second look to be sure of the exact model. Land Rover Series III: Next time we see Bond, heÂ’s fishing in Jamaica and driving around a blue Land Rover Series III. ItÂ’s yet another of the many Land Rover products featured throughout the film, and unlike most of BondÂ’s Aston Martins, this one doesnÂ’t seem to have any unique features. The other intriguing vehicle out of Jamaica? An old Chevrolet Bel-Air expertly and effectively piloted by Bond newcomer, Ana de Armas. Next up, we get a few shots of the new and still-not-for-sale Aston Martin Valhalla mid-engine supercar (also seen in trailers). BondÂ’s old boss M is in the scene which appears to have been shot in some secret wind tunnel of sorts. Much to our dismay, nobody ends up driving the Valhalla in the film. Could it be a teaser for what the next 007Â’s car is?
